00:00You may not have grown under my heart, but in it.
00:03It doesn't matter how they come into your life.
00:05The moment they put that child in your arms,
00:06whether you've just birthed it or whether they've just arrived from Korea,
00:11they're yours.
00:12And that love, that unconditional love, just sweeps over everything.
00:17Maddox was the last child I saw, and he was asleep.
00:22And they put him in my arms and he stayed asleep.
00:25And then he opened his eyes and he smiled.
00:27And I cried and felt like this kid is okay being in my arms and he accepts me.
00:33When we adopted our daughter, our beloved daughter,
00:36who thrills me and rocks my world.
00:38And, you know, you have one kid and then you think,
00:40oh my gosh, I'll never love another kid.
00:42And then the second one comes and you can't believe that you love him.
00:45And then the third one fell out of the sky.
00:54I started my foundation Raising Malawi,
00:57and the more information I got about the children
01:00and the number of orphans that were there,
01:01the more it seemed quite obvious that, you know,
01:06if you want to go to Africa and adopt a child, I might as well go to Malawi.
01:16I've always wanted to adopt and decided, you know, to pursue adoption on my own.
01:21And the process for Eloise took about a year and a half.
01:25I'm your mother, so whatever you are, however you are,
01:29the ups, the downs, the journey of it, none of that matters to me.
01:34It's just, I'm your mother and I'm here for you always.
01:39And that, to me, is the true sense of being a mother.
01:43That unconditional love that just exists.
