00:00But let's get to Packers-Panthers first on Thursday Night Football.
00:04We're also going to get to the trade deadline, which is coming up pretty soon here.
00:09I think it kind of takes us by surprise sometimes.
00:12Exactly.
00:12We had some active moves, so we'll get to that when David Bloom comes on.
00:16But, John, this Packers-Panthers game, we've talked about the Panthers.
00:20We've talked about the Packers.
00:21I think I've got to say this right now because I was very low on the Packers.
00:27I think I was wrong about the Packers.
00:29I think they're actually pretty good.
00:31Pretty good?
00:32Yeah, I didn't think they were going to be good at all.
00:34I thought it was going to be a disaster.
00:36And this Packers team has now rattled off a lot of wins in a row.
00:40They actually lost a turnover battle to the Panthers.
00:44But Green Bay is now 5-3.
00:46Carolina is 3-4.
00:48Obviously, Green Bay lost to Detroit last week.
00:50That snapped their win streak last week.
00:54But now Carolina has lost two straight.
00:56Just what are your thoughts, John, on this Packers team now?
01:00They're 5-3.
01:01They're on, what, a four-game winning streak, something like that, going into that last week's game.
01:06But now they're back at 5-3.
01:08They're going to be in the mix for this NFC North.
01:10Obviously, you know your Bears are back at it with Caleb Williams.
01:13So this division is going to be unforgiving.
01:15But the Packers get the win on Thursday night.
01:18What are your thoughts?
01:20Packer wins are versus the Jets, the Bucs without Baker Mayfield, the Bears without Caleb Williams, the hapless Cowboys, and
01:28the Panthers who, you know, if I walk away saying this.
01:33If you are the Green Bay Packers and you can't run the ball against the Carolina Panthers, you have a
01:39massive problem.
01:41Every team has ran the ball against the Carolina Panthers at a clip that is pretty embarrassing for an NFL
01:48football team.
01:49And yet the Packers still couldn't generate any run game against the Carolina Panthers.
01:55So I would say it's good to see them getting healthy.
01:58It was – I would say it was good to see Josh Jacobs out there until he, you know, does
02:04the I'm in Police Cups celebration after getting a domestic violence issue.
02:07So he's clearly smart.
02:09I just thought that they looked good on offense once the drops stopped.
02:15Yeah.
02:16They got a drop issue.
02:17And before I go anywhere else on this show, I want to just say, when Caleb Williams was taken off
02:24the field and he was fist pumping the crowd and you guys just rolled him into the sunset with the
02:30memes, if y'all let this man get away with getting out of the ambulance and walking back to the
02:38field, I don't know what to tell y'all.
02:40To me, that y'all got to –
02:42He got drilled.
02:44Bruh, he got in an ambulance.
02:47What?
02:48Yeah.
02:49We playing soccer now?
02:50Didn't he go to the hospital?
02:51Didn't he go to a brief trip to the hospital and came back and played?
02:55He ain't going to no damn hospital.
02:56But he got in an ambulance.
02:58They circled the block, put him back in.
03:01Come on, man.
03:01It's Green Bay.
03:02I don't know the proximity to the hospital.
03:05It's Green Bay.
03:06They ain't got nothing but a bunch of clinics.
03:09Maybe he went to –
03:10There ain't no hospitals in Green Bay.
03:11The nearest hospital in Green Bay is in Milwaukee, bruh.
03:14Ain't nothing in Green Bay but some clinics.
03:15Yeah, well, listen.
03:17They called it a chest injury.
03:20They said he did go to the hospital, but he was cleared and he returned.
03:24He went for eight for 113.
03:26So he was actually insane.
03:28But don't believe me.
03:29That man went to the hospital across the street in an ambulance.
03:33He just drove right back over.
03:34So you're not bought in on this Packers team.
03:37No.
03:37They've played very well as of late, even though they lost to Detroit.
03:41I understand that.
03:41But you just don't believe it long-term, I'm assuming.
03:45I thought they played well against Detroit, for what it's worth.
03:48I thought they played well against Detroit as well.
03:50They just weren't able to win that game.
03:52I think that the game that they've won, you can only play the teams on your schedule that
03:56particular week.
03:57And I thought that they, I mean, all jokes aside, I thought they played very good football.
04:00They did exactly what they were supposed to do to Chicago Bears.
04:03And to me, that's a sign of a productive team.
04:05When you're supposed to beat a team and you beat the snot out of that team.
04:09That's what I like to see.
04:10I thought tonight was one of those games where you should have beat the snot out of the Panthers.
04:14And you really didn't, they still had a chance to win that game if they could convert on third
04:19or fourth down and Bryce Young stops throwing the ball into the dirt.
04:23But again, I thought that the Green Bay Packers have, again, beaten the team that they've been
04:29across, but I haven't been impressed with their win since, you know, destroying Chicago.
04:34Yeah.
04:34And another big issue for Green Bay is their kicker, Smack.
04:40It's so funny.
04:41Every time I see his name, it's just insane to me.
04:44But Trey Smack, he missed a PAT off the left upright.
04:49It was his eighth missed kick this season.
04:51Now we've seen the Rams.
04:53Obviously, they're going through their carousel of kickers right now.
04:56And they're obviously looking to be a playoff team.
04:58Like this is an issue if they're going to get into like a one score game in January,
05:02if they're going to get into these close games, right?
05:05Can I raise you a special teams issue?
05:08Because they fumbled the opening kickoff.
05:10There you go.
