'IT IS RIDICULOUS, UNACCEPTABLE'
Defense lead counsel Atty. Sheila Sison criticized the prosecution’s decision to withdraw three articles of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte on Day 39 of her impeachment trial, calling the move “ridiculous” and “unacceptable.”
Sison questioned the prosecution’s messaging after presenting witnesses and evidence for 38 days, only to withdraw the three articles, saying the move was intended to speed up the proceedings.
Earlier, lead prosecutor Gerville Luistro said that if the defense wanted to make all its evidence public, it could consider other avenues for sharing the materials. (Video courtesy of Senate of the Philippines)
