00:05Hey guys, Ariana Davis, senior features writer at Refinery29 here, and we're at
00:09the premiere of Focus Features' new film Tully, which premieres in theaters
00:13everywhere on May 4th. The movie stars Charlize Theron, but I'm here with a very
00:17special guest of my own for this mother Focus movie, my own mom, Maribel Davis,
00:21better known as mom to me. I brought her tonight.
00:24I love it! This is the kind of thing I live for.
00:27Oh, that's so sweet! I brought my mom, too!
00:30What has been the best advice your mom ever gave you?
00:33My mom?
00:33Oh my gosh, my mom is like a fountain of good advice.
00:36Honestly, everything she says to me is amazing. She's the best mom in the world.
00:41She would just smile and say, uh, you'll figure it out.
00:44Do you ever look at yourself and think, I think I'm kind of becoming like my mother?
00:47Well, I haven't figured any of it out.
00:49So what are you most excited about tonight?
00:52Being here with you.
00:53Aww, that's so sweet.
00:54Tell me why you wanted to sign on for the role of Telly.
00:57You can always tell when someone's telling a real story versus, you know, the regurgitated
01:02myth story of motherhood, and it felt immediately like I was seeing behind the curtain of something
01:06that I would one day be a part of.
01:08So we want to know what's the best piece of advice your mom has ever given you?
01:12Oh my gosh, I think patience. She's like, you know what? Tomorrow's gonna be a new day,
01:16and it's not the end of the world. And it's really good to hear that when you're in the middle
01:21of it. Alright guys, so that's it. My mom's first ever red carpet. How do you feel, mom?
01:25Great. It was a lot of fun.
01:26We just interviewed Charlize. She was fantastic. So thanks guys for joining us, and you can
01:30catch Telly in theaters on May 4th. Bye!
