00:00And I hate to bring it up there, Craig, but we had more of the same when it came to
00:06the
00:06refs this weekend.
00:08And if you watched any of that Detroit Green Bay game, boy, oh boy, there was when you
00:14have the players and you have the coach and you have the pundits and everyone going, you've
00:22got to be kidding.
00:23It was some of the most egregious calls that we have seen all year long at some of the
00:30biggest moments in the game.
00:32Now, is that the reason why Green Bay lost?
00:34No.
00:35Green Bay lost because nobody can hold on to the damn ball.
00:37And you have a kicker named Smack who should be Smack for not actually making a 26-yard
00:43field goal or a 40-yard field goal that could have put this game out of reach.
00:48But it doesn't take away from the fact that more the officiating gross, and it was especially
00:58gross with some of those calls in that game.
01:01But it's not, I repeat, not the reason why Green Bay lost, which I think people lose sight
01:08of, Mish.
01:09Yeah, I don't know.
01:10I feel like I watched a lot of that game and maybe I just missed that part.
01:15I don't know.
01:16Like, I saw a lot of penalties toward the end of the game that Green Bay kept getting
01:22penalized, right?
01:22And Detroit kept moving and moving and moving and moving a little bit closer toward the end.
01:27But, you know, the sense I had in that game was that it was a couple of things.
01:32First of all, Green Bay was my pick of the week again, and that came through, so I was
01:35happy with that.
01:36But I didn't feel good at the end of the game because I knew I got lucky.
01:39First of all, Detroit goes for it on fourth down in stupidity half the time.
01:43I mean, Campbell's just, like, I mean, they're going nowhere playing like this.
01:47Like, it's above me.
01:49And then the other thing is Gibbs could have easily ran in the end zone, and then Green
01:52Bay wouldn't have covered either.
01:53So it's not like I'm beating my chest over catching three and a half in this one.
01:57But the truth was, it was my pick.
02:00But the way that I see this is exactly the same that I saw going in, which is, I think
02:06Green Bay is better than Detroit.
02:07I think Detroit won, yeah, by three.
02:10I don't think Detroit's very good.
02:12Like, if that's the best offense that the Lions have to show at home against the Packers,
02:17it's going to be an up-and-down season.
02:18So my opinion stays, Joe, on the Lions, is that, you know, nine wins, nine and eight,
02:24Green Bay, nine and eight, ten and seven, something like that.
02:27The team that I think is the dangerous team right now in that division are the Bears, man.
02:33Like, the Bears, to me, look like the best team in division through where we stand right
02:38now.
02:38I still believe that.
02:40But to your point, could it have been a wider finish?
02:45Yes, Detroit could have won by more, of course.
02:48If Campbell just kicks a field goal instead of going for fourth and five, Gibbs runs into
02:51the end zone, which he could have done, but they kept kneeling to kick the field goal
02:54in the end, which is what you're supposed to do.
02:56So Detroit deserves to win the game.
02:59Yes, they deserve to win the game.
03:01And, yes, the Packers missed a field goal there, too.
03:04Butker, Butker, by the way, between Butker and Smack, I mean, my gosh, what's going on
03:07with these kickers in the NFL?
03:09A lot of guys missing field goals these days.
03:12So, yeah, couldn't you see it?
03:16Like, let's say, hypothetically, I end up being right and Chicago wins the division.
03:20Let's just play that game.
03:21Joe, doesn't this feel to you like we're going to get to Week 17 and it's going to be Detroit
03:28or Green Bay, one of the two of them for a spot in the playoffs or something.
03:31Like, they're both going to be around the same, around the same record.
03:34They kind of feel like similar teams.
03:37I will say for Green Bay's point of view, even though, of course, whatever he did off
03:40the field is, you know, not part of the football discussion.
03:43I'm not going to get into that.
03:44But getting Jacobs back does look like that's going to help Green Bay, Joe.
03:47Like, I mean, he definitely looks better than the other running backs that they have
03:50there.
03:50So, that is a little bit of a boost.
03:53Well, what always made him unique was that what he can do out of the passing game.
04:00And again, he dropped a touchdown yesterday.
04:03He did.
04:04What he brings to the table, I still think the running aspect of it is going to take a
04:09little while.
04:09But obviously, having another weapon like that out of the backfield is only going to help.
04:14But I was more than impressed with that defense of Green Bay.
04:20They have really, and they're getting, keep in mind, they're getting one of the best defensive
04:26players in the game back at some point.
04:29And already, that defense, they made Jamar Gibbs work for everything.
04:34And don't forget, got him to fumble a couple of times.
04:37There were two turnovers there in the, also, that led to points there for Green Bay as well.
04:44236 yards of total offense in the first quarter between those two teams yesterday.
04:50236 yards of offense, the most in a game this year.
04:55And yet, it didn't sniff the over.
04:58Think about that for a minute.
05:00My goodness.
05:01Think about that for a minute.
05:01Think about that for a minute.
