00:00Hey guys, it's me Anne, and this is Beauty With Me.
00:02I tried seven days of makeup trends earlier this year,
00:05and after reading all of your beautiful comments,
00:08I thought it would be a great idea to try a similar challenge,
00:11but using only $25 worth of drugstore makeup.
00:15I hopped over to the store, did a little bit of online shopping,
00:19and came up with a bunch of different makeup products.
00:22It comes out to $24.63, just under $25.
00:28Not gonna lie, it doesn't look like much.
00:30Drugstore makeup can get a little bit pricey.
00:32I had to really keep it minimal.
00:34Hopefully, this whole challenge will show you
00:36that drugstore makeup can be really glam and very versatile.
00:39I think we're gonna come up with some pretty cool looks this week.
00:43So, follow along.
00:45So for day one of this challenge,
00:47I decided to ease into it with a monochromatic pink look that matches my hair.
00:52I started off with my base,
00:53and applied the Wet n Wild concealer all over my face,
00:57under my eyes, around my nose, and blended that out.
00:59I skipped foundation this entire week,
01:01A, to keep my costs down,
01:03but also because I do often use concealer as foundation.
01:06Then I followed up with some of the e.l.f. HD Powder
01:08all over my face to set my makeup,
01:10and then applied some blush, bronzer, and highlighter from the Rimmel Palette.
01:16Then I followed up with some eyeshadow primer
01:19before adding a touch of the e.l.f. Powder on my eyelids,
01:23so that the blush that I'm gonna use as my eyeshadow would apply more evenly.
01:27I didn't have a separate pink eyeshadow in my drugstore arsenal,
01:32so I used the blush from the Rimmel Palette,
01:34dusted that all over my lid,
01:35and then put a little bit of the bronzer shade in my crease as a transition shadow.
01:41Then to finish off the eyes,
01:43I curled my eyelashes and applied a couple layers of the Wet n Wild mascara,
01:48and added a bit of the pink blush on my lash line
01:51for a little bit of extra definition.
01:53And then to finish off the look,
01:54I used a little bit of the e.l.f. lipstick,
01:56which at first was a little bit difficult to work with straight out of the bullet,
02:00so I used it on my finger,
02:01warmed it up on my fingers,
02:03and tapped it into my lips as a stain.
02:09I really like this look.
02:10I think that when I typically do monochromatic pink looks,
02:13I like to use eyeshadows that are a little bit punchier,
02:16but I think for a day-to-day look, it was really pretty.
02:18I think it really complemented my hair.
02:20It was a really great daytime look.
02:22For the second day of the challenge,
02:24I kept things simple with just some very glowy skin and a punchy red lip.
02:28For the whole week, I used the same base,
02:29but this time I used a little bit of the highlighter on my eyes
02:32just to give my lids a little bit of iridescent,
02:34a little bit of bronzer in my crease,
02:36a bit of mascara.
02:39Then I finished off with a swipe of the Wet n' Wild red lipstick,
02:42which is beautiful and really pigmented,
02:44felt really nice.
02:49The look itself is a little bit more on the natural side,
02:52but having that punchy red lip makes it a little bit more bold.
02:55For day three, I decided to go with a little bit of a bronze,
03:00smokey eye look using some of the shadows from my Wet n' Wild palette.
03:04I went in with the ELF eyeshadow primer all over my lid
03:07and a little bit on my lower lash line
03:08before going with a generous helping of the bronze eyeshadow.
03:12For a little bit of extra definition,
03:14I dusted a little bit of the deeper, kind of greenish shadow in the palette
03:18on my upper and lower lash lines using a more dense pencil brush.
03:22Followed up with a little bit of mascara,
03:24a touch more bronzer, and finally a layer of lipstick.
03:31This was a fun look.
03:33I don't typically wear smokey eyes, but I liked it.
03:36It was a good daytime appropriate one.
03:38Definitely didn't veer too far into the smokey territory,
03:41so I think that if you want a daytime appropriate smokey eye
03:43that you can deepen up for nighttime, this was definitely it.
03:46Day four focuses on a very soft ombre lip.
03:50I did a nice crisp cat eye using the Black Radiance liquid liner
03:54before moving on to the main event, which was the ombre lips.
03:58So I decided to do the red lipstick on the outer perimeter of my lips
04:03and then the pink lipstick in the center,
04:05kind of diffusing it out to make it look like it all blended together.
04:13I do think that this look would have been a little bit more long wearing
04:16if I had to use liquid lipsticks rather than these satin finish lipsticks that I had
04:21just because as I wore the lipsticks,
04:23I did find that the color started to melt together
04:25and ended up just kind of looking like a mixture of red and pink.
04:29You know, it didn't look bad,
04:30but it did lose its ombre quality throughout the day.
04:33Day five was probably my favorite look,
04:35a graphic wing that I created using the Wet n Wild palette.
04:39But I wanted to get more pigment out of this deeper kind of teal shade,
04:43so I decided to mix it with some water to create a paste-like consistency.
04:47I used an angled brush to take that, apply it to my lid,
04:51winging it out slightly,
04:52and then bringing it into my crease before filling it in.
04:55This was actually a lot easier than it looks
04:59because it's really only one shade
05:01and the most important part is making sure your lines are really crisp.
05:04Then I followed up with some mascara,
05:06some of the pink lipstick,
05:08and that was it.
05:15I got the most compliments on this look out of all of the looks this week
05:19just because I think it's so fun and different,
05:22it's very crisp,
05:23and honestly I was surprised that I was able to get that much pigment
05:28and maneuverability out of a drugstore eyeshadow that was like $3.
05:33So day six was kind of a version of day one,
05:38but I decided to swap out the lipstick and do a little bit of red instead.
05:42This is actually inspired by, well loosely inspired by,
05:47a look that Lily Collins wore to the Golden Globes.
05:49So I started off with the same base as usual,
05:52then I wet my eyeshadow brush and applied the same Rimmel blush as my eyeshadow.
05:57I applied a little bit of the Black Radiant eyeliner,
06:00curled my eyelashes,
06:01slapped on some mascara,
06:03and put on my red lipstick.
06:09I love this look.
06:10I wear pink eyeshadow and red lipstick a lot.
06:13Again, I would have liked it if the blush was a touch more pigmented,
06:16but I do really like this color.
06:19All in all, I think the look came out really well.
06:21The seventh and final day of my seven days of drugstore makeup challenge
06:25really only required one hero product.
06:29So this look is all about the eyes,
06:31inspired in part by dotted liner and by a floating crease,
06:36which is essentially a more modern fresh take on a traditional 60s cut crease.
06:40A makeup artist on Instagram, her name is Anna Karen Helborg.
06:43She does a dotted liner look really similar to this one.
06:46So what I did was I took the eyeliner and used a different brush.
06:51I used my BH Cosmetics number 10 eyeliner brush,
06:54dipped into the product,
06:55and created little dots along the crease of my eye.
07:00Not gonna lie, I struggled with this one.
07:03I do this look a lot,
07:04but I actually have an eyeliner that has an applicator with a rounded edge,
07:08so it makes it super easy to make circular dots.
07:12Doing this with a brush was a little bit more challenging,
07:14but after a few tries, I definitely got it to work.
07:16After dotting the liner on my crease on both eyes,
07:19followed up with some mascara and some lipstick as per usual,
07:22and it went on my way.
07:29I absolutely love this look.
07:30I think this look and the graphic wing were definitely my favorites.
07:33I love experimenting with makeup in that way,
07:36and honestly, they don't really require that much product,
07:39and if you have the patience to pull it off,
07:42you can do it.
07:43Hi guys!
07:44So it has been seven days since I have been using only this makeup.
07:50Although I liked a lot of the products,
07:51it was so limiting not being able to like reach for the glitter in my drawer,
07:57or reach for a different color eyeliner.
07:59It did really challenge me to do different things with this makeup,
08:03and I was actually really surprised by how nice the looks came out,
08:07if I do say so myself.
08:09So I think the first like hero product here was definitely the concealer.
08:13This Wet n Wild Concealer Corrector is so good.
08:17It is so beautiful.
08:19It doesn't have the best shade range, which isn't great,
08:22but if you do have a shade in this lineup,
08:25I would definitely try checking it out.
08:28And I just used this all over my face the entire week,
08:31and I really enjoyed it.
08:33I also really loved the Rimmel Contour Blush and Highlight.
08:37The blush is beautiful.
08:38The contour is not too warm.
08:39It's not too cool.
08:40You can contour and bronze with it.
08:41The one pitfall I will say with this is the highlighter is very sheer,
08:46but overall it was lovely.
08:47Pretty on the eyes too.
08:48Eyeshadow palette was really lovely too.
08:50The things that didn't really work,
08:52I will say that the Wet n Wild Mega Length Waterproof Mascara,
08:56if you want something very natural, go for it.
08:59But for me, I need something with more volume.
09:02This lipstick though, I think that I didn't choose the right color.
09:05This is the ELF lipstick in Classy.
09:09It was too like frosty pale pink.
09:11In my opinion, didn't look amazing on me,
09:14but I was able to make it work.
09:15It did kind of accentuate dryness on my lips,
09:17but I will say that if you tap it on with a finger,
09:19it worked a lot better.
09:21The powder, I use the ELF under eye setting powder
09:24as my all over face powder,
09:26and I think that it has a beautiful brightening smoothing effect,
09:29but it doesn't control oil as much as I would have wanted it to.
09:32So if you have slightly drier skin,
09:35but you just want to set your under eye area,
09:36you want to set a little bit of your face,
09:37I think you'll probably like this.
09:39Last but not least of the things that I want to mention today,
09:41the Black Radiance Liquid Liner is really lovely.
09:44I'm not a huge fan of the brush.
09:46I find it a little bit too flexible.
09:47I like to apply it with my own brush.
09:49It's a little bit easier to work with.
09:50BH Cosmetics, it's the number 10 eyeliner brush.
09:53The actual pigment of this eyeliner though is beautiful.
09:55It's really easy to work with.
09:56It lasts a long time.
09:57So that is it.
09:58I hope that this showed you that you can spend $25
10:02and get all of this makeup,
10:04and you can do a lot of different looks if you're creative with it.
10:07So I hope that you guys enjoyed it,
10:09and I will catch you guys next week.
10:11Bye!
