00:01All right. I am glad to see that everybody here will be able to relate to our Bible verse in
00:10more ways than one.
00:11So, who here does not have a sibling?
00:17Ah, obviously, all of you have siblings. So you know how this goes.
00:22Let me ask first, Andy and Ali. You can be honest. You should be honest. We're at church and you're
00:28amongst family.
00:29Do you always get along with your sister?
00:34He didn't even have to answer it. She answered it right away. No.
00:39You always get along with your brother.
00:42Okay. There you go. How about Katie and Kylie?
00:45Never. Oh, never. Okay. All right.
00:49Stay in. No?
00:52How about, let me go to Caleb first.
00:54Caleb, your sister's there. Do you always get along with your sister?
00:58Sometimes. Oh, that's very nice. Is that true, Colleen?
01:03Good. Okay. Very good.
01:04And obviously, we got one last set of siblings here. Do you always get along with Kuya?
01:10No.
01:13That's okay.
01:14Now, we're not going to try to bring up old wounds and hurts today.
01:17But what I do want to show us is that we're not always going to get along with not just
01:24siblings.
01:25This is why I say siblings. That's the most, that's like the most direct thing that we, or I should
01:30say, that you all have going on.
01:31I never had to be siblings, so I wouldn't get along with myself at times.
01:35But jokes aside, at the VL, if you can put up the verse on the screen.
01:39This is one of probably, I don't know, the forgotten verses, the forgotten sayings of Jesus.
01:46It's so simple. It's so Jesus-like of him to say, and yet we forget it much of the time,
01:53right?
01:54We get to, our minds go all different places.
01:57But I want us to say together this verse.
02:00Begin with where it says Matthew 5.9.
02:01We read the verse, and then we say Matthew 5.9, the reference, one last name.
02:05All together now.
02:06Matthew 5.9.
02:09Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.
02:15Matthew 5.9.
02:17Isn't that interesting?
02:19This is what, this verse I mean, is what's from what is called the Beatitudes.
02:25Say Beatitudes.
02:27That was one of Jesus' very first sermons.
02:30Maybe his very first, for all we know, in front of a lot of people.
02:34And one of the verses, one of the sayings he said was this.
02:39Isn't it interesting that we will be called and known to be children of God?
02:46Not by wearing a cross necklace.
02:49Anybody here wear a cross necklace on or some kind of Christian thing?
02:52No, that's okay.
02:54But Kui'e Johan has a cross necklace on right now.
02:57No, that's not a bad thing.
02:58We shouldn't not wear cross necklaces or something that shows that we're proud to be a Christian.
03:04But the more important thing that Jesus himself says is,
03:09Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
03:15So next time you remember, or sorry, next time you get into a little argument with your brother or your
03:23sister or someone else,
03:24remember Jesus' words.
03:26Do you want to represent Jesus well to other people?
03:30I think the answer is yes for all of us.
03:32If we want to truly represent Jesus and be called and known to be children of God,
03:37remember, blessed are those who make peace and are peacemakers.
03:42Once again, our verse, Matthew 5, 9.
03:46Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God, Matthew 5, 9.
03:54Very good.
03:54Hold your hands, close your hands, pray with me.
03:58Let's say it together.
03:59Father God, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ,
04:06He told us to be peacemakers, but more importantly, He showed us how to be a peacemaker by His example.
04:21He loved us, even while we were sinners.
04:27He died for us, He rose again.
04:31He will come with you, for as you shall be, by your Holy Spirit, be a peacemaker, and be known
04:42as the child of Jesus Christ.
04:46In Jesus' name, Jesus Christ.
04:50Give him a hand.
04:52And on to Sunday's free go.
04:54Teacher Miles will be your teacher today.
04:56If you want to...
