00:07I'm really glad to receive Mrs. Harla, the president of the Finland National
00:12Committee. Hi. Hello. Welcome. Thank you. How long have you been involved in this role of
00:19president of Finland National Committee? So I have been the president now 10 years and before
00:26that I have been in some other secret activities. So I have been in secret since 1990s. So
00:32I guess that is really important for you. Yes, it has been a quite large part of my professional
00:38career. So I have written papers being working group members, study committee members and so on.
00:43What are the activities of your national committee nowadays? So of course we take care of this
00:50national committee administrative issues. We organize meetings, sometimes working shops.
00:56We have this next generation network group and then we review the papers for conference
01:03and then we discuss actual topics sometimes. We know that the top leading subject on this
01:10Paris session is energy transition. Could you maybe give us some details on how your national
01:17community and Finland is dealing with climate change? So our government has very ambitious climate
01:25goals. Finland aims at being carbon neutral by 2035 and building a lot of wind power and connecting
01:35this to our grid is one part of that goal. And we are really building a lot of grid at
01:42the moment
01:42and there's a huge amount of wind power coming to the Finnish system. And that of course changes the system
01:49quite a lot.
01:50Regarding this period of uncertainty of acceleration, how this Paris session is special?
01:58I think that teams here and these papers and these tutorials, they are very topical and I have discussed with
02:07my colleagues here
02:08and they have told that it's not every session that there are so many actual topics because we need to
02:14learn new things
02:14because the system is changing and we don't learn them from the textbooks. We have to collaborate internationally
02:21and learn from others and hopefully also give to others something. So with what will you come back to Finland?
02:29So with many interesting discussions, papers, tutorials and we will have a seminar after that and discuss
02:35with us inside our national committee. Thank you. Thanks a lot. Thank you.
