00:08I'm in the company of Mrs. Hu from RPG Engineering. Hi, welcome.
00:12Good morning Alice, thank you for having me here.
00:15Thank you. Could you tell us a little bit more about your own journey with Sigré?
00:20Why did you join Sigré in the first place?
00:23My journey with Sigré has been remarkable.
00:25I joined Sigré in 2009, and in 2008 I met one of the legends of HVDC,
00:34and he told me, Joanne, you should go to Sigré.
00:39You know, that's a good place for you to learn and to exchange ideas and network with people.
00:44And then, based on his advice, I joined Sigré, and starting with a few working groups.
00:50And then in 2011, I became the convener of a working group.
00:55And luckily, I was chosen by our B4 chair, Mohamed Rashwan, in 2014, to be his secretary.
01:07And after four years being the secretary, I became the chair of the study committee before until now.
01:13What a journey!
01:14Yes, yes, it's really fantastic.
01:16What are the benefits of joining Sigré, and maybe especially as a woman?
01:21Oh, that's a very good question.
01:23Actually, there are so many benefits I can talk about for maybe hours, but I'll keep it very short.
01:29First experience is to learn and to exchange your thought experience with all the colleagues working in the same areas.
01:39And also, you have access to many of the publications, you know, technical brochures, and future connections, electors.
01:52So I think that's a best place you can keep up with your knowledge in the same area.
01:58And you can participate to a session like the Paris session.
02:02Yes.
02:02How maybe you could share with us a special moment you lived within your journey with Sigré,
02:08and that could convince young engineers and maybe women to join Sigré?
02:14Oh, yes.
02:16You know, I think I'm one of the person that really have a good experience, you know, why, like, we
02:21should be with Sigré.
02:22I would say, you know, that my special part with Sigré is with people,
02:26because we have so many inspired and dedicated and passionate colleagues here working together to, you know, support our power
02:34industry.
02:35So people here, like, you know, my chair, Mohamed, and also TC chair, Marcio, all of them are very, you
02:47know,
02:47first of all, they are very good technically, but they are also very good at motivating young people and promoting
02:53young people
02:54to be part of the Sigré.
02:56I think that's very necessary to build up the next generation for Sigré for our future.
03:02Thank you for coming.
03:03Okay.
03:04Thank you very much.
