00:00the peculiar story of the week which is the Arizona Cardinals taking on the Seattle Seahawks
00:05now we do know that it's backup versus backup in this game Gardner Minshew against Drew Locke when
00:11Locke has filled in for Sam Darnold he's done a pretty good job in fact he's won games without
00:17Darnold there but what did Arizona do this offseason Joe and what were they thinking I can't
00:24figure this one out so they signed Jacoby Brissett and they finally give the guy his money based off
00:30what based off the second halves of coming back in a million games last year and just stat padding
00:35so what did they think Jacoby Brissett was going to do this year Joe I don't know but how do
00:40you
00:40decide at the beginning of November to trade him for essentially nothing a fourth round pick and
00:45a second round pick going to Gardner Minshew Joe you know exactly I mean everybody knows who Gardner
00:49Minshew is he's gonna win a couple games for you and then he's gonna be Gardner Minshew and then
00:52you're gonna look for a quarterback again they also traded Harrison I mean Joe if I didn't know
00:56any better the Cardinals probably are looking at this like we've won way too many games we're way
01:00too good for what we thought we were gonna be we're chasing picks not chasing wins I can't figure this
01:06one out Cardinals sign a quarterback in the offseason this is like the Dolphins trading Malik
01:11Willis halfway through the year I mean very very odd set of circumstances for me with them yeah I think
01:18what you're gonna see here uh if I may is Gardner Minshew play this week against Seattle
01:22and he'll play against the Rams of Kansas City it's a tough stretch you're coming up and then
01:26I think eventually you will see Carson Beck get some starts here to get an evaluation of him whether
01:31it's week 12 against the Washington Commanders or coming out of the bye in week 14 into week 15 where
01:36you get the Jets New Orleans Las Vegas and then San Francisco in week 18 I think that could be
01:40the
01:40Carson Beck evaluation period in the latter part of the season Michael Wilson is gonna play today was
01:46not on the final injury report despite the rib injury which is kind of shocking to me he had a
01:50great
01:50game in that finish you mentioned last week but this is a tough matchup here for the
01:54Seattle Seahawks come up a really tough home loss there to the Chicago Bears who just put it on him
02:00last week so you're still wondering what the hell the offense of the Seattle Seahawks is right
02:06where are they going with this running game Charbonnet's come back way too soon Jadarian Price hasn't been
02:11given enough grace I think it's kind of a mess the only thing you can count on is JSN I
02:16think he is
02:17quarterback proof so you're starting JSN I think Algiers a tough start in this matchup against a
02:23very good Seattle Seahawks run defense but at the same time a unit that's probably going to have a
02:29lead you would imagine too so you're gonna have to pivot away I think a little bit from that run
02:33game
02:33early unfortunately if you are the Arizona Cardinals but I think this is just temporary I agree it's very
02:38weird I don't know what you're expecting here with Gardner Minshew but I can't expect too much it's one
02:43thing when he comes into a game it's another thing when he's the starter it's kind of that
02:46Ryan Fitzpatrick circle which is the second Ryan Fitzpatrick reference here in the show so that's
02:51it I've hit my it's not a bad it's not a bad one Minshew Minshew top five backup in in
02:55the NFL but
02:56Arizona going into the season knew this paid Brissett and now have sent him to another team
03:05just I don't know what the foresight was here really with Arizona but they should lose every game
03:09the rest of they want to lose every game I would guess the rest of the year if they could
