00:00 the NBA playoffs after a rare day off begins the conference finals tonight in
00:08 the Eastern Conference inside TD Garden it's the Boston Celtics hosting the
00:13 Indiana Pacers on the ice we had one more game seven last night in a pretty
00:19 full Monday slate in Major League Baseball where the hottest team in the
00:23 Biggs had a calamity in the ninth something unforeseen for Clay Holmes and
00:29 the Pinstripes all year long a ton to get to Donnie over these three hours
00:33 live right here on this Tuesday on the early line yes some big comebacks
00:37 yesterday - if you're watching the first five innings and thought you had an easy
00:40 first five inning victory on the Houston Astros think again with an unbelievable
00:45 collapse in the fifth inning there also as I was talking about the New York
00:48 Yankees crazy times all across the landscape but we are gonna focus on game
00:52 number seven in the NHL last night it's nice get basketball back in our lives in
00:56 the NBA tonight we'll see how the Eastern Conference finals gets underway
00:59 and away we go B double s so Donnie you know that you and I a couple of puck
01:05 talk guys you gave out a Stanley Cup playoff best bet to end out this show we
01:10 live and we die with the Stanley Cup postseason however I cannot truly fathom
01:15 what it would be like if I had a full allegiance to an NHL team was a lifelong
01:21 fan of an NHL team in a Stanley Cup playoff game let alone a game 7 where it
01:27 came down to the final five minutes Edmonton goes on the road to Vancouver
01:34 and the Oilers knock off the Canucks in game 7 something about those road teams
01:38 the last 48 hours of postseason action winning a crucial winner take all game
01:44 7 the Oilers victorious 3 to 2 but that's not the entire story in a series
01:49 that was predicted to be very easy for Edmonton that was anything but six of
01:54 the seven games decided by just a single goal and last night DRS that was put on
02:00 full display the Oilers score all three of their goals in the second period
02:04 quieting the crowd inside Rogers Arena in Vancouver for the Canucks to score
02:11 twice in the final nine minutes of regulation and a wild frenzy at the end
02:16 where if your heart rate was not just spiking off the charts I don't know how
02:22 to describe it ultimately the Oilers are victorious in a game 7 on the road
02:26 booked as a -164 moneyline favorite with that 3-2 win. The Oil Derricks were
02:33 flying and blasting off last night in Edmonton Alberta as you watch the fans
02:38 back in their home arena celebrating inside and outside of that arena on an
02:42 exciting game and also by the way it probably 3-0 Oilers at the end
02:45 of the second period it probably could have been 5 or 6 to nothing but
02:48 Vancouver's goalie was absolutely sensational early to keep it somewhat
02:51 close but as we know just like in the NBA 20-point leads 25-point leads it
02:55 always gets close at the end and it certainly was that a 3-2 victory a
02:58 hard-fought series by the Edmonton Oilers but the favorites pulled through
03:03 -160 -165 at game time look like it was gonna be a walk to victory there but a
03:07 3-2 win nonetheless Edmonton moves on. Total of five and a half stays under the
03:13 Oilers favored in every single game they advance with a victory in game 7 to the
03:18 Western Conference Finals where the Dallas Stars await the NHL's Final Four
03:23 is now set out west it's Dallas versus Edmonton for a spot in the Cup Final in
03:28 the Eastern Conference the Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers get
03:31 underway in the Eastern Conference Finals tomorrow night inside Madison
03:36 Square Garden for game number one now Major League Baseball elsewhere in New
03:40 York up in the Bronx the Yankees entered the Monday slate as the hottest team in
03:44 the bigs winners of seven in a row seemingly going to cruise to an
03:49 eighth-straight victory until the ninth inning happened. Clay Holmes has been the
03:53 best closer without a shadow of a doubt in Major League Baseball all year for
03:58 New York he had not allowed a single run a single earned run entering yesterday
04:04 but the Mariners plate four against Clay Holmes who blows his first save of the
04:09 year suffers his first loss of the year as the Mariners come all the way back to
04:14 knock off the New York Yankees with a 5-4 victory inside Yankee Stadium. You
04:20 never know when you're gonna need those extra runs here now granted the Yankees
04:23 still should have won that game up multiple runs in the ninth inning with
04:25 their closer on the mound but I get back to a guy that really let me down last
04:29 night and certainly the Yankees as well Giancarlo Stanton went one for four so
04:33 he did have a base hit came up twice last night one with bases loaded one out
04:36 one with first and third one out two down to double play ground balls here to
04:41 end innings you pick up a single you pick up an extra RBI there maybe the
04:45 Yankees win that game and your boy DRS can cash in on a round Robin but neither
04:49 one of those happened last night that's a nice win for the Mariners in a game
04:52 that looked like it was just about over by the time the ninth started. Yeah it
04:57 certainly looked like that an uncharacteristic outing out of Clay
05:00 Holmes again snaps that New York win streak at just seven games but still the
05:06 most wins in all of the American League with 33 for the Pinstripes elsewhere in
05:11 the American League East divisional duel at the Trop and Rafi Rafael Devers is
05:16 having himself a historic week a home run in six consecutive games for Boston
05:22 that a franchise record in the long-standing franchise history of this
05:27 Boston organization as the Red Sox go in at Tampa plank the Rays and win 5-0
05:33 a great start from Tanner Halk on the other side for Boston talked about that
05:37 yesterday Halk's been absolutely tremendous I thought this game would
05:39 stay under and it did 5-0 finally five total runs
05:43 Taj Bradley an interesting line here seven innings pitched six hits and five
05:47 earned runs but ten strikeouts and no walks imagine if I told you Ben a
05:52 pitcher went seven innings six hits 10 K's no walks you would have thought they
05:56 won the game five to nothing but they didn't here so maybe some good things on
05:59 the horizon for Taj Bradley but at the same time Tanner Halk four and five man
06:03 that should be nine to know what the way he's pitching what a game it was last
06:08 night in Indianapolis a rematch of the season opener between the Sun and the
06:13 fever it was back and forth there were fourth quarter magic building in the
06:18 building for Kaitlyn Clark and Indiana ultimately at the end Aaliyah Boston
06:23 last year's number one overall pick had a great look at the cup could not
06:28 convert as Connecticut holds off Indiana to win 88-84 but the fever starting to
06:34 find their footing their second consecutive cover despite an 0-4
06:38 start to this season yeah they'll get there they'll eventually get there got
06:42 some good players on the team and also the fan blue sportsbook with a great
06:44 odds boost yesterday you take a look at a double-double that we needed out of
06:47 Thomas got 24 and 14 in that game then you need a 3-3 point shots made from
06:52 Kaitlyn Clark what did she do three of seven cash in that ticket so profitable
06:55 night overall if you're betting anything that had to do with the fever last night
06:59 Alyssa Thomas to wanna Bonner and the entirety of the Connecticut Sun off to a
07:04 3-0 perfect start all NBA rookie teams announced yesterday and on that first
07:10 team Victor women Yama Chet Holmgren highlight the list Jaime Hawkins gets in
07:15 there Brandon Miller the second overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets in Brandon
07:19 Podjemski from the Golden State Warriors round out the first team fantastic I
07:24 guess that's what I can say about it Ben fantastic I really thought that would
07:29 probably be your entire response anyway fantastic quoted in headlines from
07:34 Donnie right side yesterday at OTAs in Duval County the Jacksonville Jaguars
07:40 back on the field Trevor Lawrence connecting with their first ground pick
07:44 in Brian Thomas jr. that was part of the practice video I saw and then after
07:48 practice Doug Peterson the head coach of Jacksonville saying he is hopeful that
07:52 his organization and his young quarterback Trevor Lawrence can agree to
07:56 a long-term contract extension entering Lawrence's fourth year in the NFL
08:00 general managers out there if you have a good player that you think is going to
08:04 be a franchise guy sign him sooner than later because nobody's ever waited Ben
08:08 and actually made the correct decision because it always cost you more money in
08:12 the end get the deal done here save yourself millions stop delaying
08:16 Jacksonville absolutely so it might be a record-setting deal could it surpass Joe
08:22 Burroughs highest ever quarterback contract at 55 million maybe Jared Goff
08:27 is now making 53 mil a year but still with inflation at the quarterback
08:32 position it's not bad to get paid early Devante Parker longtime NFL veteran wide
08:38 receiver after nine years in the National Football League announces his
08:42 retirement yesterday anything else to say DRS except fantastic yep swole Batman
08:48 and skinny Batman's aired that man away we don't need you Devante we don't need
08:52 you okay I appreciate that more on the early line next
08:58 (upbeat music)
