00:00I want an offseason. I want trades. I want free agency. I want to know where Michael King is
00:06going to sign. I want to get into the winter of Tariq Skubal. I want to know what the Dodgers
00:12are going to do, what the Yankees are going to do, what the Cubs are going to do, what the
00:15Phillies are going to do. If you screw this up, Manfred, I'm telling you.
00:26But you did it for the city. You did it for the state. And you boys ought to be awfully
00:33proud to know that you're the first ever Milwaukee Brewer team to be world champion.
00:47Ah, yes. The Milwaukee Brewers, for the first time in history, World Series champs. Unbelievable.
00:56If you love baseball, if you love sports, if you love a long-suffering fan base finally
01:01seeing their first championship, yes. Cheers to the Milwaukee Brewers. The back page of
01:08the New York Post hits the rights notes, as per usual, a wait of 57 years. And honestly,
01:15to me, this goes down as one of the great single seasons in baseball history. I think it's
01:24important here to remember, and I know what the payroll is, and I know what the market size
01:28is. For the last four years, no one in baseball had more wins in the regular season than the
01:35Milwaukee Brewers. And they lost to the Diamondbacks. And they lost to the Mets and the Pete Alonso
01:40series. And they got swept by the Dodgers. And there were people like me who wondered aloud
01:47if they could ever get over the hump. And not only did they win 103 games in the regular season,
01:52they got over the hump in the best possible way. They were unbelievable this entire postseason.
01:59The way that they beat the Padres. I picked the Padres to win. The two hottest teams down the
02:05stretch in Major League Baseball were the Brewers and the Padres. I don't regret the pick because I
02:10needed to see them win in the postseason. And they did it. And then they sweep away the big bad
02:15two-time champion LA Dodgers, a Dodgers team that swept them out of the playoffs the year before.
02:21And then to win the World Series in what felt like Milwaukee South in Tampa, the crowd was going nuts.
02:29I mean, Rays fans refused to step foot. I don't blame them. And that jump of a ballpark. I mean,
02:35just an unbelievable scene. And you take a look at the nuggets of domination here when it comes to the
02:41Milwaukee Brewers and who they are and what they accomplished this season. And when you take a
02:47look at their route and their path, I mean, it's just unbelievable. You look at the postseason ERA,
02:551-9-8. I mean, that's remarkable when you look at it from the standpoint of starting pitching.
03:03And a bullpen that had a 1-3-8 ERA. I mean, this is one of the great bullpen runs
03:09in the history of
03:11baseball postseason. We could talk about, you know, the Nasty Boys with the Cincinnati Reds.
03:17We could talk about the Yankees in the late 90s. We could talk about the Kansas City Royals
03:23and their bullpen 2014 and then 2015 when they won the World Series. This bullpen has good or better
03:30than any. And you think about it. And this is how we need to frame it. And I think this
03:34is important
03:34small picture, big picture for baseball. The Brewers are great. This is not some little engine that
03:42could happy, happy, joy, joy story. They have superstars. Jackson Churio, superstar. You look at him
03:48and he had 11 hits in a five-game series. Christian Yelich, superstar, team captain. You saw that interview
03:57he did with Alex Rodriguez on Fox a couple of nights ago where they named him the captain. And the
04:02first
04:02thing he said, I have to call Robin Yount and make sure it's okay. The Miz, he's the best pitcher
04:08in baseball all year. He was phenomenal last night. 2-0 with a 0.84 ERA in the World Series.
04:16How about my guy, William Contreras? He won the MVP and I was so happy that he got the MVP
04:22because what Contreras did. Look at this. 381 batting average. You take a look at what he did
04:30nabbing four runners. He threw out four runners. Two in game number two, which was such a monster
04:38swing game in this series. Absolutely incredible. And also, he was 10 for 13 in terms of ABS challenges,
04:46which is a big part of it. I love what Pat Murphy said about Contreras in terms of his leadership,
04:51where he said he's a pit bull, right? You don't want to pet him because he's going to bite. But
04:57in
04:57terms of what Murphy and the rest of the clubhouse learned from him, it's just unbelievable. And how
05:02about Ashby? Unreal. 18 scoreless. McGill, unbelievable. I mean, they roll four or five deep in terms of
05:09the domination. They've got stars everywhere. Great stories everywhere. Cooper Pratt. I mean,
05:16this guy, the interview, he's been in the majors for a cup of coffee, four months. And the interview
05:22he did after they won the World Series with Tom Verducci on Fox on the field last night,
05:26he didn't even know what was going on. I mean, he was like a, I'll use another dog analogy. He
05:31was
05:31like a couple month old puppy. He was just, he couldn't believe what was transpiring. I mean,
05:36it was just, it was, he was awestruck. He had six straight hits, then the sacrifice fly.
05:42And this team's so tough, so talented, so likable, an epic, dominant, majestic, historic run,
05:49just an incredible, sensational season, a worthy champion. And you look at who they are,
05:56you look at what they've done, you understand Bob Uecker who passed away and the impact that he had.
06:01You think about history, right? You know, I never saw a Knicks title before my Knicks won this past
06:08year. You know, if you're an Indiana football fan, you didn't never in a million years could have
06:13dreamed something like you witnessed with the championship. And now we have this. I mean,
06:18it's unbelievable. And you think about the 82 Brewers and Cecil Cooper and Robin Yowd and Paul
06:22Molitor and Raleigh Fingers and Gorman Thomas. And, you know, there's Pat Murphy talking about Bob Uecker
06:28before they popped the champagne. That was unbelievable. You know, even the 90s Brewers
06:34and they're in the American League. I loved, you know, P.J. Serhoff and Greg Vaughn used to hit bombs
06:39and Kevin Seitzer and Pat Listash. And these guys never won the big one. So this was awesome.
06:46And here's the deal. And I want to check myself at the same time because I remember everything I've
06:51ever said. I picked the Padres to win. I picked the Dodgers to win. And I destroyed the Brewers on
06:57sunshine time for not making the trade for Tarek Skubal. I don't regret the take at all because my
07:06whole point was win the World Series. And there was no evidence in the three years prior, even as
07:13they were great in the regular season, that this group can get it done in the playoffs. In fact,
07:18Joe Davis and John Smoltz brilliantly, eloquently told the story when you take a look at Pat Murphy
07:24talking to these guys, talking to the broadcasters on whether or not this group was capable of winning
07:30the World Series. He said, I didn't fully believe it until the regular season series against the
07:34Dodgers, which is why on shine time, we play the hot button hits. We talk baseball all the time.
07:40Some series are bigger deals than others. And that was the first moment you said, maybe. And then that
07:46National League is unbelievable. If you can navigate that, you can obviously win and, you know, win the
07:51World Series. There was no American League team that could beat anyone in the National League.
07:55And the fact that they didn't get Skubal, you know, they wanted Skubal, but they didn't want to give
08:00up certain guys. And then they go out, they beat Skubal's team, the Dodgers in the NLCS, and then
08:06they win a championship. Awesome. Absolutely awesome. Everything about this journey, everything about
08:12this path. Everything was just absolutely positively incredible. And this baseball season was off the
08:19charts. And let me tell you something. The playoffs were incredible. Watching the Brewers win, great for
08:25your sports soul. All these series, right? I mean, we could start talking about the wildcard round with
08:31the Phillies and the Braves. We could start talking about what transpired with the Padres and the Brewers,
08:36the Guardians and the White Sox, the Guardians and the Rays, the Dodgers and the Brewers with
08:43Milwaukee coming back in all these games. And then really three bangers in a five-game series. And
08:49last night was just so special in every possible way. And this on the heels of a majestic dynamite
08:55regular season with twists and turns. The Red Sox basically had three different seasons rolled
09:00into one. Everyone's hanging on every single moment in July in terms of the trade deadline. The deals
09:07that are gonna be made. It was fast. It was furious. The new playoff format is fantastic. If you ruin
09:13this with a work stoppage, Rob Manfred, I'm gonna be on your ass on shine time every single day. I'm
09:19telling you right now, I will not rest in any way, shape or form. Don't you dare ruin the game
09:25that I
09:25love? Baseball has been hotter and better than ever. Don't give me a work stoppage. Don't do it. In
09:32fact, I'm just saying I don't want any work stoppage. It's not even about, well, let's get to the games.
09:36No,
09:37no. I want an offseason. I want trades. I want free agency. I want to know where Michael King is
09:44gonna sign. I want to get into the winter of Tariq Scoogle. I want to know what the Dodgers are
09:49gonna do,
09:50what the Yankees are gonna do, what the Cubs are gonna do, what the Phillies are gonna do. If you
09:54screw this
09:55up, Manfred, I'm telling you, I want, I want a December. I want a December to remember. I want
10:02for the holidays to be able to buy my kids tickets. Are you gonna, are you gonna give us games?
10:08Are you
10:08gonna do it? Are you gonna, can we buy jerseys for new players who are gonna be on teams? And
10:14if you
10:14mess, if you mess, because I live for the baseball season, I live for the marathon, I live for the
10:20grind. I'm sad today that the season is over. If you mess with my offseason, if you mess with
10:26pitchers and catchers, if you mess with spring training, if you mess with the season, I'll never
10:32forgive you. Because let me tell you something. Baseball is in an unbelievable place. Baseball
10:37had to work hard to get back to where it is, where it's a monster topic. Every show talks about
10:44it. The
10:45ratings, even for small market, small payroll teams. Listen, at the end of the day, the ratings
10:51for game one, game two, game four, unbelievable. And clearly, you could have a smaller payroll
10:58and you can win. So I don't want to hear anything about a word stoppage because you have haves and
11:05have nots. Garbage nonsense. Did you happen to see the one seed versus the one seed where the
11:11payroll is ranked? Would you rather be a half in terms of money? Of course. And let me tell
11:16you something, Manfred, if you want to start messing around with the salaries, you want a salary cap?
11:21Great. Give me a salary cap. Give me a salary floor. Because there are a lot of teams in baseball,
11:26like the Pittsburgh Pirates, like the Cincinnati Reds, like the Colorado Rockies, like the Vegas,
11:32Sacramento, Oakland A's, who just don't give a damn about spending on a baseball team. You know,
11:37there should be teams in baseball. And I get all these fans who comment on the YouTube page and go
11:42and they celebrate with me on social media, on X, on Instagram. The Pirates fans want what the
11:49Brewers have. Why wouldn't you? Of course you can ultimately win a championship if you had an owner
11:56who gave a damn. The Cincinnati Reds could be the Milwaukee Brewers. They choose not to be. So I'm
12:03telling you, Manfred, I'm on to you. Don't you dare in any way, shape, or form ruin the game that
12:09I
12:09love. Baseball is better than ever. Hotter than ever. There's more parody in baseball. There's more
12:15celebration in baseball. The players are unbelievable. The ratings are great. The buzz is great.
12:21You screw this up. You have baseball go back to the Stone Ages. I will never forgive you. Let's get
12:30back to the celebration in the great state of Wisconsin. Well, the party's going to continue
12:34tonight when the Packers host the Panthers. Maybe this person will be there.
12:56That's like our associate producer Skylar Rubin for a hot edition of Shine Time. I gotta tell you,
13:02I can't get enough of the buzz and the feel of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and you know Lambeau's
13:10going to be lit. Obviously, it's always historic at Lambeau Field. Always historic when it comes to
13:16the energy and the home field. And now, because, you know, Wisconsin fans are punch drunk and,
13:22you know, drunk based upon the Brewers winning a championship and no one has stopped partying
13:28and you should never stop partying, the ambiance at Lambeau is going to be unbelievable. You're
13:33going to have two salty teams playing tonight, and I think this is all sorts of fun. The Green
13:38Bay Packers, the Carolina Panthers. Carolina just got destroyed last week. I mean, the fact
13:45that they lost 43-13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, that was one of the strangest,
13:51honest, weirdest results in this amazing, topsy-turvy, unpredictable NFL season. It's just
13:57been, that was insane. Sheer insanity. And Green Bay salty coming into this one because they didn't
14:04play well. The kicker missed a couple kicks. Josh Jacobs dropped the touchdown. The officiating
14:09was terrible. They blamed the officials a little too much in this one. And honestly, I think the
14:14fact that they couldn't win on a day where Dan Campbell couldn't coach his way out of a paper
14:18bang. That's a problem. Carolina's 3-3. Green Bay is 4-3. And honestly, I don't have full
14:26trust in either team. The spread on this one is Green Bay favored by 3.5. I'm going to grab
14:33the points with the Carolina Panthers. I would not be surprised to see the Carolina Panthers
14:38win the game. I think that Tedderola McMillan has a great matchup in this one. I can't see
14:44Bryce Young being dreadful again. I think he has a good matchup going up against the Green Bay
14:50Packers defense. So, I'm going to grab the points in this one with the Carolina Panthers plus 3.5.
14:58Two free throws from Wilson. A little bit of life. But Brunson buries a three after crossing a pal.
15:06You said we have to trick ourselves to be motivated? Yeah. What did I say at the end of my
15:10presser last time? Do you remember? Were you here for that?
15:14Yeah, you said you'll see where you are at like 20 games. That part? No, no, no. How?
15:18Do the opposite. Yeah, don't praise us anymore. So, there's the trick. Trickery, right?
15:27Trick or treats right before Halloween. Love that from Jalen Brunson back home in Chicago. And listen, this was a
15:35spot in a situation watching the game last night where the Knicks looked dead. And this was going to be
15:42in route to being a dreadful loss right after the first win of the year. Great win at home against
15:48the
15:48Detroit. Back to back against Chicago. You have to find a way to win. How they won with Jalen Brunson
15:55on fire. The shooting slump is officially a thing of the past. JB, the cap, couldn't miss. I mean, this
16:01was unbelievable. All hail the king of New York. Shot after shot after shot. Move after move after move. This
16:08was unbelievable. Close to 40 points for Jalen Brunson. Absolutely sensational. Tyler Kolick was phenomenal off the bench. Excellent stuff
16:18from Landry
16:18Shamit. Excellent stuff from Carl Anthony Towns. Could not have been any more impressed with the way that this team,
16:26OGN and OB and company, fought back, able to get a win, and able to handle adversity. Now, this group
16:33obviously won a championship, dealt with adversity. You can't be surprised. But when you start 0-3, even after you
16:41raised the banner for the first time in my lifetime,
16:44still New York, it's still New York, it's still the Knicks. That's still a deal here when you look at
16:50it. So, I thought last night was pretty sensational. I thought last night was pretty awesome. I thought the way
16:57the Knicks came back was pretty noteworthy. Back to back nights, playing, going from New York to Chicago.
17:04Caleb Wilson is a ridiculously talented rookie. That was a phenomenal, sensational night. Comeback for the Knicks. To the rival
17:13Sixers, where Tyrese Maxey was cooking down the stretch for Philly.
17:18Maxey now. Neesmith picks him up. Jack Lockett in. Maxey dribbles. Pulls back. Sets. Fires. Three-pointer. Got him! Tyrese
17:25Maxey drills the three!
17:27Yeah, uh, JB in process, and, uh, Bron kind of got on me from me not being aggressive the first
17:32three quarters. And, uh, when JB checked back in the game in the fourth quarter, he said, you owe us.
17:36Take us home. So, I just gotta do what my best tell me to do.
17:39So, I'm a diehard Knicks fan, so I have to preface that, and you know that, by saying this. If
17:47I didn't hate the Sixers, I'd love the Sixers. And I'm on record saying that I respect Tyrese Maxey like
17:54no other.
17:55And even last year's Sixers despised the Sixers. Tyrese Maxey's one of my favorite players in sports. He's so smart.
18:02He's so tough. He's so aggressive, yet in control.
18:07He's a freight train, but he's always on track. And for a team that has all these MVPs and champions,
18:14when you look at LeBron and Jalen Brown, and it's incredible to watch, this is Tyrese Maxey's team.
18:20And you take a look at the fact that the Philadelphia 76ers were down big once again in a basketball
18:27game, and they claw all the way back once again to win.
18:32Just incredible. And get used to seeing Philadelphia at the top.
18:36And every single game matters. The balance that they have matters. The way that these guys play together, and it's
18:44just five games in, that matters. What Tyrese Maxey and the 76ers are doing, look, I think they're going to
18:52end up getting the one seed. And I'll say it once again. Tyrese Maxey and the Sixers, the biggest threat
18:58to the Knicks in terms of getting back in the Eastern Conference to the NBA Finals.
19:07It was hard. It was really hard.
19:12You know, I don't think Jeff wanted to leave here. You know, I thanked him for everything he's done here.
19:22And, you know, on and off the field. It's a really hard conversation for him.
19:28And I think it's also a great opportunity for him, too, as I told you.
19:33You know, to go someplace here and have an opportunity to compete now for the Super Bowl.
19:41So that is the Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzio explaining to the media in Nashville why today he traded
19:49the best player on the Tennessee Titans.
19:52And understand, and I watched his entire press conference, they were not shopping Jeffrey Simmons.
19:59The Chicago Bears made them an offer that Tennessee, one of the worst teams in the NFL, the most irrelevant
20:06team in the NFL, simply put, could not refuse.
20:10They gave the Tennessee Titans two first round picks.
20:15And I get it. Simmons, 30 year old, defensive tackle.
20:19Some people are going to say, well, you gave up too much.
20:22And for Tennessee, I understand because they're a terrible team, dreadful team, unwatchable team.
20:28They're not going anywhere kind of team.
20:31They have to make this deal.
20:33For Tennessee, I get it.
20:35For the Chicago Bears, this is unbelievable.
20:38This is a Super Bowl move.
20:41Jeffrey Simmons at worst for the last eight seasons has been a top two defensive tackle.
20:50And I say at worst, like we're talking about either defensive tackle number one or number two.
20:56This is his eighth season.
20:58That wasn't a random number.
20:59He is sensational.
21:01I vote him all the time, either first team or second team all pro.
21:06The guy is unbelievable.
21:08He led all defensive tackles with 11 sacks in 2025.
21:14And you look at what he's doing this year.
21:17He's unbelievable.
21:19There is a case to be made that when you look at his numbers this year, last year, he's the
21:26best defensive player in football.
21:28You would say if it was just last year, it's Myles Garrett.
21:30He's been hurt this year.
21:31Look at these numbers.
21:33Look at them.
21:34Yeah.
21:35Unbelievable.
21:36And what he's done this season.
21:39Nobody knows because no one cares about the Tennessee Titans.
21:42You can't block them.
21:43You can't stop them.
21:45He's on an irrelevant team.
21:46He could be the defensive player of the year if he would have stayed in Tennessee.
21:50You put him in Chicago.
21:54Wow.
21:55We talked yesterday on Shine Time about how the 49ers make a Super Bowl trade with the Forrest Buckner.
22:02Great.
22:02That was on the heels of Seattle, the defending champs, making a Super Bowl.
22:06We want to win another championship kind of move, getting Quentin Nelson.
22:10Great.
22:11This takes the cake.
22:12And I don't want to hear they gave up too much, right?
22:15They did not.
22:17This is a window of this year, next year, the year after.
22:21This is the perfect fit.
22:23A defense that can't be leaky.
22:24He's an unbelievable defensive tackle.
22:27Jeffrey Simmons makes everybody on the roster better.
22:30I'm already on record here on Shine Time saying the Bears, not the Vikings, will win the NFC North.
22:36And I ranked it, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Minnesota, in order right now before the trade with regards to who
22:47would win the NFC.
22:49Now we have to take the Bears seriously as a team that we will see in Los Angeles for the
22:57Super Bowl.
22:58When you have Caleb Williams, star at quarterback.
23:02You have Ben Johnson, star for your head coach.
23:05You have great weapons on offense.
23:07Receiver, tight end, running back.
23:09The one yeah but was defense.
23:12And you trade for arguably the best player in the NFL on defense this year.
23:18Superstar, immovable object.
23:21Incredible pass rusher.
23:23He bats down, passes, stops the run.
23:25He does everything and you get him in the center of Dennis Allen's defense.
23:30Championship caliber move.
23:32If you're a Bears fan, you're dancing in the street.
23:35Chicago historically loves rugged teams.
23:38Loves great defense.
23:40The city's gonna absolutely just fawn over Jeffrey Simmons.
23:44Get used to Jeffrey Simmons being a household name.
23:47He has been a stud his entire career.
23:50No one knows about it because it was languishing with the Tennessee Giants.
23:54What a trade.
23:55What an unbelievable day for the Chicago Bears.
23:58And by the way, we spent a lot of time yesterday talking about how the Vikings need to trade for
24:04Jonathan Taylor.
24:05We're seeing reaction right now in the NFC, right?
24:09Seattle, Quinton Nelson.
24:11The Forrest Buckner goes to San Francisco.
24:14Bears, they go all in for Jeffrey Simmons.
24:16Hey, Minnesota, you up?
24:19You need to go trade your first round pick for Jonathan Taylor.
24:23Big time matchup between the Ravens and the Bills this weekend in Buffalo.
24:27Will Lamar play?
24:28And will the Bills ultimately get rights?
24:31Here's Joe Brady.
24:33Questions get brought up on the defense, but like offense hasn't played well enough, right?
24:36It's no different.
24:39And there's a standard by how we have to play.
24:41And I think a reset is always good.
24:43And I know sometimes I think it was it was Chris or someone, you know, I'm sometimes I think you
24:48can get caught up in.
24:49It's not necessarily negative, but it's making sure that we're pushing ourselves to and to see things differently than, you
24:55know, how you might.
24:56For instance, you can say, hey, offense is first in the NFL in a certain thing.
25:00But does that mean we're good enough or are we just comparing ourselves to the other 32 teams?
25:03And so how do we look at it from a different way?
25:05That soundbite excites me because Joe Brady could easily talk about his defense, which has been deplorable.
25:13Instead, he seizes the moment with the anticipation that it's going to be Allen versus Jackson and you have to
25:21outscore the opposition in a game like this.
25:24It is quarterback versus quarterback, not just quarterback versus defense.
25:28He's challenging his offense for more.
25:31I mean, if you're a Bills fan, you love that.
25:35Lamar Jackson, we still don't know if he's going to play.
25:39There are signs that he actually will be out there.
25:43And that obviously is a positive.
25:45And he practiced fully on Wednesday.
25:47And I think we'll get more clarity on Friday.
25:51I'm going to need to hear that he's off the injury report.
25:54He's definitely playing because of the constant ambiguity and the history of Jackson not playing even when you think he's
26:01going to.
26:02So that to me is a pretty big deal.
26:05We just got to pay attention to be very sure here with Lamar.
26:08Either way, this is a game the Bills should win.
26:11This is a game that Josh Allen playing at home should be able and he's been the best player in
26:16the NFL best quarterback in the NFL this year.
26:19He should be able to absolutely destroy the Baltimore Ravens, especially in the second half.
26:24You realize Baltimore has the best point differential in the first half of the NFL.
26:29The worst in the second half doesn't even translate.
26:32This is a should win game for Buffalo.
26:35If we're talking about raising the bar in the Bills and finding ways where they can go out and win
26:40a championship.
26:40This is one of those just sexy, supreme, unbelievable quarterback showdowns.
26:47Please, sports gods, make sure Lamar is healthy.
26:50Jackson versus Allen.
26:522018 draft.
26:53MVPs.
26:54Lamar has two.
26:55Josh has one.
26:56This is what you'll live for.
26:58And it's also a game matchup wise.
27:00And Jackson, if he plays, he's going to become an off an injury.
27:03So maybe he's not 100%.
27:06Bam.
27:07Buffalo needs to strike, which is why.
27:09That sound bite.
27:10We could have picked any sound bite from Joe Brady at his press conference.
27:14It's obvious when you look at how bad the defense has been bottom of the barrel.
27:19They have to get better.
27:21Joe Brady wants more from his offense.
27:24He knows what he's doing.
27:26To the Meadowlands.
27:27Will this be Kirk Cousins' last game starting at quarterback for the Raiders?
27:31Or is Aaron Glenn potentially coaching his last game for the Jets?
27:36Yeah, I think we can definitely get the run game going.
27:41You know, get back on track.
27:43And, you know, just really get after these guys.
27:47A couple guys out there that don't really want to tackle, but I'm not going to say names.
27:52Yeah, I want to be here, man.
27:54I want to win games.
27:55You know, and that's the one thing we've been missing on here.
27:58I love it here.
28:02Do I love it more than I love winning?
28:05You know, nah, to be completely honest.
28:08But I'm hopeful.
28:10You know, I've never been the best, like, optimistic guy.
28:12But I done found a way.
28:13I done dug deep.
28:14And I've been optimistic for three, four, five years now.
28:17And, you know, that's why these ones each weekend hurt a little more.
28:22I love that we juxtaposed those two sound bites together.
28:29Ashton Gentry basically said the Jets have no interest in playing defense.
28:35They don't tackle.
28:36And I know Jets players, Jets coaches talked about, yeah, we've talked about that.
28:41It doesn't matter.
28:42Your team is tissue paper soft.
28:44You lost at home to the Miami Dolphins.
28:45There's nothing that you can say that will eradicate the gross, atrocious, pathetic film and the feel from last week.
28:55As bad as it gets.
28:57And then we have Garrett Wilson who told the press he's not getting traded.
29:01And here's the deal with Garrett Wilson.
29:03If I'm Garrett Wilson, I'd be as frustrated as hell.
29:06Wide open constantly.
29:08Got three targets and a loss to the winless Miami Dolphins.
29:12Garrett Wilson should be a top ten wide receiver in the NFL.
29:16And Garrett Wilson, epitome of class.
29:19Great guy.
29:20Wants to be a Jet.
29:21Wants to win.
29:22Look, he signed the contract to stay.
29:25So did Sauce Gardner.
29:27If I'm, as a quick example, the San Francisco 49ers, I would try and call the Jets and make them
29:34an offer they can't refuse.
29:35Right?
29:36Jeffrey Simmons was not available.
29:38Bears able to get it done.
29:40If I'm the Chiefs, I'd do the same.
29:42But here's the deal, and I think it's important to stress this.
29:46The Jets don't need draft picks.
29:49Think about it.
29:50They have three.
29:50They have the Colts pick.
29:52They're going to end up having three incredible draft picks.
29:55At least two in the top ten.
29:57And then we'll see what happens with the Dallas Cowboys.
29:59They're going to have their pick, the Colts pick, and Dallas' pick in the first round.
30:03So if the Niners called and said, we'll give you our first round pick for Garrett Wilson, that's not even
30:08close.
30:08There's no compensation.
30:10You should be trying to win a Super Bowl with Garrett Wilson.
30:13But, you know, be nice if we start winning games or making the playoffs and ending the crazy, incredible drought
30:19that has Jets fans saying, same old Jets is a real thing.
30:22I honestly, at the end of the day, feel disgusted and sick for the long-suffering Jets fans.
30:30The fact that they have to look at Aaron Glenn's face.
30:33The fact that he's still going to be roaming the sideline.
30:36He has no feel, no clue.
30:39And here's the deal.
30:40The Raiders are wounded, right?
30:42They were 3-0.
30:43Now they're 3-4.
30:44I firmly believe they should have started Fernando Mendoza this week.
30:49This is a game where you try to pick a winner and, you know, it might seem to be nearly
30:55impossible.
30:56I don't even hesitate.
30:58This is a prime example.
31:01Clint Kubiak knows what he's doing.
31:04Aaron Glenn has no idea.
31:07The Raiders on so many levels, defense, cousins, they're a mess right now.
31:13They're in a four-game losing streak.
31:15And I love them against the Jets.
31:18Because last week, I looked like a horse's ass.
31:22Because I believed in the Jets.
31:24And I thought the Jets would beat Green Bay when they outgamed them by 200 yards.
31:28And they had a real shout-out.
31:30They had a real head coach to beat the New England Patriots.
31:33This is why you have to ask Garrett Wilson if he wants to be traded.
31:36Because I know fans might want a higher draft pick.
31:40But in the NFL, teams don't tank because there's a culture of losing.
31:45And it permeates.
31:47And it takes guys who are great players and wasted talents like a Garrett Wilson.
31:52And it just puts them in the dumps.
31:55And that's not what you want.
31:56Three targets for Garrett Wilson and a loss to the Miami Dolphins?
32:00Really?
32:01What the hell are we doing?
32:03That's an embarrassment.
32:05At this stage, I'd be disappointed in the Raiders if they lost against Aaron Glenn.
32:11Continuing the theme of futile football.
32:14Mike McDaniel hasn't gotten the job done as the OC for the Chargers.
32:17But his quarterback isn't blaming him.
32:21It's not his fault.
32:22It's our fault as an offense.
32:23We have to do our job.
32:24And it's not Mike's fault.
32:26The guys are open.
32:28Plays are being made.
32:28And it's on us to run, to block, to catch, to throw.
32:32So it's on us as an offense.
32:35We've got the battle of L.A. this week.
32:37The Chargers.
32:38The Rams.
32:39I can't wait for it.
32:42How is Mike McDaniel still here?
32:44Justin Herbert says it's not his fault.
32:46And sure, he can blame himself.
32:48Herbert's been terrible.
32:49He can blame his offensive line.
32:52It's like R.E.M.'s playing in the background.
32:54Everybody hurts.
32:55He can blame the injuries and guys dropping passes at wide receiver.
32:59This team with the Chargers, and I know they're coming off a bye,
33:03they're a disaster.
33:04A complete and utter disaster.
33:06Look at this graphic.
33:08Look at this board.
33:10This is a disgrace.
33:13They might be able to become a historic team on Sunday.
33:16First team in NFL history to start 0-7 after an 11-plus win season.
33:22So maybe, congrats?
33:25But look at the numbers and look at the rankings.
33:28Worst since.
33:30Yeah, this is a disgrace.
33:32Honestly, if the Rams don't look great in the process, they'll have to check themselves.
33:38By the way, I have full confidence in the Rams.
33:41They are going to absolutely destroy the Chargers.
33:46Rams, I think, were able to have that get right game.
33:50I was really impressed with what the Rams were able to do against the Raiders.
33:54I think Stafford's going to torch these guys.
33:57I think the defense is going to be incredible.
33:59I think Puka Nakua is going to absolutely dominate.
34:01I can't wait to see the Rams prove to Justin Herbert that it is Mike McDaniel's fault.
34:08I still can't believe that Mike McDaniel is employed.
34:12But wait, there's more.
34:32I mean, Pat Murphy's a beaut, right?
34:34Jake Bowers gives him the game ball, final out of the World Series.
34:39And he says, yeah, when you're on that horseshit Yankees team, just remember.
34:43How team oriented we were as opposed to individuals with the Yankees because Jake Bowers will get paid.
34:49And remember, he had a cup of coffee with the Yankees.
34:51He's been everywhere.
34:52You know, and I, as a Yankee fan, I'm not mad, right?
34:56I mean, you know, not that Brian Cashman would ever do something intelligent like, you know,
35:00bringing winning ball players who take pitches and work counts and come through the clutch.
35:05The Yankees are, yeah, a horseshit team.
35:08I mean, he's 100% right.
35:10And they got a bunch of individuals.
35:11And Jorge Posada's not welcome.
35:13So everyone's throwing shade.
35:15I mean, here it is.
35:17Pat Murphy wins the championship.
35:18And Pat Murphy, by the way, grew up in Syracuse, New York, where he was a Yankee fan.
35:23So he's following it.
35:24He's a baseball lifer.
35:25And he knows the Yankees are a disaster right now.
35:28So I'm not mad at Pat Murphy.
35:30I agree with Pat Murphy.
35:32And I love the Yankees.
35:34To broadcasting.
35:35One of the best broadcasters of our generation is stepping away from one of the best sports shows
35:39of our generation.
35:41You know, I've been hosting this show inside the NBA for a long time.
35:45This is my 37th year, and I've long described it as a get to job.
35:50Still amazed that I get to do this for a living.
35:54As the years have gone by, I turned 70 this past summer.
35:58Folks have asked me.
35:59So how long you gonna keep on doing inside?
36:02And the short answer is, this will be my last season.
36:05It's totally my decision.
36:08It's just time.
36:10Man, I've seen that video.
36:12Feels like 15 times.
36:15Ernie Johnson announcing that he's gonna retire from inside the NBA after this year.
36:20I get the chills every time.
36:22Ernie Johnson is the best.
36:24He is a phenomenal host.
36:26He's the epitome of class.
36:28He is everything rights with our industry.
36:31And it's a sad day because when you think of the great wraparound studio shows, we're talking
36:39about pregame and a postgame show, a halftime show.
36:42The single greatest show of that genre, without question, is inside the NBA.
36:49They have had the secret sauce of entertainment, fun, likability, opinions.
36:56They are just the best.
36:58Charles Barkley is the greatest analyst in the history of sports television.
37:02Kenny Smith, fantastic.
37:03Shaq is Shaq.
37:05And Ernie Johnson as the host, as the glue, keeps it all together.
37:11Listen, Ernie Johnson has had an unbelievable run.
37:14He is someone that I have idolized and looked up to for a very long time.
37:19The epitome of class and respect.
37:22And he gets it more than anyone else.
37:25And he also has to know what to hold him, what to fold him.
37:28Let these guys go and reign him in.
37:31No ego when it comes to Ernie.
37:33The epitome of everything you want in that kind of host chair.
37:38Bravo, Ernie Johnson.
37:39We were always watching Inside the NBA anyway.
37:42I talked to Charles Barkley last week on my SiriusXM radio show.
37:45He said, listen, this is it for Ernie.
37:48This will be it for me.
37:49He doesn't want to work with another host.
37:51And I absolutely get it.
37:54Ernie Johnson is Inside the NBA.
37:56Inside the NBA is the greatest pre-game show, post-game show in the history of sports broadcasting.
38:03What a run.
38:04What a show.
38:05What a life.
38:06My guy, Ernie Johnson.
38:08That's a show.
38:09If you miss any portion of the show, just do what I do and re-watch the show over and
38:12over and over again.
