00:00Well, it seems to me we're well on our way to a repeat of what we saw in the Icelandic
00:05EU referendum in Sweden,
00:06which is you saw pretty much all the way through the yes side on the Iceland EU referendum
00:15to begin talks with the European Union again about potentially joining in the future.
00:20You saw the yes side sort of leading through that campaign and then they kind of drew level.
00:25And then the last few days, the no side just gained that lead.
00:30And in the end, you did see the no side win that EU referendum in Iceland.
00:35Now, when it comes to Sweden, and of course, any of you in Sweden particularly keen to hear from you,
00:41we've seen a Swedish government, a right wing government who basically, it seems to me,
00:47have pretty much got on top of that exploding gang crime, gang violence you were seeing,
00:53bombing, shootings, all the rest of it, you're seeing clearly reductions in those violent incidents.
01:00And things had got so bad that the lefty former Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson
01:06had even suggested sending the army in at one stage.
01:09Now, she could become the next Prime Minister again.
01:13In fact, a lot of the polls throughout the Swedish campaign did actually have the opposition,
01:19the left-wing opposition in Sweden ahead.
01:23At one point there, a 10-point lead.
01:25And this is for an election on the 13th of September, by the way, so not too far away.
01:29And you could see one of the quotes there, that only a miracle could now prevent defeat
01:34for Ulf Christensen, the Conservative Prime Minister, and his right-wing coalition.
01:39Well, it seems that a miracle in Sweden could potentially be on the way now,
01:43because you have seen the Swedish opposition lead in the polls absolutely collapse in recent days.
01:52It's gone down pretty dramatically from that more than 10-point lead.
01:56And you can see here in the latest polling, the opposition are on 50.3%,
02:03the coalition government on a combined 47.7%.
02:07So, that's a 2.6-point lead.
02:11It has absolutely collapsed pretty quickly there from around 10 points to now less than 3 points.
02:21And you can see there in terms of the individual parties,
02:25the Sweden Democrats actually now gaining,
02:29and the Social Democrats, they're down 4 in the latest polling.
02:33So, clearly, this is getting tighter and tighter as the election approaches.
02:39Who knows?
02:40As you saw in Iceland, could we see the same in Sweden now,
