00:00Hello again. Very good evening to you. Now, looking at the bigger picture, there's not a huge amount changing through
00:06the rest of this week, but the detail, well, that does differ.
00:10If we look at the synoptic setup, we have high pressure sitting over the north of the UK, but it
00:15is edging a bit further northwards.
00:17It's not getting as high through the next few days, and that's going to have a knock-on effect on
00:21both the wind direction further south and also how blustery it's going to be.
00:25But looking at the details through the rest of today, and there are quite a few showers still across parts
00:31of the southeast this evening, but they filter further westwards as the winds go round to more of an easterly,
00:37affecting some more central areas, also western parts of England and Wales as we go through the early hours of
00:42tomorrow morning.
00:43There will still be some showers in the east, but not as many as we've seen through today.
00:47Meanwhile, across Scotland and Northern Ireland, a few showers here and there, but generally dry. Lots of clear skies here
00:52as well.
00:53And because we're closer to that high pressure, the winds are going to be lighter.
00:56As a result, temperatures here are going to drop lower. Rural spots likely to drop a couple of degrees below
01:02freezing.
01:02So there will be some frost in prone spots first thing tomorrow morning. Also some mist and fog again, similar
01:07to this morning.
01:09Further south, more cloud here. There will be the showers, yes, and also that brisk breeze.
01:13And so temperatures not dropping as much here. A bit of a milder start to the day across southern parts
01:18tomorrow morning.
01:19Through the day then, there are still these showers coming in from the east.
01:22We have this easterly wind. And so they are going to be relatively frequent, but also not particularly heavy.
01:29And they'll filter further westwards through the afternoon.
01:32So western parts more likely to see some showers arriving later.
01:35Perhaps a bit more in the way of sunshine developing across eastern parts through the afternoon.
01:40All the time, apart from one or two showers that come through Northern Ireland, much of Scotland, even the far
01:45northwest of England,
01:46actually staying dry with some decent sunshine on offer as well.
01:49So whilst it's chilliest here during the night time with the clear skies, the flip side is we get the
01:55sunniest skies during the day.
01:57With that then, temperatures there are going to be ever so slightly down compared to today for many places.
02:02Still just about getting into double digits.
02:04Highs around 11 or 12 Celsius in the north and maybe 12 or 13 Celsius further south.
02:09When you factor in the breeze that's coming in from the east, well, that's going to make it feel a
02:13little bit chillier.
02:14A few showers still to come through the end of the day on Wednesday.
02:17And with that easterly continuing, whilst it is going to be easing a little bit, there's still the chance of
02:22some further showers overnight.
02:24And actually across parts of the west country, a greater chance of seeing some sherry bursts through the early hours
02:29of Thursday morning.
02:30Yes, there will be some clear spells across some central areas.
02:33The Midlands, East Anglia, Wales coming up with some clearer skies.
02:36But even here, there is still the breeze.
02:38So I'm not expecting mist and fog to be too much of an issue here on Thursday morning.
02:42But yet again, across parts of the northwest where we have the clearer skies, the lighter winds, there could be
02:47some locally dense patches of fog,
02:48maybe even freezing fog, as temperatures for some places could get into, well, negative figures.
02:54And so we're looking at temperatures again, yes, dropping a couple of degrees below freezing in prone spots further south.
03:00Perhaps not quite as mild as this coming night, but nonetheless not as chilly as it will be further north.
03:06Thursday, we still have that high pressure sitting just to the north of the UK.
03:10We still have a bit of an easterly flow, but it's perhaps not going to be as strong.
03:14Still a breeze, yes, but less blustery than it has been through much of the week.
03:18And we're going to see fewer showers across southern areas, not totally dry.
03:21Still some pushing into parts of the southwest.
03:25And then perhaps a greater chance of some showers across more northern areas compared to earlier on in the week.
03:30But even here, the showers are going to be fairly few and far between and not particularly heavy either.
03:34Temperatures are coming down again a degree or so, particularly if we have a fair amount of cloud around, which
03:40it could be quite cloudy at times on Thursday.
03:42So that's going to add to the chillier feel for sure, even if the winds have eased a little bit,
03:47which should kind of counter that chillier feel under the cloud.
03:51As we go towards the very end of the week, and while the high pressure sticks around, it's good news
03:56for people heading to fireworks displays because the winds won't be particularly strong.
03:59There'll be a lot of dry weather around, but it's definitely not going to be dry everywhere.
04:04There's the potential for some showery rain to affect parts of the southwest.
04:08That could just about fringe in through Friday and perhaps into the weekend and then a few showers dotted around
04:13elsewhere.
04:14But yeah, for many of us, the weather's looking largely fine.
04:17Whatever you're up to, I do hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
04:20Bye-bye.
