00:03we open the show with michigan michigan state talk and continue to take your
00:07predictions at 248-539-9797 we also started talking about maybe another lions takeover
00:13if you're going to the game down in miami i always love hearing fans on the road their plans
00:17what they're planning on doing where they're sitting how they got the tickets their tailgate
00:21set up whatever it may be how many people in your crew lions playing in miami lions takeovers have
00:27become a thing although i pointed out and and kang has been there too and we both talked about how
00:32hard rock's a bit of a disappointment like maybe it's the expectation was too high i thought like
00:37orange bowl national championship super bowl and i got there and yeah but as you know as we but you
00:45were there for a professional i was there both all three times in professional capacity and there are
00:50parts about it that were hard to work in which was weird um but kang's been there as a fan
00:56and said
00:56it's really nothing special and it's also out in the middle of nowhere well relative to like
01:00this is kind of like jerry world's out in the middle of nowhere kind of yeah it's a good call
01:03but jerry world well that's different that's impressive yeah jerry world looks like that's an
01:08experience yeah you know it's like 2000 a space odyssey 2001 a space odyssey like it's
01:15crazy if you know what i'm sorry dave the cowboys suck
01:22hell hell i can't help you your owner is your impediment it's like the scene from um the movie
01:31her remember that one that's what jerry world is like i don't remember it's only different i was
01:37talking to gator okay
01:42it's a futuristic and you know gators doing that voice it's not like uh i sound like scarlet
01:47yeah yep relationship with siri basically is what it is he fell in love with siri yeah literally not
01:56not actually women no that are there beautiful women in that movie and he's like i gotta get home
02:02and talk to siri it's crazy somebody needs some help well maybe that's why jerry does what he does
02:09he talks to siri and just says i talked to siri and i write greeting cards it's a reference to
02:17her
02:17okay um well i'll make a movie reference to jerry world here we go do you remember the movie contact
02:23yes yes that's what jerry world reminded me of like that big gyroscope thing that they they built two
02:28of them yeah yes and the cowboys play in one of them uh i walk along the beach see my
02:35dad
02:36248-539-9797 let's go to mike in dearborn you're on 971 hello mike how you doing what's up
02:45uh the great american ballpark it's not so great cincinnati yeah it's not i wasn't impressed at all
02:53no went to a tigers game flat or a couple years ago and uh yeah i don't know why it's
03:02called the
03:03great american ballpark that's probably a sponsorship of some kind but um so what about it what about it
03:09was disappointing just uh it was kind of beat down like you know really i don't know it's just
03:18that's weird because i wasn't impressed it's relatively new yeah i know that's what i was
03:24thinking too it's not as old as co-america co-america is a really nice ballpark comparable to a lot
03:30of
03:30other stadiums but yeah i wasn't impressed at all with uh cincinnati's at all i was like why is this
03:39called the great american ballpark interesting i've been there once and i i didn't have an issue with
03:44but like it's each their own al on a cell you're next hello al hey guys appreciate you taking my
03:51call sure um one of the comments on hard rock stadium i used to be a photographer for the lions
03:57the contracted photographer nice and hard rock was one stadium i hated going to it was the worst
04:05reason being is the heat that stadium was designed uh so that the visitor's side of the field
04:11is in the sun the entire time during afternoon games so just a warning to anybody who goes to
04:19the game if you're on a visitor's side be ready for the heat because you will roast even if it's
04:24not
04:25all that hot outside the last game i shot there which i think was 2018 2019 it was late october
04:33so same
04:33time of year um it was 79 degrees outside the stadium at kickoff the large thermometer behind the
04:41lions bench at kickoff was 121 oh boy wow yeah it's brutal i hate that place well there you go
04:50and i
04:51mean look al we have unique perspectives because we both work there it's just so weird because i keep
04:57thinking this place is what they've hosted i would never have imagined that they'd be able to have
05:03these kind of working conditions but whatever you can't nobody miserable though because every time
05:07you've been there it's been like december or january that's a good point i haven't had to deal with
05:11the heat so that that's that's true and i don't know what it's going to be like what's a what's
05:15forecast like this week do you know uh i do not know but i can know real quick that's why
05:21they made
05:21the internet this is why i suppose i could have looked it up myself uh i think it says 84
05:26and sunny
05:26okay well you're gonna roast people uh don is next in ann arbor hello don hey uh the rose ball
05:35the
05:36surrounding areas there are beautiful but i think the stadium itself was old and run down wow
05:43i'm not going to disagree too much with that the stadium the stadium is just a vessel for because of
05:49the the scenery around you and the game that you're watching but the stadium itself yeah i mean it's it's
05:56the bench seating all around it's it's it's it's a little bit like the big house in a way um
06:02but
06:03it is old you know the bathrooms can be a little bit of an issue sometimes um but the placement
06:11of
06:11that stadium is what makes it absolutely and the experiences i i had i i have not had a better
06:20experience at a game in my life than the rose bowl don i mean i like like i said earlier
06:26to each
06:27their own i can't get past the religious pilgrimage type of feel uh for a midwest kid growing up and
06:33every new year's day getting to see that stadium and often associating it with pain but at the end of
06:39day it is still i and you're probably right older stadium that most people won't walk into and go
06:47well this has modern amenities but man it feels like a special place even outside like the concourse
06:53and stuff there's flowers everywhere and it's just gorgeous but yeah when pictures come up on my timeline
06:59from uh from that rose bowl i just smile yeah so yeah you know you walk into a place like
07:04that from
07:04again a midwest kid growing up it's like you hear church bells you know uh chris and canton you're
07:10next hello chris hey good morning guys what's up before i start gator i gotta tell you this is
07:16hilarious so a couple of you maybe a year ago or so doug referenced the red bull something guy was
07:24getting fired and how you knew without having any daughters right off the bat that the dude was
07:30married to one of the spice girls not only that you knew it was ginger spice and not only that
07:36you knew it was jerry hollowell you became a legend
07:42i literally don't know how a man of your ilk could name a spice girl not just her nickname but
07:48her real name oh i'm a learned man you're the man thank you i mean i could have said emily
07:53button
07:53just so people spice but just so people know what you're referencing it was christian horner was the team
07:59principal for red bull racing in f1 and when he got fired i brought it up in the air not
08:05because i
08:06follow f1 racing but simply because i watch the tv show on netflix uh that goes behind the scenes and
08:13i love the show and i can't stand the racing because i fall asleep every race i watch and yes
08:18gator could
08:18fire off immediately yep married to a spice girl right tell me what you want what you really really want
08:24yeah exactly but um seriously the most me and my son chase we have been to all 30 active major
08:33league
08:33stadium that's cool so it's always exciting that took us 23 years to do and the most sucky park
08:41of all was dodger stadium wow i mean it was it was horrible small concourses we like to tour around
08:52the walk around the whole stadium we couldn't get into center field because that was bleachers
08:57the lines and let me tell you driving to the stadium if we were staying um near venice beach it
09:04was a
09:05two-hour freaking drive yeah that's that's that's uh california and la in particular are going to be like
09:11that but dodger stadium sucked on the other end of that spectrum we totally expected the oakland
09:19coliseum to be a dump and it was but it was a charming dump it was really a nice stadium
09:27that's
09:27cool and that was our final stadium that completed our 30 and it was like one of the last games
09:33there
09:33two years ago and the sight lines were awesome the people were great um and as bad as we thought
09:40that
09:40in tampa too we expected to be garbage and they had devil rays swimming in center field which was pretty
09:46cool right so um but dodger stadium abysmal don't go there interesting chris thank you two four eight
09:53five three nine 97 97 okay um one of the things we like to do is get a a feel
10:00for how fans are feeling
10:01and there's nothing more critical criticized than play calling in on sports talk radio how do people
10:07feel about drew petzing the results of our twitter poll very interesting we did the approval rating and we
10:13get to that at 11 20 here on carson anderson on 97.1
