Palestinian fishermen say they are suffering increased attacks by Israel. They cannot fish freely because of the Israeli blockade and are subjected to frequent gunfire and shelling. In the past six months, a total of 45 Palestinian fishermen have been arrested, 17 injured and 3 killed in Israeli naval attacks. On other occasions their boats have been sunk. And the attacks not only come from Israel. The Egyptian Navy has also been harassing Palestinian fishermen on the coast of Rafah City, which is a clear violation of Palestinian fishing rights in territorial waters.
