00:00You know, maybe not the best roommate.
00:02If you take in a new roommate, they're talking right away about burning the place down.
00:10Let's talk about Rolando Perez Nunez.
00:13Let's.
00:13He was charged with first-degree arson.
00:15Why?
00:16Why?
00:17He set his roommate's mattress on fire.
00:23This bed is on fire!
00:30Wow, what a nice note.
00:32This bed is on fire!
00:34Yeah, Rolando Perez Nunez.
00:35It's Rolando.
00:37Yeah, this happened down in Naples.
00:38You don't know this guy, Roxanne.
00:39This guy was arrested on Tuesday.
00:41Set his roommate's room and bed on fire and then fled.
00:46Was it like a, hey man, get out of bed!
00:48If you set your roommate's room and bed on fire, doesn't that have the quick possibility of, like, igniting everything that you have as well, like, in the room next door?
01:00I think.
01:00Yeah.
01:01Instantly a bad idea.
01:02You're living dangerously, that's for sure.
01:04Caldea County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested this Rolando Perez Nunez, 22 years old, charges of first-degree arson.
01:12Deputies responded to a call of a residential fire on Cocoa Avenue.
01:16Ought to be, ought to be Cuckoo Avenue.
01:19No.
01:20It's Hot Cocoa Avenue.
01:22There you go.
01:23S'mores.
01:23The 911 caller states that Perez Nunez was running from the house after starting a fire in one of the bedrooms.
01:30They arrested him soon after.
01:32Two residents were in the home when the fire was started.
01:34Investigators met with four of the five residents, learned that for the past four days, multiple altercations taken place in the home between Nunez and his arsonist victim.
01:43A victim, the altercations began when Perez Nunez moved into the home weeks ago, and during those incidents, he made repeated comments about burning the home down.
01:53Jeez.
01:53You know, maybe not the best roommate.
01:55If you take in a new roommate, they're talking right away about burning the place down.
02:00You picked the wrong guy.
02:02My God.
02:03They found out that the investigation showed that the fire was intentionally set on the mattress in the roommate's room,
02:13and detectives reported that evidence indicated oil may have been used in the attempt to accelerate the fire.
02:20Yes, I always think of oil as my accelerant of choice.
02:24My God.
02:24That's why we call it morons in the news, folks.
02:27But that might be a red flag if you take in a new roommate and they immediately start talking about burning the house down.
02:33Yeah.
02:34Bad move.
02:35Burning down the house, right?
02:37It's our first day as a roommate.
02:39Tell me a little bit about yourself.
02:40I want to burn this place to the ground.
02:42Oh, okay.
02:43This place looks like it'll go up real easy.
02:46What are those curtains made out of?
02:48What kind of mattress do you have?
02:50Oh, man.
02:52There's no shortage, folks.
02:53That's why every flippin' day we can do morons for like 15 minutes.
