00:02Darwin's ageing morgue at Royal Darwin Hospital is causing a lot of issues.
00:07Essentially, pathology staff who work directly above the morgue and share one air conditioning
00:12system say they've been left feeling physically sick from the smell of decomposing bodies.
00:18It's an issue staff say has persisted for a number of years now, and despite the fact
00:22that they've made multiple complaints to the NT government, they say they've only been
00:27given air freshener and masks as a fix.
00:30The Health Services Union and the Australian Medical Association says the morgue is not
00:35only old and likely not well equipped, they say it's now too small and dealing with an
00:41overflow of bodies on a regular basis.
00:43The NT health minister wasn't exactly able to say what's causing the issue of the smell,
00:49but he did say there could be a fix.
00:52We are looking at the air conditioning system at the moment.
00:54There is $2 million in the budget, and we'll continue to look at that and take the necessary
00:59action as quickly as possible.
01:01But despite this renewed promise from the government, it's unlikely that anything will be done any
01:07time soon, and pathology workers will have to keep going to work in these conditions for
01:12a little while longer.

01:16Everything has had tremendous position for media.很多
