00:22of course we have the one and only uh i'm anthony thompson ii i'm a producer a speaker a minister
00:30and i'm here to have some fun today and talk to y'all about this conference coming up
00:34or whatever else y'all want to talk about oh we're talking about it all today we're gonna cover
00:38grounds let's get it let's get it so you so the conference you said is happening next month yep
00:44what's the name of it 13th through november 15th and it is your global experience and it's a
00:52leadership conference oh wow it's a leadership conference we bring in a lot of youth and we
00:56have people from all over the city that are powerful people that are helping transform
01:02some of the youth and the community so the whole community is involved and invited as well it's a
01:07free conference oh you know we like free you know if it's free if it's free we in the building
01:12we in
01:12the building so is this your first time doing this conference or this is like a every year type of
01:16thing this is what's so crazy for 15 years we have been doing a one-day event to where we
01:24feed the
01:25community and give away clothes last year we did 500 sneaker giveaway as well um but god said to
01:33expand it yes and so like now we expand into an actual conference and he said you got to feed
01:38the
01:38people with more than just you know material things they got to also get things that help their spirit
01:44and help them grow you know in their careers so yeah so it was time to add and just build
01:50it up
01:50and then with this conference you get a little bit of all of that you getting the whole meal
01:54the whole meal can you break down right i want to say break it all down for example friday is
02:01the
02:01first day we already have 500 youth coming and yeah so we got 500 youth already coming uh also we
02:09have
02:10a lot of the community is coming as well so on friday from like 9 to 12 we got forgotten
02:16harvest that
02:17will be giving out food and all those things and then we have a few other partners that's going
02:21to give away toys and clothes uh we also have different panels so we have panels that people
02:27that's on the education people in government people that's in finance and faith and they're going to
02:33really help uh speak into the youth life about you know different issues and ways that they can build
02:40their career so it's a lot of networking and connections going on as well and then on day two that
02:46saturday what we're having is we're doing a youth clinic for the youth for sports then from there
02:53we're going to have workshops so we have fashion workshops movie tv film workshops music workshops
03:00all these different workshops that can help these are from industry professionals and it's a lot of
03:05people that y'all know you know that's going to be there and that's going to help open some doors

03:10a couple familiar faces i'm like oh this is going to be really good conference oh yeah yeah you know
03:14you don't have just you have like the dentistry the best to do it in the business as far as
03:20film
03:21industry you know you have fire chief james harris in regards to the community you know um you also
03:29have dr michelle leno talk about her a little bit that's interesting talk about dr michelle so dr michelle
03:35is um a licensed psychologist okay and she has her own practice and she also has her own tv show
03:44called mind matters with dr michelle that airs on saturdays so we're going to get you on her show
03:50yeah i'm excited to come on your show yeah i had i just had a client dice clark um on
03:59her show this
03:59past saturday shout out to dice oh good good people good people so a lot of people who you
04:06already know we already network with in a community a lot of uh of the familiar faces keon clinton he
04:13also will be on the panel some new faces who we i've never worked with but i've done work in
04:19the
04:19community but i haven't done pr work with stephen mcgee he's the superintendent of harper woods
04:25school district and i mean i'm laughing because you said chief um harris chief harris is one of
04:32the only firemen i've ever seen with that much swag yeah like he made me in a fireman
04:37you can tell you like you can spot him in any room i'm like okay all right and then he
04:45you know
04:46he got the cartier yeah you know he keeps the bus he keeps the bus i mean i can't be
04:52mad because
04:52that's how you represent the city you know and he always out at every event but guess what we got
04:57my brother rose spit that's going to be a moderator for the entertainment panel really so spit coming
05:05out now we got some folks coming out so who's on the entertainment panel we want y'all to go

06:40this young man graduated from university of michigan okay very intelligent talked about worked for the
06:45city detroit in the finance department with duggan this young man raised over a billion dollars to
06:52get the city out of debt over a billion we got some bad boys on this panel so you're leaving
06:58vance k jackson one of the best of the best out here and he freaking like and then gail is
07:04on there
07:05with him gail everybody got mama okay tell them about gail you know gail so yeah gail perry mason
07:12money matters is on the panel and gail is one of the one she is the bomb she is the
07:18bomb i love gail
07:19perry mason the financial that she's the money coach the money queen the money money coach the money
07:26guru the money queen oh she got her own swag as well yeah she's out here everywhere because you
07:32know you're from the city you know you're from the city you represent and that's the best way to do

07:36i just love that because it looks like you're gonna get a little bit of everything only with a little
07:39education yes and maybe some opportunities no some serious opportunities a lot of opportunities i mean
07:44that's the best way because when you out here networking it's hard to find your people you know
07:49everybody's doing one thing the other this is a little bit everything i'm really excited for the
07:53panels because it really gives you a real insight on what's well really what's what helped shape
07:59this whole thing is because god told me about the cultural mountains and ironically my book is out

08:36about the book for a second the book cultural mountains it took me seven years to write
08:40seven cultural mountains seven years to write okay and then the book is about transforming culture
08:45and lead with purpose with influence and faith so like no matter what area you in whether it's business
08:52whether it's a faith community whether it's government family it's the blue it's like a biblical
08:58blueprint on how to be have influence and success in those areas so in all those areas like i'm really
09:05like god did a download like y'all really need to tap in and read this book because it's really
09:10a game changer and you took your time history like so his new walk in christ i'm saying new
09:17you know tell her about where you started and then how did you transition over to your new walk
09:23now oh a ministry now first of all y'all be trying to play me i got saved in college
09:29i've been a
09:30christian since college how many times you get baptized once so i've been saved since college i received
09:37christ in college at michigan state university go green amen and so now i'm in ministry now so i'm i'm
09:45a
09:45minister i'm ordained and licensed minister uh it's been about for about a year but i have been working
09:51in ministry for many years uh and it's just been something that god called me to i had to get
09:57a
09:57little pull from the bishops but god called me to ministry and then like god said that you know i
10:04was been working the entertainment industry for 15 years so from working the entertainment industry he
10:10said i'm not going to pull you out of it he just transforming and shaping me to help lead and
10:15influence for the faith and family culture so it's just i got an assignment that yes i have to deliver
10:22on oh and you deliver it okay you're delivering it so i'm not a guy that grew up in the
10:28church
10:28you know and understand i'm not the how do i say it i didn't come up with the church politics
10:36you know it's strictly about god and jesus christ message with me so it's strictly that i go to a
10:44non-denominational church uh but like christian center bishop harold duncan and my father-in-law is
10:50like he's one of my mentors and so you know i'm just honored to even serve god and like look
10:58how smooth
10:58god is this is how dope god is i went from promoting and marketing and touring with the biggest artists
11:05in the
11:05world telling their stories you know and putting their projects together now the best and the
11:12biggest story in history god called me to help marketing and promote that so this is an honor
11:18to get behind the greatest of all time the real goat jesus christ okay that's the goat i like that
11:25that's
11:25how you say it and how do you pronounce your ministry again yura global oh yura it means reverence
11:34for god and all with god funny story is i kept hearing god could come in the dream and he
11:41kept
11:41saying yura yura yura i'm like what the heck is that i didn't know what it was i called my
11:45team up
11:46it's like hey we supposed to start a ministry called yura this is what god told me and i was
11:53even saying
11:54it it's like you're saying yura i don't know what it meant so i started researching and looking it up
11:58i'm
11:58like oh my god in awe with god and reverence god so it's just like wow you giving this for
12:05me to
12:06steward so it's like i gotta steward this thing so like if you're gonna see all the things that we
12:11doing like we start our online bible study november 5th so every thursday at 6 p.m we gonna go
12:19to
12:19yura global.org and then the online bible study i'm telling you there's nothing like it now can you
12:24also watch the services online well no because that's me doing it at the church so when i when i
12:29travel and and teach and minister you'll be able to because we'll post that but the bible studies
12:36is thursdays and it'll be every thursday at 6 p.m but whatever days they assign me to preach at
12:43my
12:44home church that's when i preach but i also go out and preach at different churches oh yes
12:48so it's like wherever god called me to that's where i'm going you know that's a beautiful thing
12:53that's why i'm excited about this conference november is popping november gonna be the year
12:56it's gonna be the month november 5th the bible study start online november 8th the the book comes
13:02out and it's my mama birthday oh special two small dudes okay and november 13th through 15th is the
13:08conference so november is a big deal you're gonna be busy oh yeah we ready for it though you know
13:14it's
13:14time to get it going but the main thing is about helping people develop okay it's about helping
13:19people develop and it's like how do you take these this word and these skills and actually apply it to
13:24your life this ain't we don't do those feel good messages we do application and it is like it's nice
13:30to see that you can go beyond right amen yeah i mean it goes beyond that beyond social media because
13:37you gotta think you can go further than just your phone to learn something you know this is educational
13:42so i'm really excited what's one of your favorite panels out of the three well out of three days
13:47what's your favorite panel well who are you looking forward to see the most i'm gonna say all of them
13:52oh see that's that's cheating you can't say that you can't say that
13:58business and finance is what my background is in business i majored in business at michigan state oh
14:03shout out to the business college they always have me come speak okay shout out um but
14:07i am an entertainment guy i mean again in college i was at playing football at michigan state but i
14:15also had an internship at sony epic records then i went on to work at capital records then i went
14:20on
14:20to work with disney marvel studios and live nation so i am an entertainment guy who are some of the
14:26artists you've worked with man i worked with a million of them like the neos the kanye west uh shout
14:33out to my brothers because i got my start with slum village so shout out to rj rice shout out
14:40to
14:40young rj to j dilla to t3 to buy 10 that's family you know so you know those guys like
14:49we was 12 years
14:50old and he invited me in the studio and i never left so i owe so much to to rj
14:57rice we i call him
14:58um because he's my family oh wow so see all that i don't even have to ask who's your favorite
15:02or who
15:03was your favorite person to work with because that i mean we didn't work with a lot of people
15:08i mean from working a lot of nation touring with lil wang i worked in uh operations so i helped
15:14put
15:14everything together and manage a lot of things so that's why i'm able to do so many things at one
15:19time that and then now then i also heard you a little celebrity as well you know you were
15:24i ain't gonna say celebrity we've been on tv i mean we've been on tv you were on the big
15:28screen
15:29so people will be calling themselves celebrities but superstars or celebrities i mean just from a
15:34little bit i'll say this we will cd list celebrities here the a list is like the youtube artist i'm
15:43just
15:43saying that it's a different i mean just by the little history that you just gave us okay this little
15:47background that you gave us i think you are entitled to i appreciate love absolutely i received
15:52that love and that's only a snippet he didn't even going to the disney you know how he worked with
15:56disney yeah i'm just like come on now you're too modest working on films like my favorite thing to
16:00work on was like black adam you know that was uh really and then like the difference is when you
16:06work at major studios you're building little cities it's like departments like construction
16:12departments you know hair so you were building the sets i wasn't physically building the set but we
16:19had departments that did that so you were just working you were you were just the mastermind
16:25behind all of it not saying the masterminds one of the producers or i might be one of the sound
16:29engineers like i worked in the production make sure it all was right department so yeah we everybody
16:34had a slot in the role to do but i was able to always you know um play my position
16:42and play my
16:42part and be a team player you know that's always tell our parents about have your kids play youth
16:47sports because it teaches you how to be a team player it teaches you how to be disciplined so it's
16:53important that kids like do sports and do instruments and things because it helps sharpen that mind too
16:59so i love that that is dope and then you just woke up one day with a calling i ain't
17:05gonna say just i
17:06mean i knew it was there a long time ago but i kind of tried to ignore it for my
17:13wife because she
17:14didn't want nothing she didn't because like she grew up a pk okay so she didn't want to be in
17:19that
17:19part of ministry and so like that's still like a struggle in our household yeah it's still a struggle
17:26just being transparent it's still a struggle in our household because like even when i'm up to
17:30preach she'd be like ah why you got to do it this you know because she don't want to be
17:35looked at as
17:36a uh a preacher's wife or a pastor's wife you know she already had to live through being a pastor's
17:43kid
17:45ah so some of that can be trauma yeah you know having to grow up and be perfect and everybody
17:50watching
17:51you and now she's not her husband gotta be perfect so i don't know nothing about it i didn't grow
17:56up
17:56like i mean you're held to a higher standard yeah you are i mean you talk about it growing up
18:01in it
18:02and who your family was yeah i mean you know my uh dad was a deacon so he's deacon's kids
18:08but in a
18:08small church setting uh the deacon is like next to the pastor you know the closest thing and the
18:14pastor was his cousin you know and so yeah we was in church sunday to sunday oh yeah no i
18:22can
18:22understand that too well jesus yes okay so bionna how do you feel about being a part of this i
18:28am
18:28excited i have been wanting to work with anthony for some years now and you know i will see him
18:35out all
18:36the time at all these events and i'll always tell him i'm gonna work with you we gotta work together
18:40we gotta connect and so one day he just reached out to me and said hey i want to work
18:44with you on
18:44i want you to help me with this project so i'm thinking i'm just gonna promote i said god said
18:48it's time he said god said it's time exactly you know it's time you can't say no yes you can't
18:53say
18:53no to god you can't say no you can't say no period no so you can't say no to god
18:58so i i'm always game
18:59for anything but especially when god is in it then i want to be a part of it and so
19:05we met and you
19:07know we just vibed and clicked and it's been working from from there yeah she was seeing me
19:13always at all the in the back sitting back quiet yeah say what's up i need to talk but you
19:20know you
19:21a big you know you big when you're just able to just chill in the background but you always there
19:25i just respect everybody i respect i respect everybody's uh what they have going on and i always
19:31want to be a help if anything like what do you need you need me to assist in this way
19:36or do you
19:37what what is it that i can offer even with me now you know i'm doing my pr work yeah
19:42uh i'm helping
19:43him with the production part of this conference but i got my pr stuff still going on as well
19:48and he asking me kelly what do you need what do you need i'm like um okay but he did
19:53you know come
19:54to an event about two weeks ago uh with the mental huddle with one of my clients and he came
20:00and brought
20:01his son and you know just supported me in that way and i'm like wow you know you really admire
20:06somebody that's like that who don't always have to be in the forefront you know the bible says he
20:11that is ruler of all must first be servant of all oh talk about servant leadership is what he does
20:17and
20:17i'm really you know happy to be on his team oh man i'm happy that we having this conversation
20:22right now it's very it's very powerful and i just really it's it's conferences and things like
20:28this that really just speaks to my heart because i feel like we don't have a lot of people just
20:32advocating for it like for us for the youth you know just in general i mean i feel like all
20:36these
20:37things are key points and and god is calling people to the forefront and kelly is one of the people
20:42that
20:42god's calling to the forefront like seriously and then this panel is important because these are
20:47people that are stepping into new leadership yes and it's it's a it's a transition happening
20:53it's a transition happening right now in the church it's a transition happening in our city
20:58it's a transition happening in our state and god like detroit is a shift detroit is the city of god
21:05like god's hand is on detroit and on the state of michigan because i call detroit the city of god
21:09and michigan the state of abundance because the things that god is doing like that in our state and
21:14in our city yeah and so like some people trying to resist but like even some of these pastors it's
21:21like
21:21it's to change in the guards and it's like time not saying that y'all it's time for y'all
21:25to like
21:26be done right but it's time it's it's like they don't see that guy trying to elevate them to be
21:31more
21:32of helping and teaching yeah and being a mentor to some of the ones that's coming up now that's about
21:38to pass them down the mantle exactly so it's a major shift happening it's a major shift happening
21:44in politics in detroit yeah and people got to support and understand like even our mayor
21:49even though she's very qualified it's a lot of things that she's still learning yeah and god's
21:55positioning her you know so that she can be very effective because like she ain't going nowhere
22:00no all right y'all can say which i want to say like i don't know god gonna take her
22:04up to governor next
22:05or whatever but it's an anointing on her so she ain't going nowhere so you know it's just so much
22:11of
22:12that you know going on our city and then that's why i pray and cover our city because like it's
22:17so many
22:18people that needs that encouragement but also they're being elevated yeah and integrity is a
22:23big deal yeah so we gotta like talk to the youth and these are the next ones that's coming up
22:28as
22:28voters and the ones that we gotta teach them so they can learn what's going on in the city because
22:33a lot of our kids don't know they don't like we got programs in school entertainment university we
22:38got we serve as a 5 000 kids five days a week and it's an entertainment university teaches music film
22:44tv fashion sports the business production side so we're dealing with kids on like we're helping
22:49them learn and increase their reading levels and writing skills and it's a major deficit out here
22:54yeah it's a major deficit so it's like how do we equip our youth because the ones coming behind us
23:02it's important that they be trained right and then how do we lead properly and influence the right way
23:07god's way exactly so that's just what why your ride global conference is so important because god
23:15is using this as a vehicle that's going so our new leaders can touch the youth so our new leaders
23:21can
23:22touch the community because it's not just for the you it's for the entire community and we're coming
23:27together right yes we can't operate in silos and think we're going to get more done we get more done
23:35when we come together so it's a unity thing unity in the community and so that's what anthony is doing
23:42bringing everybody together one band one sound and then we're going to make a greater impact in the
23:48city and let me thank everybody number one because everybody volunteering yes nobody's getting paid i'm
23:53not getting it's all free literally and nobody's giving everybody's volunteering time and they're
24:00volunteering their gift and their skill set so that we can bring in other entities so that we can
24:06give so we can give we're going to get a return you know because god always does that but this
24:11is not
24:11no money grab this ain't about because like people came to me like oh we can you can sell tickets
24:15let's
24:16say i said no no that ain't what god said do god said that this is for the community and
24:20this is free
24:21this is something that you know we need people to get connected to these leaders and then so that we
24:28can
24:28have go through this transition and influence the youth so and the community so this is very
24:33important so that's why it's free because god said it was free and listen you can't say no to god
24:41no that's that's that's really deep really powerful and that's why they they can get in but they have to
24:46register correct they have to register and then like i didn't say the conference was free i just said
24:52that people volunteer and that um we didn't get paid anything but donations would help to help cover
