00:00Bears and Seahawks, you know, I got to hand it to John Schneider, the general manager of the Seahawks.
00:06I mean, he goes out and gets Nelson.
00:08There's even a conversation, Jacob, that you could see maybe Jonathan Taylor of the Colts landing in Seattle.
00:16Before we get to the game tonight, I know that the Bears made a move.
00:20They got Jeffrey Simmons.
00:22That was a gigantic move.
00:24Could you see both of these teams still making some more moves before November 10th?
00:28That's the trading deadline.
00:30Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me at all.
00:32I think you mentioned Jonathan Taylor.
00:33He'd be a good fit for the Seahawks because that Quentin Nelson trade gives them an excellent run blocking offensive
00:39line now.
00:40And yeah, they have some guys come back from injury.
00:42Jadarian Price, the first round rookie, and Zach Charbonnet, both should be back this week.
00:46But they still don't have like a true three down workhorse there that's proven.
00:50So I can see them saying we got to get someone to help JSN carry this offense.
00:55And Jonathan Taylor would be a great fit.
00:57And they already made a deal with the Colts.
00:58So who knows?
00:59Maybe they already discussed that.
01:00So I would like that.
01:01And then I think the Bears, you know, there's a lot of different areas that they could address.
01:05But I think that they could still look at adding more to that defensive line and the edge rush because
01:10Simmons on the interior is a massive upgrade.
01:12But, you know, guys like Josh Sweat on the edge from Arizona, he'd be a guy I'd be interested in.
01:18Or Khalil Mack, a reunion with him could be massive for the Bears because Khalil is still playing a lot
01:23of snaps for that Chargers defense.
01:25And I would assume he gets dealt to a contender because why would they keep him around on a one
01:29-year deal?
01:29He's 35.
01:32Absolutely.
01:32Do you think John Schneider, the general manager of the Seahawks, miscalculated on the Kenneth Walker negotiations?
01:39I mean, they just let him walk out of the building.
01:41They didn't really even offer him any kind of contract.
01:45And that was one of the formula pieces of a year ago.
01:49Played great defense.
01:50Controlled the clock with running the football.
01:52They just made a move, as you said, for Nelson, for the guard.
01:55And then they really haven't been able to get that running game going.
01:58Now they're starting to see a little bit of a resemblance of what they did a year ago.
02:01They want to upgrade, obviously.
02:03But do you think they miscalculated on letting Walker walk out of the building, the Super Bowl MVP?
02:09I think they probably did.
02:11Listen, I understand why teams don't necessarily want to pay big money to running backs, given the short shelf life
02:17and the injury history they have.
02:18But I think for the Seahawks, if you looked at their offensive identity last year during the playoff run and
02:24how important Kenneth Walker was to that, I think you could easily have seen there being a decline coming.
02:29Especially with Zach Charbonnet, you know, recovering from the torn ACL.
02:33So I understand liking Jadarian Price as a prospect.
02:35I think he'll eventually be a good running back.
02:38But when you have a Super Bowl window open, and the Seahawks are certainly threats to repeat.
02:43They're not a team that went to the Super Bowl and we were all saying, oh, there was a flash
02:46in the pan.
02:46We all know that that defense is going to be around to stay.
02:49So I probably would have said maybe they should have ponied up a little bit more for Kenneth Walker.
02:54Hindsight's obviously 20-20.
02:56And if Jadarian Price hadn't gotten hurt and hadn't had fumble issues, maybe we're talking about this differently.
03:00But I think certainly at the midpoint of the season, John Schneider is probably saying, yeah, I kind of regret
03:05that decision a little bit.
03:07Even if they do eventually figure things out with the running game.
03:11Seattle's really a tough place to play, Jacob, as you know.
03:13I mean, I've played up there a couple times, and that is just nuts.
03:17Now, not in the new building, but at the old Kingdome here.
03:20What do you think tonight?
03:21I mean, you look at this right now.
03:24I mean, this is going to be really a back-and-forth football game.
03:26We might see this as a precursor, again, to a conference championship here.
03:31What do you think tonight?
03:33Yeah, you read my mind.
03:34I'm looking at these two teams and saying, man, these might be two of the hardest teams to beat in
03:38the NFC.
03:39I am probably siding with the Seahawks for the very reason you stated.
03:42It is just so hard to go into that stadium and win with the 12th man there.
03:47And I also think the Seahawks are going to have a little bit more of an offensive identity with Quentin
03:52Nelson getting in there.
03:53I think their running game is going to be significantly upgraded with Charbonnet and Price back.
03:57They're going to have a three-headed monster when you add Emmanuel Wilson there.
04:00So I'm looking for them to try to kind of control the clock there, take a little pressure off of
04:05JSN, and try to keep the Bears' offense off the field.
04:08But I do think the Bears will play well.
04:10Caleb Williams is just making throws that few quarterbacks can make.
04:14He's fitting the ball into tight windows.
04:15He's just so dynamic.
04:16He's so fun to watch.
04:18I'm excited to see him.
04:19I'm excited to see how Jeffrey Simmons impacts that Bears' defensive line.
04:23But at the end of the day, I think the Seahawks will win a tight one.
04:26I just – anytime I can back them at home, I'm going to be doing it.
04:31Do you think a guy like Caleb Williams can play himself back into the MVP conversation with a game like
04:38this tonight?
04:39I know he's missed significant time.
04:41There's still a lot of football to be played here.
04:43Do you think he can play himself into a conversation where, you know, we're talking about potentially an MVP candidate
04:49here?
04:51Yeah, I think you can certainly make the case for him.
04:53I think if he didn't miss those three games, I think we'd be looking at it more and saying, man,
04:57this guy is playing at such a high level right now.
05:00Now, of course, the problem with the MVP conversation is you can argue about who the most valuable player is
05:05regardless of stats.
05:06But at the end of the day, the accumulation of stats does matter a fair amount.
05:10But, you know, looking at these odds, I think he can certainly work his way probably into the top five
05:15if he continues to play well and have the Bears winning big games like this, especially in primetime.
