A review of legislative council election results across several states reveals significant setbacks for the Congress party, which failed to win any seats in the highlighted contests. In Karnataka, the National Democratic Alliance secured all four seats, with three going to the Bharatiya Janata Party and one to the Janata Dal (Secular). In Uttar Pradesh, out of eleven seats, the BJP bagged six while the Samajwadi Party won five. Maharashtra saw the NDA win three of five seats, with the Maha Vikas Aghadi securing two. In Bihar, the NDA took four seats, the Rashtriya Janata Dal won one, Jan Suraaj secured one, and independents bagged two, showing regional parties holding ground while Congress remains absent.

00:00Let's take a look at the other states where we have seen MLC polls and what the result has been.
00:06Unfortunately, the only similarity is the fact that the Congress is zero in the other states as well.
00:12So Karnataka, we've shown you the NDA forum, 4-3 to the BJP, 1 to the JDS, zero for the
00:17Congress of those four.
00:19Let's look at the other states as well.
00:20In Uttar Pradesh, where you had in fact 11 seats up for grabs, the BJP has managed to get six,
00:27the SP has managed to get five.
00:30The Congress is nowhere in the picture, but this is in fact something that's also a very interesting number
00:34because you see the Samajwadi party also holding their own gaining in several seats,
00:40which is something that the BJP will be worried about.
00:43Maharashtra, let's look at the Maharashtra numbers.
00:46Where of the five seats, essentially, the Mahavikas Aghadi is at two out of five
00:51and you have the NDA, which is at three on five.
00:55So again here, you've got the regional leaders stepping up,
00:59the regional satraps putting up a fight.
01:01As far as Bihar goes, in Bihar, you've got essentially the NDA at four, the RJD at one,
01:08the Jan Suraj managed to get one, independence at two.
01:12Off, in fact, the NDA breakdown there, three, the BJP won with the JDU.
01:17So again here, Congress nowhere to be seen.
01:19The regional satraps are holding their own in these seats, as you can make out,
01:23whether it's UP, whether it's Bihar or Maharashtra.
01:26But the Congress has taken a hit and how?
