00:06Today I'm facing my fears and double daring myself to try a summer smoky eye. So tell me
00:13why this summer smoky eye is your biggest makeup fear. I'm really just terrified that you look like
00:19Kris Jenner. What I would love to do is show you an eye that's really easy to apply, easy to
00:25wear,
00:25and holds up even in warm humid summer months. Sounds like a plan to me. Let's get started.
00:31So the first thing that I do with a really easy summer smoky eye is give you a guide and
00:36also give
00:37you something to hold the product. So I'm starting with a matte taupe eyeshadow on a soft brush and
00:43I'm bringing a little color in the crease back and forth like a windshield wiper for definition and
00:48then also sweeping that same taupe shadow right along the top and bottom lash line. A lot of
00:55people get confused by what makes a look smoky and people think it's color in the crease or a V
01:00shape but really what makes the eye smoky is the color that's concentrated along the lash line. So
01:05we're gonna go in and we're gonna give you a really beautiful sultry saturation. I'm using a black
01:10pencil. Just open your eyes and look right up and I'm going right on that waterline and then right
01:18along the lash line. And then I'm taking a soft smudgy brush and I'm just blending that color right
01:27up. And it's not about getting a perfect line. It's just about getting that color packed right down
01:32to the lash. Next thing that we're gonna do is we're gonna bring in some texture and some light. So
01:38I'm starting with just a gold eyeshadow. I'm bringing the color onto the lid from crease to lash but I'm
01:47also
01:47dragging it over that black line. It's gonna soften that black line and give us kind of a patina effect
01:53which I love for these warm summer months. So the last thing I'm doing is taking the same metallic shadow
01:59on a
02:00smudgy brush and I'm just dragging it right over that black line we put on the bottom. And bringing those
02:07metals over the black gives you a really soft sexy summer eye. Take a look. Oh it does look great.
02:14And my mom would hate it, which I love.

02:22Well that part was easy. This one's a little bit hairier than the other steps but I'm surviving. Made myself
