01:43going to get two very different sounds if we're talking about this team chasing the division they are
01:49still the favorites and I think you and I still view them in that light if we are talking about
01:54the type if we talk about the Lions with the Super Bowl off the table you're going to find it

01:58much more positive listen they're going to be in the fight they're right there they're the favorites to
02:02win the division but that would mean we're taking the Super Bowl off the table do you want that or

02:09you want us to still hold them to that standard of hey once they beat the LA Rams in that

02:13playoff victory at Ford Field and then followed it up with another win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
02:18stacked playoff wins plural the whole world changed they ushered themselves into the conversation they
02:25were half away from going to the Super Bowl that this team should be viewed through the eyes of are
02:30they good enough to win it all or not now that radio is going to sound more negative at times

02:35well look at their issues so as a Lions fan do you prefer to focus on the division or do

02:41want us holding them to a Super Bowl standard those are your two options two four eight five

02:52off the table certainly this team's going to be in the mix for the division right that becomes a more

03:07division come Monday morning right yes I think the Super Bowl standard was something that was set two
03:17years ago we have seen a vast difference in this team over the last two years last year it was

03:23offensive line that they didn't address and there were some issues defensively that have still yet to
03:28be fixed they address the offensive line issues but not anything to any measure defensively so I think
03:35you have to look at this and this is how I look at it what is the standard for this
03:40year now okay
03:41the standard should always be Super Bowl and you can put that kind of on the shelf for right now
03:46because until this coaching staff either comes up with the magic elixir of whatever they're going to
03:54call defensively to cover up their deficiencies or you get superhuman performances by the front seven
04:03I don't think you can realistically talk about the Super Bowl it but I also don't think it's outer reach
04:09because Brad Holmes does have options like he can go out and trade for better players now you obviously
04:19have to have somebody that's willing to trade with you but you've got to convince them that what you're
04:24offering them they can't pass up right or you're waiting for certain teams to be so bad that they
04:32are going to empty the tank and try and accumulate draft picks but I'm hearing like a conflict even in
04:38you where you're like well I don't want to say we can't win the Super Bowl but at the same
04:41time
04:42dot dot dot you know what I mean so I guess I would like to just clear rules of engagement

04:49listeners are you guys still talking about and holding this team to a Super Bowl standard do you want that
04:54to be the way we talk about the Lions over the course of the next three months keep in mind

04:58going to be holding to a high standard and with this secondary there's going to be some performances
05:01where even if they win and it doesn't look good we're going to raise red flags but with your
05:07permission if you'd like to just take Super Bowl talk off the table we could say this team's not in
05:12the conversation they don't belong in the conversation they're not good enough and I'm not going to weigh
05:16down your your your drive into work every day burdening you and them with a standard that they
05:21haven't upheld would you rather the radio show reflect that this team is not chasing a championship
05:27and is instead simply trying to get back to the division crown that they had two of the previous
