00:01I'm scared. Okay, okay. She's rogue!
00:05I'm like actually terrified.
00:08Hey guys, I'm Ian. And I'm Lucy.
00:10And today we're going to be showing you three easy DIYs to organize your makeup.
00:15Makeup is one area of my life where I'm really lacking.
00:18And working at a place like Refinery29, we're always getting free makeup.
00:22So my makeup bag is ridiculously disgusting. Me too.
00:25So there's a lot of stuff splayed out before us.
00:28So can you explain what everything's going to be used for?
00:30DIY number one, jar brush holders.
00:34DIY number two, cardboard drawer organizers.
00:38And the third one is this travel friendly pouch.
00:41So let's get started with DIY number one.
00:44If you have an old handle, you can do this DIY. It's so easy.
00:48Possibilities are endless.
00:49If you use it to the bottom, you're like, what do I do with it?
00:51You can reuse it by sticking it in the freezer, letting it chill for a couple hours,
00:55take it out, crack it with a butter knife, pour the wax out,
01:00and it's basically your own little vessel.
01:02You can put whatever you want in it.
01:03The only issue with using these candle holders as is,
01:06is that when you put the brush in it, it kind of just tips over to the side.
01:10The solution to fix this is to use these vase fillers
01:13that Mian so graciously brought from home and fill them up.
01:17And then it also looks pretty.
01:18Look how pretty they are. They look like little rock candy.
01:20Wow. Are these edible?
01:22No, Lucy, I'm not edible.
01:23Are you sure?
01:25Don't eat these at home.
01:27Test!
01:29Test number two.
01:31Ooh, pretty!
01:33If you want, you can go a step further and organize them by brush.
01:38So now that we have our face container all done,
01:41we should go ahead and do the rest of the candle holders.
01:43Alright, let's do it.
01:51There you have it.
01:52Six DIY makeup organizers for eyes, face, and lips.
01:56I love yours so much, particularly your regal one.
01:59She's queen.
02:00We're such good partners.
02:02We make a really good team.
02:03Now these may look like any old cardboard boxes,
02:06but with a little creativity and hot glue,
02:09we can turn them into drawer organizers.
02:12You say cardboard box, I say drawer organizer.
02:16You know, any cardboard boxes lying around your house.
02:18Shoe boxes, old present boxes.
02:21We have these boxes here.
02:24Now depending on how large your drawer is,
02:26you can use various sizes of boxes.
02:29But essentially what you're doing is creating a little,
02:32well, puzzle piece situation with your boxes.
02:35And they're gonna be different little sections for each of your makeup.
02:39Genius.
02:39This one could not be easier.
02:41Literally glue them together in any way you like.
02:45I would say that a good thing to do before you get into this
02:48is actually measure the width of your drawer.
02:50Just, you wanna make sure A, these will actually fit height-wise,
02:53but also wideness-wise.
02:56Not everyone's drawer has that much depth.
02:58Test it before you glue it.
03:00This will be my junk drawer.
03:02You gotta have a junk box.
03:03Alright, mine looks pretty good.
03:06So obviously, if you want, you can decorate them for the purposes of this video.
03:11We're gonna leave them be because you can use them as is.
03:13And now it's time to fill them with our makeup products.
03:22Then you stick it in a drawer and you're done.
03:24Alright!
03:24Third DIY and final tier is this travel-friendly makeup pouch.
03:30What's so great about them is if you're traveling, you can just take your makeup out,
03:34and TSA's not gonna stop you because they can see exactly what's in your makeup bag.
03:39This is another way to organize eyes, lips, and face in three separate spots.
03:44We're gonna get this all, new wear that I learned today,
03:48to puncture three holes in our pouches.
03:52Okay.
03:53I personally would do one at a time just because it's pretty thick.
03:58I'm gonna go the route of going all three at once because I wanna make sure they're in the exact
04:02same spot.
04:03Here it goes.
04:05This looks really dangerous.
04:09It was easy!
04:10Woohoo!
04:11I have one, my three holes done for this.
04:14I'm gonna use it as a guide to do the rest of them.
04:17I'm really excited for this.
04:18I'm gonna carry this every single day to work, to the dentist, to the bathroom.
04:26You could leave it like this.
04:27It actually gives you a lot more flexibility.
04:29You should add three.
04:30My little book of makeup is complete.
04:34Are you serious?
04:35Oh my gosh.
04:36I'm still on binder clip number two.
04:38You can obviously label it and put any other embellishments on as you want,
04:42but I think I'm gonna leave mine as is.
04:44I kinda like it simple.
04:45What do you think?
04:46I'm leaving it.
04:47I don't wanna go crazy with the embellishments.
04:49I wanna be able to see all the makeup inside, and I want it to be all neat and organized.
04:53And there you have it.
04:55Three very easy and affordable ways to organize all of your loose makeup.
04:59Well, I don't know about you, but I am really impressed with the work we did today.
05:02I am too, and I'm so honored that you shared these tips with me.
05:05Well, thank you so much, and thank you guys for watching.
05:08See you later.
05:08Bye!
05:09Bye!
05:09Bye!
