00:04Hey everyone, it's Taylor from Refinery29. Today I'm going to show you how to mix your
00:08makeup like a pro. So if you're normally a tinted moisturizer wear and you need a
00:15little bit more coverage, you can mix your concealer in and you're going to get more
00:18of a medium finish. Now because concealer is a little bit more opaque than a tinted
00:24moisturizer, you want to use a very, very little bit of the tinted moisturizer. I'm
00:28using the Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturizer and I'm going to be mixing it
00:32in with the Tarte creaseless concealer. Now because this concealer is really
00:38intense, I only need a tiny, tiny bit of it. And again, we're just going to mix it
00:43with our finger. This is going to take the tinted moisturizer from ultra sheer to
00:50more of a medium coverage, which will cover up more redness and even the skin
00:54tone out, even more than just the tinted moisturizer alone.
01:04Now it's time to talk about lips.
01:08So with all the different lip trends out on the market, it can be a little daunting if
01:11you're more of a one lipstick kind of girl. Today I'm going to show you how to
01:14mix a few different colors with a few different lip products and get endless
01:17possibilities. Most of us have a classic red lipstick in our kit, but how do you take
01:22that classic red lipstick to a deep jewel tone for fall or lighten it up for a
01:26lighter pink for spring? I'll show you how to do that with just two extra products.
01:31So the lipstick I'm going to be using is the NARS Shanghai Express, which is a really
01:35opaque burnt red almost. I'm going to start by just applying that to the lip.
01:52So once you've applied it, you're going to blot a little bit off so that it doesn't get too
01:55crazy and too thick on your lip.
02:02Now I'm going to go in with the Estee Lauder Gun Metal Luminizer, which is a gray lipstick.
02:08It looks a little scary and by itself it would probably make you look like a corpse, but
02:13over the Shanghai Express it's going to turn into a really deep, beautiful jewel tone.
02:26And voila, a beautiful jewel tone for fall.
02:31And now using the same red lipstick, I'm going to show you how to create a lighter, fresher look.
02:36So taking the Shanghai Express, we're going to apply it again, but this time we're just
02:40going to blot it on so it's almost like a stain.
02:51And you can blend it out with your finger if you don't get it uneven.
02:57And now using the NARS Albatross Lip Gloss, which is a white shimmery lip gloss, we're going
03:02to apply right over the lipstick to create a lighter, glossier look.
03:10So there you have it.
03:11With a few essentials in your makeup bag, you can create a bunch of new looks.
