00:41Zayed Al-Nayan.
00:42Where he was honoured for his incredible bravery as well.
00:46But remember on 30th of September 2026 Captainmarchar was piloting Fly Dubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
00:55When his co-pilot violently attacked him in an attempt to crash the plane.
01:00Despite the massive blood loss, also blurred vision and excruciating pain, Captain Machar managed to unlock the cockpit door.
01:10And right now this allows the crew members, passengers including a dentist on board.

01:27In UAE, felicitation by UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nayan.
01:32Where you can actually see on the back of his head a massive line of surgical stitches running across the
01:38back of his head.
01:43Well, the stitches on his head are actually from the emergency surgeries that were required right after he suffered through
01:49a compound depressed skull fracture.
01:51His skull was struck repeatedly with a crash axe during the mid-air cockpit assault.
01:58And in addition to his severe head injury, Captain Machar also required heavy suturing.
02:03In fact, Pooja Shelly is joining in live to share with us more details on the same as well.
02:09Well, Pooja, we can actually see how the bravery that Captain Smithmarchar showed during the September 30th attack mid-air
02:18is being shown on the back of his head.
02:20Massive line of surgical stitches are now going viral.
02:24This is a mark of his bravery.
02:26Sakshi, this is the first time in an official confirmation visibly of the kind of injury that Captain Smithmarchar had
02:33to go through.
02:34Remember, being hit on your head with a crash axe can only mean it could have gone to immediate death
02:39casualties.
02:40He may not have even been able to bear it and could have collapsed or gone unconscious.
02:44Despite this injury on the back of his head, he's been able to open the door so that other passengers
02:51could come in and he could fight off the attacker.
02:53Remember, the reason we are showing you this, the first time we saw Captain Smithmarchar was when his head was
02:59bandaged.
02:59When he spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well, we saw the
03:05bandages.
03:06But this is the first time that we can see the marks from the injury, like you mentioned, surgery marks
03:11as well.
03:12And it also corroborates what he said, that he was sitting on his chair when his co-pilot said that
03:18he needs to now be sitting down for prayer time.
03:21He came towards him from behind and that's when he decided to slash the axe, crash axe over his head.
03:28And this is a reminder because we are seeing his head for the first time in this video as he
03:32received the highest owner from UAE.
03:34To remind us of the courage Captain Smithmarchar had to receive that injury on the head and then fight off
03:41the attacker, open the door in hope that others could come and intervene.
03:44That is remarkable bravery and I think it's incredible because for the first time I have goosebumps while I'm narrating
03:50this to you.
03:51To just imagine yourself in that situation, to show presence of mind, Sakshi.
03:55And also to add here, apart from Captain Smithmarchar, the crew members of the Sky Dubai flight also were awarded
04:01highest top civilian honours by the UAE.
04:04Absolutely Pooja and God's grace there and may he remain all hail and hearty, you know, and the recovery, speedy
04:11recovery to him from all of us, prayers going on so that he recovers absolutely fine from all those injuries
04:18very, very soon.
04:19We are given to understand that he still has some effects like headaches and vision issues.
