03:49And again, I will get to those questions
03:50Or comments in a future episode
03:52Tonight
03:52I am Dr. Fro
03:54I appreciate you joining us
03:55This is a cool week
03:57We have AEW Dynamite Paris
04:00The Grand Slam show from Paris
04:02Taking place on a night
04:04When typically I would be looking at NXT
04:05But if I'm being honest
04:07I felt like the card
04:09For Grand Slam Paris
04:10Was just markedly better
04:12Than what I was expecting to see from NXT
04:15So I tuned in to Grand Slam
04:17And the show did not disappoint
04:18Now look, I'll be honest with you
04:20I don't think any shockers came out of the show
04:22Except maybe one
04:22And we'll get to that right away
04:24But beyond that
04:26This was a pretty par for the course show
04:28Solid in-ring action
04:30Great, great pairings of talent
04:32You know, further some storylines
04:35Creates possibly some new ones
04:36We'll talk about that
04:37As we go through the show
04:38I hope you enjoyed the show
04:40If you didn't get a chance to see it
04:41Check it out
04:41I love how they
04:43It's almost like old school WCW
04:44They do these replays
04:45So if you're watching
04:47And you go on to TNT
04:49And the show is over
04:50It restarts right after
04:52I sometimes don't get to see it live
04:54And if that's the case
04:55When I hit the gym
04:55I'm one of those late night gym rats
04:57I'll go to the gym
04:59You know, get there at like 11 o'clock
05:00And watch the show
05:02I think it's actually 10 to midnight
05:05But whatever
05:05I'll watch it there
05:06So if you haven't seen it
05:08Check it out
05:09But let's go through
05:09Some of the reactions
05:10And analysis of this show
05:12The match between Bandito and Kofi
05:15For the Ring of Honor World Championship
05:17I'll be honest with you
05:19I didn't really think through
05:21Some of these things
05:22Heading into the show
05:23That maybe I should have
05:24And I actually feel ashamed about that
05:25Because normally I would have
05:26Going into this
05:28I saw the match on paper
05:29And somehow in my infinite genius
05:31Did not connect the dots
05:32And I thought
05:33Wow, Kofi Kingston's going to be
05:35The Ring of Honor World Champion
05:36They're going to recreate Kofi Mania
05:38With the Ring of Honor title
05:40Frankly, I'd be okay with that
05:42I love Bandito
05:43I think he's absolutely phenomenal
05:45But at some point
05:46The title's got to change hands
05:48Especially since we've seen him
05:49Take some losses and whatnot
05:50On Dynamite and whatnot
05:52So I'd be okay with Kofi
05:54Walking out with that championship
05:54So heading in
05:55That's kind of what I thought
05:56But that is not the case
05:57While they're wrestling
05:58Both members teams
06:00So you have
06:01Xavier Woods
06:03Or Austin Creed
06:04That's going to take forever
06:05To me to get used to
06:06Austin Creed's on the outside
06:07He's kind of getting into it
06:09With Brody King
06:10Swerve Strickland
06:11And Hangman Page
06:12Are kind of going at it
06:13And that's creating a distraction
06:15For Kofi
06:16Which leads to the 21 Plex
06:17Off the distraction
06:18For Bandito
06:19To pick up the win
06:21And retention
06:21Of the Ring of Honor Championship
06:22The first pinfall loss
06:24In AEW
06:25For Kofi
06:26Kind of surprised
06:27But I'm kind of glad too
06:28Kind of gets it out of the way
06:30So it's not so shocking
06:31The next time you want to do that
06:33And people don't act like
06:34These guys signed to come in
06:35And never lose anything
06:36We get a backstage segment
06:38With Renee Paquette
06:38Talking to Will Ospreay
06:40And Mike Bailey
06:40Mike Bailey recently joined
06:42The new
06:43I don't know how to say this
06:45The United Empire
06:46In AEW
06:47Let's go that way
06:48Of explaining it
06:49And despite that
06:50Mike Bailey
06:52On collision
06:52Is going to be trying to
06:54Qualify for the
06:55Clockwork Orange match
06:57And he made it very clear
06:59To Will Ospreay
06:59Should he win that
07:00Should he qualify
07:01He's coming
07:02For Will Ospreay's championship
07:04Despite the fact
07:04That they're on the same team
07:05And Will said
07:06That's what it's all about
07:07That's exactly what
07:08Will Ospreay wants
07:09From his championship reign
07:10He doesn't want to run
07:11And duck and hide
07:12From anybody
07:13He wants it to be
07:13An incredible
07:15Incredible reign
07:16There was a report out
07:16Yesterday talking about
07:17How he wants to bring
07:18Like old school
07:19Wrestling traditions
07:21Back to the championship
07:22And I love that
07:23And I think his matches
07:25Will all be very meaningful
07:26And I thought this was
07:26A really good backstage segment
07:27And I gotta point this out too
07:29Before I get too deep in this
07:30The number of backstage
07:32And speaking segments
07:33Was so minimal
07:34In compared to
07:36Monday Night Raw
07:37This week
07:38Where there was 13
07:39Unless you count Oba's
07:40Then 14 speaking moments
07:42To 5 matches
07:43This had the same number
07:44Of matches
07:45Without all the speaking
07:46Instead we got
07:46In-ring action
07:47Which is for me
07:48Tonight was a night
07:49I really wanted to tune in
07:50For in-ring work
07:51That being said
07:52The next match
07:52We get Samoa Joe
07:53Taking on Jack Perry
07:55And they are both
07:56Trying to qualify
07:57For Clockwork Orange
07:58Now Jack Perry
07:59Wanted this match
08:00He was basically
08:01Calling out Joe
08:01For quite a while
08:02Joe came out
08:03At All Out
08:04At the
08:06Zero Hour show
08:07And ended up
08:08Laying Jack Perry
08:09Out with a headbutt
08:10When Perry tried
08:10To get him
08:10To shake his hand
08:11And this match
08:12Look
08:13For all that Jack Perry
08:15Was trying to show
08:16Respect to Joe
08:17Earlier
08:18In this match
08:19When Joe gets him
08:20On the corner
08:20And sets him up
08:21For the muscle buster
08:22He spits in Joe's face
08:23Which is not going
08:24To end well
08:24And he ends up
08:25Eating the muscle buster
08:26And Samoa Joe
08:27Pins him
08:28Qualifying for
08:29Clockwork Orange
08:30Keep that in the
08:31Back of your mind
08:31Because now that
08:32Means that the only
08:32Two people we have
08:33Confirmed for
08:34Clockwork Orange
08:35Match so far
08:36Would be Will Ospreay
08:37And Samoa Joe
08:37And I don't know
08:38That I've ever seen
08:39The two of them
08:40Wrestle before
08:40But that's a
08:41Wildly entertaining
08:42Notion of the two
08:43Of them getting
08:44Into the ring
08:44The next match
08:45There is a stipulation
08:47That will come out
08:47Of this match
08:48We have Jon Moxley
08:49And Gabe Kidd
08:50Taking on Jake Doyle
08:51And Mark Davis
08:52This is a very
08:53Cool match
08:54There's a lot of
08:54Talent in the ring
08:55And I almost feel
08:56Bad for Gabe Kidd
08:57I feel like he gets
08:58Pigeon holed with
08:59The dogs so often
09:00Gabe Kidd is a
09:01Phenomenal talent
09:03I don't know
09:04That AEW truly
09:05Uses him to the
09:06Best of his ability
09:07Because he is
09:08Absolute money
09:09That being said
09:10In this match
09:11A lot of flurry
09:12Of stuff at the
09:13End of the match
09:13All four guys
09:14End up on the
09:15Outside of the ring
09:15And it leads to
09:17Gabe Kidd
09:17Ended up getting
09:18Into the ring
09:19Where Mark Davis
09:20When he goes
09:20Removed
09:20Davis reverses
09:21Into a gut
09:22Wrench
09:22Piledriver
09:23And he actually
09:24Pins Gabe Kidd
09:25Which also
09:25Picks up a loss
09:26For Jon Moxley
09:28Now what I found
09:28Wildly interesting
09:29Was if you look
09:30Closely at Gabe Kidd's
09:31Face
09:33He's got
09:34Disappointment
09:34He was trying
09:35To do his best
09:36For Mox
09:36But then you look
09:37At Mox's face
09:38Mox looks angry
09:40Very angry
09:41Because as I said
09:42Earlier the stipulation
09:43Coming out of this
09:44Now at WrestleDream
09:46Jon Moxley is going
09:47To defend the
09:48Continental Championship
09:48Against Jake Doyle
09:49And that's
09:50That's something
09:51I'm sure Moxley
09:52Wanted to avoid
09:53But it's a great
09:54Storyline
09:54I love it
09:55I love everything
09:55About it
09:56I would be
09:57Even more happy
09:58I can't believe
09:58I'm going to say
09:58This if Jake Doyle
09:59Won the championship
10:00I really would
10:00I get really
10:02Frustrated when we
10:02See so many
10:03Matches that are
10:04So blaringly
10:04Obvious who's
10:05Going to win
10:06Nobody would
10:06Expect Jake Doyle
10:07To beat Jon Moxley
10:08That's why if he
10:09Did it it would
10:10Mean so much
10:11More to his
10:11Career
10:11I don't think
10:12They'll do it
10:13I really don't
10:14But just me
10:15Fantasy booking here
10:15I think it would
10:16Be pretty interesting
10:17We get the next
10:18Match is Darby Allen
10:19Versus Kyle Fletcher
10:20For the TNT
10:21Championship
10:22And look
10:22Here's my issue
10:24Right
10:24The match is great
10:25I have no problem
10:26With it
10:26We got some blood
10:27It's fine
10:28The finish
10:29Sees two coffin
10:30Drops for Darby Allen
10:31To retain the
10:32Championship
10:32That's fine
10:33I suppose
10:34Here's my problem
10:35Kyle Fletcher
10:36May very well be
10:38The future of the
10:39Professional wrestling
10:40Business
10:40You had built him
10:41Up to such a level
10:43That people
10:43Legitimately thought
10:44He was a world
10:45Championship contender
10:46He could face off
10:47With Will Ospreay
10:48And legitimately
10:49Give him a run
10:49For his money
10:50He could face off
10:51Against anybody
10:52MJF
10:52John Moxley
10:53You name it
10:54And if he won
10:55In a given week
10:55You wouldn't have
10:56Been surprised
10:57Now
10:58You've put him
10:59Into a tag team
11:00With Kevin Knight
11:00They're the number
11:01One contenders
11:02Now I don't know
11:02If that was the
11:02Original plan
11:03After Steve Borden
11:04Got hurt
11:04With the
11:06The fall
11:07On the
11:08High spot
11:09At all out
11:09Maybe that was
11:10The original plan
11:11Maybe it wasn't
11:11I don't know
11:12The betting odds
11:12Actually said
11:13That they were
11:13Supposed to win
11:14So you know
11:15Maybe nothing
11:15Changed here
11:16But my point is
11:18Is that
11:18You've taken a guy
11:19Who is such a
11:20Main event level talent
11:21And he's been
11:21Reduced to losing
11:22A TNT championship
11:24Match to Darby Allen
11:25He's out of the
11:27World title picture
11:27Completely
11:28He's in a tag team
11:30Challenging for the
11:31Tag team championships
11:31Against the Young Bucks
11:33I just don't like it
11:35I don't love it
11:35I feel like you're
11:36Pushing Kyle Fletcher
11:37In much the same way
11:38That WWE has fumbled
11:40The Braun Breaker situation
11:41I feel like that's what
11:42AEW is doing
11:43To Kyle Fletcher
11:44Now look
11:44I get it
11:45Fletcher's young enough
11:46You can always
11:46Rebuild him
11:47And bring him back
11:47To being a world
11:48Champion later
11:49And I understand
11:50That maybe
11:51Tony Khan's trying
11:52Not to rush him
11:52To the world
11:53Championship yet
11:54Because Will just
11:55Got it
11:55I don't know
11:56I don't know
11:57I don't like it
11:58I think Kyle Fletcher
11:59Is such an organically
12:00Over talent
12:01People love him
12:03Whether he's
12:03Heel or face
12:04Is irrelevant
12:04The fans
12:05Absolutely love him
12:07So he's the kind
12:08Of guy I would like
12:08To see have
12:09You know
12:10A more prominent
12:11Singles role
12:12On the show
12:13With all the members
12:14Of the Don Callis family
12:15You mean to tell me
12:16That Kevin Knight
12:17Couldn't team up
12:17With anybody else
12:18To challenge for
12:18The tag team championship
12:19So you didn't have
12:20To give Kyle Fletcher
12:21A loss here
12:22I'm just saying
12:23It kind of bothers me
12:24I didn't want to see that
12:25I want to see Kyle Fletcher
12:26Be in a much better position
12:28From there
12:29For the AEW
12:30Women's Championship
12:31Mercedes Monet
12:32Giving an opportunity
12:34To Queen Aminata
12:35And look
12:36I don't think
12:37People fully appreciate
12:38How good Queen Aminata is
12:40And at the same time
12:41It's hard to appreciate
12:42Anybody when they're
12:43In the ring
12:43With what could be
12:44The greatest female wrestler
12:45In the world right now
12:46Mercedes Monet
12:47The match is solid
12:48I mean I don't think
12:49Anybody thought
12:50That Mercedes' championship
12:51Was in jeopardy
12:52Whatsoever
12:52You went through
12:53All the hassle
12:54Of setting up
12:55A match with Tecla
12:56So obviously
12:58I don't think
12:59That there was going
12:59To be any shenanigans
13:01Here
13:02But after Monet
13:03Picks up the win
13:04Using her money maker
13:07Tecla does run out
13:08And she spears Monet
13:09And she picks up
13:10Her championship belt
13:11And she's sitting there
13:12And she's like
13:12Swinging it between her legs
13:13Like mocking
13:14Mercedes Monet
13:15She's doing like
13:17The toxic spider pose
13:18Which was fine
13:19I think it all built heat
13:21Here's the problem
13:22With this feud
13:23And I'm not complaining
13:24This is a good problem
13:25To have
13:25So many people
13:27Love Mercedes Monet
13:28Even though she's
13:29Supposed to be a heel
13:30A ton of people
13:32Love Tecla
13:33She's organically
13:34Gotten over to a
13:35Very high level
13:36All by herself
13:37And so
13:38Who do you root for here
13:39They're both technically heels
13:40Everybody
13:41A good number of people
13:42In the audience
13:43Want them both
13:43To be baby faces
13:44I don't know
13:45What you do here
13:46You know
13:47Monet just won
13:48The championship recently
13:49Do you really take it
13:50Off her and put it
13:50Back on Tecla
13:51I don't think so
13:52But I actually
13:53As they're building this
13:54I don't want Tecla
13:55To lose
13:56She's doing some
13:57Of the best work
13:58In the women's division
13:59I don't like seeing
14:00People like that lose
14:01I just don't
14:02I would have kept
14:02These two apart
14:03A little longer
14:04Pushed it off
14:05Maybe till
14:06You know
14:06February or so
14:08This could have been
14:09A prime
14:10Prime match
14:12Later
14:13Early next year
14:14Instead
14:14We
14:14I feel like
14:15We kind of
14:16Rushed it
14:16And if you look
14:17At the women's division
14:18In AEW
14:18It's like
14:18All the top talent
14:19Have pretty much
14:20Faced off with each other
14:21At one point or other
14:22So we're running out
14:23Of fresh matches
14:24At the top of that card
14:25This one is one
14:26So you could have
14:27Postponed this
14:28To get more
14:29Life out of the feud
14:30If you had pushed it
14:32Down the pike
14:32A little bit
14:33Instead of rushing it here
14:34I would have been okay
14:36With Willow Nightingale
14:37Getting a match
14:38With Mercedes instead
14:39Just to keep that going
14:40And push off the
14:41Tecla stuff
14:42Till later
14:42And you could have
14:42A schmaz ending
14:43That resulted in that
14:44I would have been
14:44Fine with that as well
14:45But at this point
14:46We're going to get this match
14:47Mercedes and Tecla
14:48And it should be
14:49A fantastic match
14:50Both ladies can go
14:51At the highest level
14:52So it should be
14:53Very exciting
14:54Gotta talk about
14:55What on paper
14:56Was going to be
14:57The match of the night
14:58And in a lot of ways
14:58It is the match of the night
14:59Will Ospreay defending
15:00The AEW World Heavyweight Championship
15:03Against Kazuchika Okada
15:04And look
15:07Five to seven years ago
15:08This would have been
15:09One of the most
15:10Legendary matchups
15:11In the history
15:12Of professional wrestling
15:13Five to seven years later
15:15I hate to say this
15:16Will is at the top
15:17Of his game
15:18I have no problem
15:18With Will
15:19But I'm starting to
15:20Really wonder about Okada
15:21He doesn't move
15:23With the same fluidity
15:24He did when he was
15:24In New Japan
15:25His shots are not
15:27As stiff as they
15:28Used to be in New Japan
15:30He's not as believable
15:31As he was
15:32When he was in New Japan
15:33He's just not
15:33The same guy
15:34In a lot of the ways
15:35That Kenny Omega
15:36Is no longer
15:37The original Kenny Omega
15:38From New Japan days
15:39Either
15:40Now I get it
15:40Kenny's had a lot
15:41Of injuries
15:42So Kenny's body
15:44Is really
15:44What's his limiting factor
15:46And I understand that
15:47I don't fault Kenny
15:48For that at all
15:48He has sacrificed
15:49His body
15:50For what he loves
15:50But Kazuchika Okada
15:52Has had very few injuries
15:54If any really
15:56He hasn't had
15:57The same wear and tear
15:59In his body
15:59That people like
16:01You know
16:01Kenny Omega have
16:02So I don't understand
16:04Where this is coming from
16:05Where he's just
16:06He's a
16:07I don't want to say
16:08A shell of himself
16:09But he's definitely
16:11Not on the same level
16:12He was five years ago
16:13He's just not
16:14And I think
16:15That's the version
16:16That Tony Khan
16:16Was paying for
16:17When he brought him
16:17To AEW
16:19At this point
16:20With these kinds
16:21Of performances
16:21And I hate to be
16:22This guy
16:23But like
16:24When his contract
16:25Comes due
16:26If you're Tony Khan
16:27Are you paying him
16:28Three million a year again
16:29Or are you going
16:30To let him go
16:31And if you let him go
16:31Where does he go
16:32Does he go back to Japan
16:33Does he go back
16:34To New Japan Pro Wrestling
16:36Has he burnt that bridge
16:37Or does he try
16:38His hand at
16:39World Wrestling Entertainment
16:40And see if he can
16:41Make a bigger name
16:41For himself there
16:42But let's say
16:42He wanted to go that route
16:43With these kinds
16:44Of performances
16:45I just don't see
16:46WWE signing him
16:47Certainly not at the point
16:48That he'll be at
16:48Whatever age he is
16:49That late in his career
16:50I don't know
16:51I just
16:52I would like to see
16:53The Okada of old
16:54Because this match
16:55Could have been
16:57Magical
16:57And instead
16:58It was a good match
16:59It was a good television match
17:00It just wasn't
17:01What I was hoping for
17:02Out of Will Ospreay
17:04And Kazuchika Okada
17:05What I also found
17:06Interesting
17:06After the match
17:07After the
17:11Ospreay picks up
17:11The win
17:13With the blade
17:14And then he looks out
17:15And you have Samoa Joe
17:16On the ramp
17:17And he's kind of
17:17Waving to Will Ospreay
17:19They are the only two
17:20Confirmed for
17:21The Clockwork Orange match
17:22So obviously
17:23Samoa Joe
17:24In a way I guess
17:24Is taunting him
17:25Because he knows
17:26He's getting his
17:26Championship opportunity
17:29But here's the thing
17:30And I'm not going to do this
17:31Because I don't believe
17:32In giving out spoilers
17:33It's just not my schtick
17:34If you want to
17:35They also taped
17:36An episode of
17:37Collision tonight
17:38It is on
17:39The tape delay
17:40It'll show
17:41This weekend
17:42You can find out
17:43Who the next qualifier
17:44For Clockwork Orange is
17:45You can see
17:46Other matches
17:47That were set up
17:48For Wrestle Dream
17:49On the collision tapings
17:51Very exciting stuff
17:52In AEW right now
17:53I'm really impressed
17:53With what they've done
17:54One of the few things
17:56That I really
17:57I just want to throw in here
17:57Along with
17:58You know Dynamite
17:59Is there has been
18:00An update from
18:01Fightful Selected
18:02AEW
18:03Is strongly courting
18:04Kairi Sane
18:05To come in
18:06And compete
18:07For All Elite Wrestling
18:08Now she hasn't
18:10Leapt at the opportunity
18:11I don't know
18:12If that's because
18:12She's trying to put together
18:13A dual contract
18:14With you know
18:15New Japan
18:16Slash Stardom
18:17And AEW
18:18Maybe she doesn't
18:19Want to go to AEW
18:20Even though she has
18:21Some really great talents
18:22There maybe she feels
18:23Like the field is crowded
18:24And it kind of is
18:25But Kairi Sane
18:27Is a brand new face
18:27In AEW
18:28If she got there
18:29She'd instantly be
18:30At the top of the card
18:31I imagine they put
18:32Some kind of championship
18:33On her
18:33She could really do
18:34Amazing things
18:35So it's kind of
18:36You know
18:37Confusing to me
18:38Why she hasn't
18:40Shown up in AEW yet
18:41Now I did see
18:43Somebody post on X
18:44That they believe
18:45That the comment
18:46From Asuka
18:47Last week
18:47About how she's
18:48Not retired
18:49She hasn't quit
18:49The company
18:50Or anything like that
18:50That when she comes back
18:52They could bring
18:53Kairi back to WWE
18:54And perhaps that's
18:55What she's waiting for
18:56WWE let her go
18:57To shed salary
18:58They've done that
18:59For a while
18:59Maybe she comes back
19:01To WWE with Asuka
19:02And they finally do
19:03That blow off
19:04Or that three way
19:04Or I don't know
19:05I don't know
19:06Maybe EO gets in trouble
19:08And needs help
19:08And after the wonderful
19:10Loving send off
19:11She gave Asuka
19:12Maybe Asuka comes
19:13To EO's aid
19:14And Asuka goes baby face
19:15I don't know
19:16But at this point
19:18I'm just waiting
19:19To see Kairi show up
19:20On AEW programming
19:21And we haven't had
19:22A lot of updates
19:23About Ilya Dragunov
19:25Lately
19:25I know he's got
19:26Some visa issues
19:27But how long
19:27Did these things
19:28Take to get resolved
19:29When he was in WWE
19:30They didn't seem
19:30To have any issues
19:31And so now
19:32AEW's just like
19:33At a work stoppage
19:34With him
19:34And we're just waiting
19:35To see whenever
19:36He arrives
19:37Sheamus
19:37What is Sheamus doing
19:38I'm shocked
19:39That he hasn't been
19:40On a television program yet
19:41The way he speaks
19:42About his passion
19:43For the business
19:43And getting an opportunity
19:44You would have thought
19:45He would have jumped
19:45All over the first week
19:46That he was a free agent
19:47I don't know
19:48We'll have to wait and see
19:49That being said
19:51WrestleDream
19:52Should be a great show
19:53It's shaping up
19:54To be a phenomenal
19:55Top to bottom
19:56The card is looking
19:57Great already
19:58Clockwork Orange
19:58A little funky
19:59A little weird
20:00But if you weren't
20:01Going to do
20:02Osprey and Okada
20:03There
20:03Or you did it tonight
20:04Then this Clockwork Orange
20:05Thing I hope they put
20:06Together something
20:07Very very special
20:07Because that's what
20:08You all deserve
20:09That being said
20:10That is all the time
