00:05Hey everyone, it's Taylor from Refinery29.
00:08Ask and you shall receive.
00:09Today I'm going to show you how to do a super cool braided updo.
00:12It's always easier to get your braids to do what you want them to
00:15if you have a little bit of texture and grit to your hair.
00:18Today I'll be using the Got to Be Back to Bed Texture Powder,
00:21the Goody Spin Pins,
00:23four skinny rubber bands,
00:25and the Sebastian Shaper Hairspray.
00:28Starting with the texture powder,
00:29you're going to want to pour a little bit of the product into your hand.
00:33Because this comes out like a powder and we want it more of a liquid,
00:36we need to emulsify it by pressing our hands together.
00:40I like to scrunch this into the ends of my hair.
00:43You can add a little bit to your roots,
00:44but since my hair gets super oily super quickly, I avoid my roots.
00:50Now I'm going to put my hair into two low ponytails at the base of my neck.
00:54You can leave a little out in the front
00:55if you want to add a little bit more dimension to the look.
01:05At this point, I like to loosen things up a little bit
01:08to give the look a more relaxed feel.
01:11And now we're ready to braid.
01:13I'm just putting in regular three strand braids on each side.
01:24The next step is to loosen the braid up.
01:26You can do that by just pulling it apart with your hands.
01:30Now I'm going to tie the braids together at the nape of my neck.
01:33Depending on how long your hair is,
01:35you might have to weave them into each other more.
01:36Because my hair is a little bit longer,
01:39I'll be taking the loose ends and curling one over the top and securing it.
01:48And then one under the bottom side and securing that as well.
01:59For the last step, we're going to secure our updo with a flexible hold hairspray.
02:10And there you have it.
02:11And it's easy.
02:13And it's easy.
02:14And it's easy.
02:16And it's easy.
