00:00No question about it.
00:01It's that time of the year now where I got to start putting my candidates
00:04together for my Heisman Trophy vote.
00:07And each and every single year I go through this process now and I look at,
00:11and by the way, I know people see the emblem on my shirt and they say,
00:15well, University of Miami, he's obviously going to go for Miami guys.
00:19That's not the case.
00:20I was always a guy that believed because back in the day,
00:23I want to give justice to the players who deserve it.
00:26And for me, I even voted for Tim Tebow back in the day, Florida Gator.
00:32I voted for him twice, actually, for the Heisman Trophy.
00:34I voted for Cam Newton when he was at Auburn.
00:37I like giving the award to the player that I think is the most deserving
00:41and really one of the most deserving awards in all of American sports
00:46is the Heisman Trophy.
00:47Let's start it off here with my top five here.
00:49This kid, Jesse LeGray here from Oregon State, I guess Messamaker too,
00:54obviously going in from North Texas to going into Oregon State here
00:58has really made the difference.
01:00But this kid here is on pace.
01:01Look at that number at the bottom.
01:05148 yards receiving a game.
01:08This kid's got 46 catches.
01:10He's averaging 22 yards a catch.
01:13I mean, it's incredible in what he's doing there with these 14 touchdowns.
01:18There is no doubt.
01:19He's also signed to go back next year and go back to Corvallis there
01:24and play there for the Oregon State Beavers there.
01:28So, again, I think this kid's having a spectacular year.
01:32At number four, look, got a big game coming up in a couple weeks.
01:36I got C.J. Carr, the quarterback from Notre Dame.
01:39I got him there.
01:40I think that he has had a really good year.
01:42I think the completion percentage is high.
01:45I think his numbers are great.
01:46I think he commands that offense.
01:48There's a lot of weapons on that Notre Dame offense.
01:51I think they got a great running game,
01:53and I think they got one of the best offensive lines in all of pro football.
01:56And I think C.J. Carr is in that conversation to go to New York.
02:00At number three, listen, I got Malachi Tony.
02:07He is the greatest wide receiver the University of Miami has ever produced.
02:12That means Michael Irvin, Andre Johnson.
02:16That means Santana Moss.
02:18That means so many legendary players that have played at that program.
02:22That's just not me talking.
02:24Michael Irvin's at the games.
02:26You guys see him on the sidelines each and every single week.
02:29He's the best player we've ever had.
02:31And you want to hear something wild?
02:33He's 18 years old.
02:35A year ago, when he was making catches against Notre Dame, he was 17 years old.
02:41He's a community kid.
02:43One of the best things we have had in over 20 years at that program is having a local star,
02:50giving back to the community.
02:52And Malachi Tony is a great representative for the University of Miami.
02:57He is having a spectacular year,
02:59and I do think he's going to make it to New York and be one of the finalists here.
03:03And number two, another cane, Darian Mensah.
03:07Take a look at the completion percentage.
03:1181.4.
03:12I happen to be in agreement with a lot of people.
03:15I want to see this football team play an elite program.
03:19I want to see them play a top-flight school.
03:22I want to see them.
03:23Now, look, Wake Forest is much better than what people thought.
03:27And for me, when they struggled against them a little bit, I was like,
03:30Wake Forest?
03:31Wake Forest is not that bad.
03:32However, that's not the elite of the elite.
03:35That's not one of the teams that are going to be the 12 teams that are going to make it
03:38to the football playoffs.
03:40That's not going to be down that lane.
03:42I'm with everyone.
03:43I want to see Miami in two weeks.
03:45And again, I think this weekend's game on Halloween night against UNC,
03:50don't let it be a trap game.
03:52I think Belichick's going to throw some things at them this weekend.
03:55And let's see how Darian Manson and Malachi Tony, let's see how they respond.
04:00Look, right now, unless something catastrophic happens, God forbid,
04:06Jeremiah Smith is the best player in the country.
04:10Jeremiah Smith, the wide receiver at Ohio State, is not only the best player in the country,
04:15he may be one of the top 10 players in the history of college football.
04:20I mean, he's the great, he may go down as the greatest Ohio State Buckeye of all time.
04:28We're not just talking about, well, this guy's going to turn out to be a really great player.
04:32He's going to be like a Chris Carter, a Hall of Fame.
04:35I'm talking about him being the best football player that's ever played in college football.
04:41It is just incredible.
04:43It's incredible on where he is.
04:45Here's the odds right there on the Heisman Trophy, too.
04:49As you can see, I'm with those odds.
04:52Unless something crazy happens, Jeremiah Smith has got my vote for the Heisman.
04:58He's got my vote for the Walter Camp Player of the Year.
05:01He's got my vote for the Boletnikov.
05:04He's got my vote for every single Consensus All-American football team.
05:08There is no question he's going to go down as one of the truly greatest.
05:13Now, you've got a Heisman game coming up in two weeks for both Darian Mensah and for Malachi Tony.
05:20If those guys go into that ballgame against Notre Dame,
05:23and let's just say Malachi Tony puts up 200 yards in receiving yards,
05:28then we're going to start having a conversation where those votes may get a little shaky on the Jeremiah Smith
05:35side.
05:35Same with Darian Mensah.
05:38That game in two weeks is going to mean a lot.
