00:00I'm Andrew Bate, co-founder of Swarm Farm Robotics, and I'm also a farmer from Central Queensland.
00:05I grew up on a family farm, and we grow cereal crops, and we run beef cattle at Bendy near
00:10Guindy.
00:10Now, I'm joined here with Chewbacca, robot number 290, and robot 300's in the shed behind me,
00:16all due to go out to Australian farmers in the coming weeks.
00:19People think about driverless technology and autonomy, and think about labour-saving devices
00:24and automation of what we're already doing in agriculture, but that's not why we started Swarm Farm Robotics.
00:30We actually started the company because we wanted to be better farmers,
00:33and we wanted to bring new agronomy and new farming practices into agriculture.
00:38Our robots are super lightweight, they're simple, they're designed for right to repair first,
00:43and they're loaded with technology that changes the agronomy around how we farm.
00:48Our customers are saving massive amounts on the amount of fertiliser, chemical that they use,
00:53and actually really changing the farming system in how they produce their crops.
00:58We now have one of the biggest fleets of agricultural robots in the world,
01:02and every month we do over a million acres of farmland here in Australia.
01:06I'm honoured to be nominated for the Westpac Innovation and Agricultural Award.
01:10One of the values of Swarm Farm is seeing our regional communities grow, prosper,
01:14and creating opportunities for the next generation of farmers coming into agriculture,
01:19and the people and the families who live out in regional Australia.
