00:00 Now, let's talk totals. Donnie, where do you see the best number tonight as it pertains
00:09 to any of that scoring output?
00:11 I think this game can go over the total, but I didn't want to take that and say, "Oh, you
00:14 know, let's just root for points the entire well." It is a national championship game.
00:18 The stage is going to be massive. It's a new environment. Last week, both of these teams
00:22 were playing in different buildings in different cities. Now, they're going to be in Houston.
00:25 You're going to have that extended period of time to open the game and also keep in
00:29 mind, what did we see particularly focusing on the Rose Bowl? Commercials, commercials,
00:34 commercials, commercials. Why do I bring that up? It's not because we hate it as watching
00:38 the game, but also the players getting into a rhythm, which includes Washington here.
00:42 If you're going to be playing three or four plays, punting or taking a timeout and taking
00:46 a three-minute commercial break, I think that's going to be a lot of disjointedness to start
00:49 the game. The reason why I took the under 28.5 in the first half has been that hook
00:54 is massive. That means they need more than four touchdown scoring drives here in order
00:58 to get over that total. Sure, field goals are going to play into it here, but if you're
01:01 just being honest, you might be looking at one six-minute drive by Michigan that ends
01:05 with a field goal in the first half to establish what they want to do. Should be good enough
01:09 here. Now, granted, yes, Washington is a great offense and Michigan might counter and you
01:13 might have 21 to 14 at the break, but I'm looking at it being college kids, big stage,
01:18 feeling out process, commercials, extra long pregame. I think they might be a little bit
01:22 like, "Okay, let's get our feet under us. I'll just lean on the under 28.5 because I
01:26 think that hook bent is pretty big."
01:29 So I did mention, right, Michigan won to 13 points in terms of that winning margin, but
01:34 I do have a position on UW as well, meaning I expect Washington to keep this game close
01:40 and I expect Washington has one way of doing that, to go over their team total of 24.5.
01:45 Does not mean that's the only way Washington wins and does not mean that if Washington
01:49 goes over 24.5 points for that Huskies team total, Michigan cannot end up being tonight's
01:55 national champion, but that's Washington's path to victory. Now, Michigan did enter the
02:00 Rose Bowl, allowing 24 points in two consecutive games against both Maryland and Ohio State,
02:08 not against Iowa, of course, who they shut out in that Big Ten championship game to end
02:12 out the regular season.
02:14 They allowed Alabama to score 20 and I thought the Crimson Tide was rather hesitant in terms
02:19 of what they did from an offensive standpoint. That is not going to be the case for Kaitlin
02:23 DeBoer, Michael Pennix, Dylan Johnson, who is playing in this football game and has a
02:29 prop out of 41.5 at this moment. I expect Washington to attack offensively and I think
02:35 if they are going to keep this game close whatsoever, it is a necessity for the Huskies
02:40 to go over 24.5 points, which I think they will do in this football game tonight.
