00:00And, Chuck, when you see a team like Indiana, you and I know growing up,
00:03Indiana was one of the worst programs in college football history.
00:07You get the right guy and you spend the right money on the right people.
00:11You can make this thing happen.
00:14Let me ask you this.
00:15Do you buy the argument that if we go to a 2014 playoff, conferences are meaningless now?
00:23No.
00:24No.
00:25No.
00:25No.
00:26I still think that you have to, again, I think, well,
00:30you know.
00:30Let me give you an example.
00:32Why should Ohio State share revenue with Minnesota?
00:36They shouldn't.
00:37There you go.
00:38But then we're talking like.
00:40And they look at Notre Dame and they're like, yeah, I know.
00:42Yes, exactly what we're talking about.
00:44Okay.
00:44So then we're talking about something like the Premier League where you're going to
00:48take the top 60 football programs, Chuck, and you're going to put them in one league
00:52and have, like, it's going to be the Premier League.
00:55And then you're going to have a smaller league with, say, San Diego State, some of the other
01:00programs like TCU.
01:02So if that's where you think you're going here, the television networks have a lot to do with
01:07that, too.
01:08Is that what they want?
01:11Look, you and I, neither one of us work for one of the two major television networks that
01:18are controlling this.
01:19So I think we can speak freely here, right?
01:22Guess who doesn't want competition for dollars in college football media rights?
01:27ESPN and Fox.
01:28You know, the irony is, if college football television rights were negotiated the way
01:35the NFL negotiates television rights, first of all, there'd be more money to the universities.
01:41It would cost ESPN and Fox more money.
01:44And by the way, more networks would end up getting smaller pieces of college football,
01:49just like we see with the NFL.
01:51ESPN and Fox want their monopoly.
01:53And the only way they get to keep their monopoly is that they make the conferences matter more
01:56and let the conferences decide how this works.
01:59They're the ones that created this Protect Sports, the Protect Sports Business Act.
