00:08I'm in the company of Mr. Alagos from the Turkish National Committee and Sir Chairman.
00:13Hi.
00:14Hi.
00:15Welcome.
00:16Thank you very much.
00:16How long have you been involved in CIGRE as the chair of the Turkish National Committee?
00:22It has been four years I became leader of the national committee of Turkey, Turkish CIGRE National Committee.
00:32What are the main activities of your committee?
00:36Okay, as everywhere in the world, all national committees are trying to connect electrical engineers together and what we are
00:45doing in Turkey is the same.
00:46And especially for the next generation, we are trying to get in touch with the young engineers and candidates of
00:56engineers.
00:57So we are preparing some colloquiums, some seminars, panels and some documentation and the serial published articles to fit the
01:10society.
01:12You have recently been nominated as a CERC chairman. Congratulations.
01:16Thank you very much.
01:17Can you tell us a little bit more about that?
01:20Okay.
01:21You know, in CIGRE there are four regional groups and CERC is one of them.
01:27It is Southeast European area and at the moment we have 17 countries in the organization.
01:38And three more candidates, countries to join the CIGRE National Committee.
01:46So we are dealing with these 20 countries.
01:52And especially we support each country, each other.
01:57And we are trying to use the advantage of being a neighborhood.
02:03So we come together very frequently.
02:07They have more relationship.
02:10But all other countries, we are coming together to share our experiences and to increase the knowledge of the engineers
02:21in our sector, in our area.
02:23That's the essence of CIGRE.
02:25Paris Station this year takes the lead on energy transition.
02:29Could you give us more details about how the Turkish National Committee is dealing with this important problematic of climate
02:39change?
02:39Okay.
02:41You know, the world is living in an interesting era at the moment.
02:46So every year or every month we are facing another crisis in the world.
02:51And we have to, as engineers, we have to find solutions to the world.
02:56So in our national committee, we analyze all conditions of the world, including the climate change.
03:05And also supply security is one of the big issues of the world.
03:10Turkey especially, and we have both Earth on Europe and Asia.
03:18And Europe and Asia are the lands who have the history of the world.
03:24We want to emphasize that we are bridge of the cultures and the bridge of the countries.
03:32So we believe we have a lot to do for the climate changes also.
03:38So we put some short-term and mid-term and long-term activities.
03:44One by one, we are achieving them.
03:47Thank you for coming by.
03:48You're welcome.
03:49Thank you very much.
