00:27Hello and welcome.
00:28We have to be honest, it's not a very pleasant night for football.
00:31The rain has been coming down heavily in advance of this game.
00:35I'm Derek Ray in the commentary position and I'm joined for expert analysis by Sue Smith.
00:40And we can't wait for this one to start with justifiable cause.
00:44What are you expecting?
00:45Well, it's a pleasure to be here and I'm anticipating a good game today.
00:49The coaching staff have done all they can.
00:52Now it's about taking it onto the pitch.
01:11The line-up then for the hosts.
01:14Well, it's a 4-5-1 but I think it'll be more of a 4-2-3-1.
01:18It's become a real go-to for coaches.
01:20The two holding players give them stability.
01:22And with quick wingers either side, there's plenty of attacking intent with this.
01:42The starting line-up for Cagliari.
01:44It is a 4-3-3 but it's very narrow.
01:47Both wide forwards are tucked in.
01:49The midfield is compact.
01:50The wit's going to be provided from the full-backs when they attack.
01:53You'd expect lots of intricate play in and around the box
01:57because of how close they all are together.
02:14So, underway and we expect intensity, passion and a few goals for good measure.
02:21In a decent position.
02:23Well, snuffed it out completely.
02:29Jonsson.
02:38Here's Ranocchia.
02:43Oh, they have it again.
02:57And with that, the attack fizzles out.
03:03Well, that's asking for a caution.
03:18And in the right position to read it.
03:40Well, a good tackle.
03:46He's in here.
03:50Oh, excellent reflexes.
03:52Yeah, denied what looked like a certain goal.
03:54That's brilliant awareness.
03:59Now, sending us in.
04:01Well, not cleared away completely.
04:04Oh, that is a recovery and a half.
04:07Yeah, that looked nailed on, didn't it?
04:12Well, well, if only he'd been able to stay onside.
04:16Well, he's got to do better at getting himself back onside.
04:19He's just stood there.
04:20No idea what's going on around him.
04:26Good example of pressing without the ball.
04:30Now, opening things up.
04:33Oh, that is a penalty.
04:39Well, some might say he's been fortunate to avoid being shown the card.
04:43A goal!
04:45Accurate from the spot.
04:58Well, here it is again.
04:59The keeper thinks it's going straight down the middle.
05:02So he doesn't die.
05:03It makes for an easy finish in the end.
05:10Back on the way.
05:11And 1-0 it is.
05:13Let's see what happens next.
05:20Oh, managing to beat him.
05:24And there it is.
05:26Two goals in a matter of minutes.
05:29Incredible stuff.
05:37Well, here's the replay.
05:38And just look at the way he glides past the defender.
05:41Makes it look so easy.
05:43And what's new, he slots it away nicely.
05:45It's a quality finish.
05:48So the ball rolling again.
05:502-0 the score.
05:57Very good challenge.
06:06Flowing here.
06:08Wasn't holding back with that challenge.
06:22Straight into that human barrier.
06:34Give it away.
06:46Tremendous vision.
06:49Clever defending.
06:51Yeah, he was on to that before it even happened.
07:04Oh, Jan Palu.
07:06Just have to make sure they don't get caught on the counter-attack.
07:10To make it closer.
07:12And attacking with real pace and development.
07:15All that was missing was a goal.
07:17Oh, it's a really quick counter-attack that was.
07:20They moved the ball with pace to get them up the pitch so quickly.
07:24Created a great opportunity.
07:26Just couldn't quite put the ball in the back of the net.
07:42He has teammates around him.
07:45He's in behind.
07:46A goal!
07:47That's two for him today.
07:49They simply can't stop him.
07:51No wonder he's celebrating.
07:59Well, look how he gets round his marker with a lovely bit of skill.
08:02And then once he's through, there was never any doubt, was there?
08:06Hits it hard and true and the keeper just can't react in time.
08:10So, on with the game.
08:12And when one team cuts loose in this fashion, it's hard to know what to do next.
08:20And there it is, the half-time whistle.
08:45And there it is, the half-time whistle.
08:52I have a sniper.
08:54Oh!
09:15The half-time whistle.
09:17But I am from mixer to the Would you questo?
09:43So the second half begins
09:45and sometimes this is what you get
09:47one team accelerating away
09:54Skipping fast as opponents
09:58attacking with vigour
10:04determined defending
10:14Can he deliver?
10:16Can he deliver?
10:17Oh that's a splendid save
10:19Well it's the sign of a good goalkeeper
10:21to keep your concentration levels high
10:23having had nothing to do
10:25Oh my word
10:26is that the first time the keeper's touched it?
10:28And he's fired over the corner
10:32Might do damage on the break
10:35Successfully winning the ball back
10:41Oh good looking run
10:51Drilling it
10:53Oh what a save
11:02Corner kick played in
11:04And good safe hands on display
11:09This has been comfortable
11:10That back line just don't seem to have an answer
11:13There's a real quality when they go forward
11:15The movement
11:17The crisp passes
11:18I wonder how many they'll get if they continue with this tempo
11:21Sorry to break in Sue
11:22But there's a chance
11:23Oh that's marvellous goalkeeping
11:25Yeah he anticipated the shot
11:27Made himself big
11:28That's great stuff
11:31Delivering it
11:33Just got it out of there
11:41Well gifting away possession
11:43Not only prevented it from going over the line
11:53Oh great attacking play
12:02Closing down
12:04Succeeded in winning it back
12:06And given acres of space to attack here
12:08It comes to nothing in the end
12:11Good conditions for the counter
12:19Unsuccessfully cut out
12:20And I'll tell you what
12:21There is a confident footballer for you
12:31Of a mind to shoot
12:33Oh strained every sinew to get there
12:42Trying to deliver it accurately
12:45And fine goalkeeping
12:48The pressure was high
12:49And they could be in here
12:52Well it might still work out for them
12:59And showing grit to stop the attack
13:02That's excellent awareness isn't it
13:04Knew exactly where to be
13:13Perfect challenge
13:16Well that's how to outwit your opponent
13:24Oh he's through here
13:28And a wonderful diving save to deny the opportunity
13:32So the manager decides to go to the bench
13:35A bit of a quiet performance from him today
13:39And over it comes
13:41Under pressure to get it away
13:44But it just petered out
13:49And he might be through here
13:53Well going for power with that shot
13:55But it didn't happen for him at all
13:57No it's definitely not
13:58Sometimes you've got to just place it
14:01Find the corners
14:05That's how to pick a pass
14:07Correct timing
14:09And in with a real chance
14:11Another goal
14:12The lead grows to four now
14:15A rampant display
14:22Well have a look at this
14:23He just glides past the defender with ease
14:26And what a finish
14:27He goes for power
14:28It was never in doubt
14:30He just looks so confident running through
14:39He read the situation defensively
14:42And did his job
14:44I don't know if you're wondering about added time
14:46Two minutes it'll be
14:55Oh what a start
15:11Playing it in
15:12A bit short with the clearance
15:17And there it is
15:18The full time whistle here
15:19And it's a victory for the visitors
15:23Oh managing to beat him
15:29And there it is
15:33Yeah
15:33And there it is
15:35It's not
15:35Oh
15:36Oh
15:37Oh
15:37Oh
15:37Oh
15:38Oh
15:39Oh
15:44You
