00:00Jeff and Amy in the morning with the one and only Maren Morris. Maren, hi, how are you?
00:05I'm good. It's good to be back in Vegas. It's been a few years. So yeah, it's nice.
00:10When did you get in town?
00:11We got in last night.
00:12Okay. Anything fun yet? Or are you waiting till Monday? Or what are your plans? A lot
00:18of rehearsal, I'm sure.
00:19We just came from rehearsals, so that went well. So we can check that off the list of
00:23stress. And no, it's going to be really fun. The stadium is ginormous and our stage is
00:30like the highest possible point of the venue. So we're playing the nosebleeds, but it's beautiful.
00:38And then, yeah, tomorrow we kind of have a day to ourselves. So I think we're going to
00:41just go to the spa and relax and try to hydrate in the desert.
00:46Yeah. I got to say, it's been so much nicer in Vegas. It's been like 75, 80 for the past
00:50two weeks. Right. And then this weekend it's a little chilly, but that's okay. I mean, it's
00:54still a little bit warmer than Nashville, I'm sure.
00:56I mean, it was nice this week. We've had some crazy weather in Nashville the last few. So
01:02I feel like spring is finally here, which is nice. But no, I kind of like the chilly
01:07dry air, so I can get down.
01:09Well, here we are.
01:10Erin, how do you deal with a work-life balance? Because I think I'm busy and then I see
01:14you creating music, high women in, you're doing all this stuff. How do you balance that along
01:19with, you know, being a mom and a wife? Right. I mean, come on.
01:24I have help. I mean, Ryan and I really, we're so lucky because his family lives in Nashville.
01:30So we have kind of a support system around us. And, you know, we both have crazy jobs,
01:37but I feel like our son is already, he's about to be two this month. He's very adaptable. He's
01:43already spent a couple weekends out with us on the bus. So, you know, he's like forming
01:47to our life and not the other way around because it's like, he's going to have to get used to being
01:51a tour bus baby. But I don't know. I mean, I have people that help me a lot, like with just being
01:59able to balance everything. But yeah, sometimes this, I don't know, I think COVID gave me such
02:05a sense of like being able to connect to my son and not have to tour. And now it's like,
02:11we're ready to go back to work. But he'll just come along with us.
02:14Yeah. It's see when I love when you stick up for being a mom, like I'm a mom, this is my baby.
02:20Nobody's raising my baby, but me and Ryan. See, just being on the radio, I've had a little
02:24glimpse of mom shaming. How do you deal with that on such a huge level and do it like with
02:30such class, but also such savageness? We love when you will say one thing on the radio
02:38about being a mom. And then it's like, you're the worst. Yeah. Well, F them. I don't know. I think
02:47until you become a mother, I think anyone passing off judgment is feeling very insecure in their own
02:54motherhood. So they feel like that's how they get their power back is to like shame you or
02:58criticize something that you've done. And I just have learned to let it roll off my back because
03:03they, it's not their kid. It's mine. So yeah, I feel like we're like, no one loves that child
03:11the most as you. So yeah. So I feel like everyone can pass judgment, but honestly, it's coming from
03:17a place of like them not feeling totally secure in what they're doing. So I just like, don't even
03:22listen to it anymore. So you just do you, you love your baby. Yeah. That's all that, that's all that
03:27matters. Amen. Well, you're killing it in all aspects. Marin, I got to ask because you
03:31know, it comes with the territory. Sometimes we ask you about Ryan. We ask Ryan about you,
03:35but we are obsessed, obsessed with Pelago. Dude, I'm telling you, we're not just saying
03:41that we're not just pulling it like track for track. Yeah. It's on the speaker in a healthy
03:45way. No, probably not. No skips. What is your, and you can't skip one. Yeah. Because
03:50it tells a story, you know, albums don't do that as much anymore. What's your favorite
03:55track on the album? You got a deep cut one you love and we'll take out the one that you're
03:58in. Sure. Conflict of interest. Right, right. What would you say? The one that I, I just
04:05always get choked up on, it's just such a beautiful song is Palm Trees in Ohio. Stop
04:08it. Is that your favorite? That's just all my favorite. I was going to have us all say
04:11our favorite at the same time, but the audio would be too much. Palm Trees in Ohio. It's
04:15so well written and I just, it's such a Nashville songwriting song to me, but it's also a love
04:22song and I just can get down with that all day. Yeah. It's a, I mean, we are really, we
04:27listen to it working out on our way to work on our way home. I skip Dateline sometimes
04:31to listen to us though. Well, he'll be very flattered to hear all of this. Yeah. Maren
04:36Morris, everybody. Thank you for joining us. 57th annual ACMs. Good luck performing
04:41and the awards. Thank you for joining us. Thanks.
