00:02Today we're talking about dupes, and I love a good dupe.
00:07When I was in high school and I had no money, I used to scour the internet looking for dupes.
00:11Now that I'm in the industry doing beauties of every single day, I still revel in the
00:16discovery of finding a good one.
00:18So you know that I love to compare high-end makeup to drugstore makeup.
00:22So I thought, why not put the creme de la creme of lipstick to the test?
00:28And that is Tom Ford.
00:31I love Tom Ford lipsticks, I have a couple in my collection, but I know that the lipsticks
00:35are not the most affordable option.
00:38The normal size of the lipstick, I have one right here, retails for $54, which is very
00:43steep, but they are so beautiful and the formula is to die for.
00:48Today we will be duping two of my favorite Tom Ford lipsticks, the first of which is Bruised
00:55Plum.
00:55It is a beautiful plummy aubergine color.
01:00Next one is Dominic.
01:02It is a matte finish, beautiful deep red lipstick.
01:06I never put them on from how they're supposed to be used, because right here it has a little
01:10like TF embossed in the front.
01:12I don't want to like make it go away, so I always put it on from the back to keep
01:16it
01:17looking good.
01:18First things first, Dominic.
01:20This is the matte formula of the Tom Ford lipstick, which to me is more of a velvety finish.
01:25It's not like super powdery matte.
01:27It's such a beautiful deep red, and it feels so comfortable.
01:30I'm going to swatch Dominic on the top of my wrist right here.
01:37I'm going to swatch all the dupes right below.
01:39So first up is the most expensive dupe, but it is significantly cheaper.
01:45It is MAC, retails for $16.
01:48This is Russian red, a classic, classic matte MAC shade.
01:53Very, very close.
01:55I will say that the MAC is just a hair matter than the Tom Ford lipstick, but in terms of
02:05tone, they're like nearly identical.
02:08The MAC in coloring, although like looking at them like right side by side, they look
02:13so similar.
02:14The Russian red is just a little bit rustier.
02:18So next up we have this lipstick from Maybelline.
02:21It is the Color Sensational lipstick in Red Revival.
02:24Retails for $7.50.
02:26It is a beautiful red shade.
02:29I'll show you here.
02:32It does have a similar like deep red tone to it.
02:35Honestly, looking at all three, they look so similar to me.
02:38It has this lovely kind of balmy texture, which the other two do have as well, but because
02:46it's more of a cream finish, it feels even more comfortable.
02:48But because it does have a shinier finish, it does slip around a little bit more on the
02:53lip, so I actually would, if you were going to wear this lipstick, I would layer a little
02:57bit of lip liner underneath so that it doesn't feather.
03:01So the next dupe that I have for the Tom Ford lipstick in Dominic is actually a lip liner.
03:07It's from ColourPop.
03:08ColourPop makes some of my favorite lip liners.
03:11This one is the Bossy Lip Liner, and I just said the Maybelline lipstick would benefit
03:16from a lip liner underneath, and you can just use this one because it retails for $5.
03:21I'm a big fan of ColourPop lip products in general.
03:24I love their lip pencils.
03:26They are super matte.
03:27They keep my lipstick on a lot longer.
03:29If you don't want to use a lip pencil, though, they have a regular lipstick in the same shade,
03:34Bossy, so you can get them as well.
03:38So those are the three true dupes that I found, but I have one more, kind of an honorable mention.
03:44This is the Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick.
03:49It is in the shade Control, and they are absolutely lovely matte lipsticks.
03:56They come in this twist-up crayon package, and they even have a little sharpener at the
04:01end that you can use to sharpen the actual bullet of the lipstick if you want it to be
04:05even more precise.
04:07As you can see, it is not an exact match for Dominic, but it is in the same kind of
04:14deep
04:14red tone.
04:15This one has a little bit more brown in it, in my opinion.
04:17It is very matte, and what I like about these lipsticks in particular is the tip of it is
04:23very small, so you can get around your lip, you can get your lip line.
04:26You don't really have to use lip liner if you don't want to.
04:29Here are all the dupes lined up, $16, $28, $5, and $7.50.

04:36So moving right along, this is Tom Ford Bruce Plum.
04:40This is the full size, $54 buckaroos.
04:43It's just a very nice, in my opinion, really great kind of aubergine berry glip color that's
04:50great for this time of year.
04:52It was harder to color match this one because the tones in this lipstick are actually kind
04:56of unique, so I'm going to show you what we found, and I think we did a pretty good job.
05:03First up, we have this Wet n Wild lipstick.
05:06This is the Megalass lipstick line.
05:08This is the shade Cherry Bomb.
05:10These fellas retail for $2.50 each, and these are kind of, in my opinion, mainstays of the
05:15drugstore.
05:15They're really great.
05:16They're so cheap.
05:17They come in a lot of beautiful colors, red, nude, brown, this beautiful berry.
05:22So the Bruce Plum is more of a creamy finish.
05:25You can see the shine on my lips right now.
05:28This one is much more matte.
05:29And it's also, although it is definitely in the same color family in a very close match,
05:33it's not the exact same color match.
05:36I'm telling you, it was hard, guys!
05:41Next up, I have this lipstick from NYX.
05:44It's the Butter lipstick in the shade Licorice.
05:47And I think this lipstick is actually the closest match in terms of formula and the way it feels.
05:54So they both have a kind of shinier finish.
05:57The Tom Ford lipstick is just a little bit more lustrous, but the Butter lipstick still
06:00has that kind of sandy shine to it.
06:03Because they're a little bit shinier, if you want a very crisp lip line, I would line prior
06:09to application.
06:11That's just, like, my personal preference.
06:12The color match, again, is a little bit pinker on the Tom Ford side, but not, in my opinion,
06:17not so different after all.
06:24So the last dupe that I have here is from ELF, one of my favorite affordable brands.
06:30Cruelty Free.
06:31They make really great stuff.
06:32This is the shade Bordeaux Beauty.
06:34It's the moisturizing lipstick from ELF.
06:36It retails for three bucks.
06:38Super cheap.
06:38So this one, as you can see from how many times I had to apply it, the first layer that
06:44you put on your lips is going to be a little bit more sheer, but you can really build it
06:48up, as you can see on my hand right now, to make it look a lot more like the Tom
06:53Ford lipstick.
06:53And it does have the same pinkiness that Bruise Plum has.
06:57It's very comfortable.
06:58It has a nice sheen to it.
07:00And the ELF lipsticks, these particular ones, the bottom, you can get more product.
07:08See?
07:09You, like, take it out, and there's a little cap full of extra lip product.
07:15It is such a good idea.
07:21Here are all the lipstick dupes for Tom Ford Bruise Plum.
07:24I think that in terms of color, the ELF lipstick is the closest in terms of having that pinky,
07:31berry tone.
07:32In terms of the finish, I think the Butter lipsticks from NYX are the closest, and then
07:36the Wet n' Wild, if you want that kind of same tone but you want it to be matte, I
07:40would
07:41highly recommend those two.
07:42Alright, so there you have it.
07:43Dupes for two of my favorite lipsticks that just so happen to be pretty pricey.
07:48One Tom Ford lipstick is really expensive, let alone buying multiple shades of one.
07:53So, I hope that these kind of give you cheaper options if you want to get a similar look.
