11:59It's hard to defend the performance.
12:01And obviously I'm a huge part of that.
12:04So I don't want to be skulking about.
12:06And watching my team.
12:07And not sure what I'm getting from them.
12:09And I don't want to have that lack of trust in them at times.
12:12And fear that we're not doing the right things.
12:15More often than not.
12:15I thought today was the flip side of that.
12:18And it had to be.
12:19You know.
12:21So it's all searching.
12:22Yeah.
12:22I think being in and around each other.
12:23For the last few days has helped.
12:27Because it's been a tough few days.
12:28But we've had a lot of good meetings.
12:30A lot of individual conversations.
12:32But ultimately players still need to get themselves in a good headspace for this one.
12:35And I thought we were ready to go today.
12:37Which pleases me no end.
12:40And the goal just took a bit long in coming.
12:42Special mention to Laurence.
12:44Because that's not easy.
12:45Standing there in front of Aberdeen end.
12:48Having to wait so long to take it.
12:50Such a huge moment.
12:51A lot of pressure on him.
12:53But part of the reason why we bring him here.
12:56Is for those moments as well.
12:57And he stuck it away brilliantly.
12:59And it was no more than we deserved.
13:00And I'm just glad that the fans had the flip side to what they had to face on Thursday.
13:04Then real disappointment, anger, frustration.
13:07I think it was the opposite today.
13:09Proud of the players in terms of their butling.
13:10They never give up.
13:11They kept going.
13:12They showed good quality in the second half.
13:14I think we were getting better in terms of control of the game in the first half.
13:18And taking the game to the opposition.
13:19The expectation was on Aberdeen to go and take the game.
13:22And I didn't think we'd done that well enough.
13:23But they responded to that.
13:25And as I say, the key moments that could have changed the game.
13:28And the decision making, you know, who decides how much force, how far decides there's enough force in that one
13:34or not enough force in that one.
13:36I'm not so sure.
13:37But it wins against us today.
13:39You can feel sorry for yourself or you can look at the things you control.
13:43Rangers under such a huge cloud of doom and gloom going into this match.

13:51And why was it so much better from Rangers today?
13:56Well, I think going to put Audrey first and foremost for a Rangers team is difficult at the best of
14:00the time.
14:01It's never mind after a huge disappointment on Thursday night.
14:04But what allowed them to go into the game for me was just having an energy and a willingness to
14:08go and compete.
14:09Getting on the second ball.
14:10And that allowed Rangers to really grow into the game.
14:12And at least look like they were trying to go and create chances.
14:15And at the same time when questions were asked to them, I thought they defended well.
14:17McKenna especially.
14:19Does this take all the pressure off, Derek McInnes, for you, Richard?
14:22I mean, obviously the goal would come from the penalty spot.
14:25JD Gassama felled in the box.
14:28No, it doesn't take the pressure off.
14:29There's always pressure at Rangers every single game.
14:33You know, Rangers work out really well getting the wide game.
14:35It's an OK ball in.
14:37Lewis May will be disappointed with his clearance.
14:40And then it's a clear penalty.
14:41It's a stupid decision.
14:42But I think, you know, Scott spoke about it there.
14:45Rangers were just better in most aspects of the game from Thursday night.
14:50But, you know, Aberdeen tried to smother them.
14:53They tried to shut off the middle of the pitch.
14:54And they tried to call the high, aggressive defensive line.
14:57But Rangers having players who are willing to run in behind.
15:00Shanklin was doing it.
15:01Gassama was doing it.
15:03We'll see Kim later on in the pack.
15:05He was doing it.
15:06That then changes Aberdeen's approach.
15:08Gives Rangers more space.
15:09And then Derek's absolutely right.
15:11Against your former team, when things have not been going great,
15:14you've had a little bit of a wait for the penalty.
15:17Fantastic composure for Lawrence Shanklin.
15:19And that's exactly why he's at the pub.
15:21Big penalty from the Rangers' captain today at Pataudry.
15:25Scott Allen, in terms of Aberdeen,
15:28Kevin Nisbet would obviously have his opportunities.
15:30Let's have a look at them just now.
15:31This first one,
15:34he wasn't happy about it, obviously.
15:36He thought he should have got something for it.
15:38What was your thoughts on it?
15:41Listen, I think you obviously see the ball into the box.
15:44A fantastic delivery.
15:45For me, initially, I didn't think it was a foul.
15:47I just want to see Kevin Nisbet with real aggression,
15:50trying to go on the end of the cross.
15:52I think he actually looks as if he wants to initiate the contact.
15:55And as soon as he feels the slightest from Dujan to Ellen,
15:58he's going down and looking for the penalty.
15:59So for me, it would have been very, very soft.
16:01But I think as a striker, you've got to have that instinct
16:03where you just want to attack the ball, first and foremost.
16:06Frustrating day in the end for Aberdeen,
16:07and for Nisbet in particular, Richard.
16:09But two reasons why it shouldn't have seen.
16:13In terms of the offside, obviously, offside's offside.
16:16In terms of the push, your take on that?
16:19Yeah, I think when you go too hard, that straight arm,
16:22we can't tell how much force there is on the player.
16:25There looks like there's enough there for a free kick.
16:28I mean, if he goes with a forearm and leans into him,
16:30it's not a foul, but it's too obvious.
16:32It's too obvious a push in his back.
16:35And then that whole thing becomes moot anyway because he's offside.
16:38So you see, you know, and you actually see the referee,
16:41Matthew McDermott, he actually tells him, he says two things.
16:43First, let's a push.
16:44And if it's not a push, it's offside.
16:46So despite his frustration, that goal was never going to stand.
16:49In terms of Aberdeen overall, Scott, obviously,
16:52an agonising moment there for them.
16:54What did you make of their approach and the way they played this match?
16:58It was a battle of a match overall, wasn't it?
17:00Yeah, yeah.
17:01Like I said, I think when it's an Aberdeen Rangers game,
17:04it's going to be come down to duels in the middle of the park
17:06and then when chances present themselves to you,
17:08can you take them?
17:09For me, I just don't think there was enough imagination
17:11in that Aberdeen side.
17:12I think when you see the introduction of Armstrong at halftime,
17:14you feel, is he going to be the guy?
17:16Put some lovely balls into the box,
17:17but with that little bit of finesse,
17:19a bit of care in the final further,
17:20I just don't feel that Aberdeen had it.
17:22Speaking of finesse,
17:23Kim Min-Sue, he's arrived for reported
17:25eight and a half million pounds from Girona for Rangers.
17:2720 years of age.
17:29He showed up well, didn't he?
17:30Yeah, and especially at a difficult venue,
17:32I think he would have been a player today.
17:34Rangers fans leaving Petrode
17:35and Rangers fans watching in their homes,
17:38they'd be really excited about his level of ability.
17:41I think he showed a lot of variety in his play.
17:42I think you see here the strength that he has.
17:44He's looking to get his shot away on his left foot,
17:46which looks like he's going to have a bit of quality in that.
17:50I think you see a lot of different sides to his game.
17:52As I said, he's got a bit of awareness
17:54trying to switch your play, which you needed.
17:56And Rangers need that sort of focal point,
17:58a guy that's going to take the game by the scruff of the neck.
18:00Demand the ball in tight areas and look to go and create.
18:03And although he didn't come away with a goal,
18:05he just got himself into some really good areas.
18:08And as I said, he's not had much time with the squad.
18:09You see here, you have the ball looking to go on the end of things,
18:12get on the end of his pass.
18:13He's not willing to just stand and watch his ball.
18:15And I just think he's a real bright Spartan.
18:17Going forward, if Rangers can get him surrounded by some even more quality,
18:21which I think Rangers are going to bring in,
18:22then I think he could be a real starter.
18:24I know it's early days.
18:24This one here, I think he'll be maybe a little bit disappointed.
18:27He can't come in and he's right through it
18:29and look to get the shot away quicker.
18:30But it was a very good block in the end by Aremu.
18:33Yeah, I mean, he's 20 years of age, Richard.
18:34He seemed to play with a real bit of maturity.
18:37In terms of him and Rangers overall,
18:39next on Wednesday night, they go away to Falkirk,
18:42Aberdeen up against Celtic.
18:44But in terms of that Rangers match, away at Falkirk,
18:47I mean, do Rangers fans, should they be hopeful
18:50or still have a bit of trepidation?
18:51No, I think they should, Rangers will go to these places
18:55and they should always have a level of confidence.
18:57You know, despite them maybe not being at the level
18:59that we all feel that they should be,
19:02they're still, you know, they've still got a huge budget
19:04in comparison to the rest of the league.
19:05So they'll be going to any of these teams,
19:07expect them to win the game,
19:09expect to build on that performance.
19:11But I think we spoke about before, what was the difference?
19:13Sometimes it's that.
19:14One player, new player, level of excitement around them
19:18and he actually produces, he brings, you know,
19:20a real willingness to run about
19:21and create things for his teammates
19:23and sometimes that's all you need within the squad.
19:25They need to build on that, of course they do.
19:27They need to add more quality
19:28and I'm sure they will get better as the season goes on.
19:31As Derek rightly pointed out in this after-match press,
19:34they're three games in.
19:35You know, let's not panic.
19:37The foundations, though, are built
19:39in just that willingness to compete in energy
19:41and we've certainly seen that today
19:42and that allowed Rangers to grow into the game.

48:24And I think the great thing for the Dundee players is Stephen Presley isn't overly emotional.

48:39They maybe thought Hibbs were going to come up and feel sorry for themselves.

56:58But what they've served up over recent weeks has been fantastic.
57:01And I think that makes Thursday night at Easter Road a really interesting tie.

57:06Richard, a couple of weeks ago, Neil McCann was a bit upset with me when I talked about how his
57:10side were conceding goals.
57:12I'm sure he's a lot more upset about the fact that his side conceded four.
57:16I'm also upset with you because I'm clearly not as magnanimous as Scott.
57:21No, yes, I mean, I think they've scored, conceded 13 goals in three games.
57:25He'll know himself it's not good enough.
57:26I mean, the first two goals, set play goals, you know, the corner, they're very static.
57:33The second one's a silly challenge in the box, but it leads to the penalty.
57:37You know, the third goal is absolutely incredible.
57:39There are so many things you could do before it, but you've got to appreciate it's a fantastic goal.
57:43But yeah, they look quite open at the moment, especially when they lose possession and they're not really defending their
57:50box that well.
57:51And that's not a good combination for success in the league.
57:55So they'll need to address the fact that they're conceding a lot of goals.
57:58I do think they've got enough in the team to go and score.
58:00I know we've not seen that a lot.
58:02I think there's only four goals scored, but I do think they've got enough to be OK if they sort
58:06out this defensive side of the game.

58:11I mean, what a tonic that Will Ferry goal would have been for him as well.
58:14With his right foot, Scott, I mean, it has to be up there.

58:36Yeah, I think he makes the initial mistake, but the ball comes out of his hands.
58:40And then I think he just panics.
58:42I think, you know, he could probably just bat the ball away, out for a throw-in, but he panics
58:46and tries to catch on to it.
58:48It just dribbles out of his hands, and it's an easy finish for Duran.
