03:56as i said talking all aew dynamite great show tonight set up a lot of really interesting angles

04:03for full gear which is in the very near future and contrary to what was reported earlier in the day

04:09after this show it is very obvious that the rumored main event match at full gear that we thought was

04:15going to be will osprey versus adam copeland is not going to happen and we'll get into why as we

04:19go

04:20through the show the show opens with the young bucks in a championship qualifier match going against

04:26mark davis and jake doyle of the don callis family and i'm just going to say it the only way

04:32i can

04:32this was basically a glorified squash match davis and doyle tore the young bucks apart this was

04:40not even close not sporting not whatsoever the young bucks i've never seen them be booked to look

04:46weak this looked weak and it looked like there's a serious threat to the tag team championship now

04:51because davis and doyle won this match they will get a shot at the world tag team championship

04:56in the very near future when will that take place we'll find out soon i'm sure but this if you

05:02were

05:03philosophically speaking the young bucks this has got to rattle your cage you have a loss to these

05:08guys already not just any loss a loss in very convincing fashion so davis and doyle i love that they

05:14are escalating through the tag team ranks they're being taken seriously they now have a clean pinfall

05:20victory over the bucks this was cool stuff from there we get a very interesting match as i said

05:26earlier not the main event of full gear will osprey and adam copeland teaming up to take on

05:31kyle fletcher and kevin knight of the don callis family and this is another match that is very physical

05:36great moves going on all four of these guys can work just i gotta be honest as a lifelong edge

05:44fan ever

05:44since he debuted in wwe and now is adam copeland seeing him get in there with people like kyle fletcher

05:49kevin knight will osprey is just exhilarating for me i love seeing him be able to go in there and

05:55hang with these young guys and really put on a clinic of a match now in this match kazuchika okada

06:01does come out to the ring and create the distraction for adam copeland leading to him getting taken out

06:07and he's the one who picks up the loss for he and will osprey's team once the match is over

06:13the don

06:13callis family is going to come out that we're talking ward low kazuchika okada doyle and davis from earlier

06:19and it is a full-on beatdown of adam copeland and will osprey as that's happening the lights go down

06:26and darby allen is on his way out this is just after kyle fletcher picked up the aw championship

06:32belt to hit uh osprey with it obviously fletcher wants that belt but darby allen's lights come on

06:38darby comes out and he is accompanied by the returning stephen borden who must be medically

06:43cleared now because they're about to head to the ring as they go to the ring they are joined by

06:48the

06:48young bucks uh adam copeland and will osprey and they it is on the fight is on this is solid

06:55solid

06:55stuff um it is obvious at the end of this they are being challenged to a blood and guts match

07:02at full gear so the main event that was originally rumored to be osprey and copeland is now going to

07:09be a blood and guts match you're going to have the don callis family six members versus um the young

07:14bucks adam copeland um will osprey man who am i forgetting and the young but young bucks who am

07:24i forgetting i'm forgetting somebody who else is in this match oh darby and steven borden so you're

07:27gonna have six on six for this this match it's gonna be insane um can't wait to see that that

07:33is

07:33actually somewhat exciting to me and the fact that it's i hate to say it this way but it's not

07:37a

07:37chris jericho blood and guts match and it's not the death riders like we've we've seen those to

07:41death it'll be nice to get some fresh blood out there for blood and guts from there another squash

07:48match swerve strickland against tome philippe this is a worthless match i think the purpose to

07:55it was to show swerve in in a bad mood i really i think that's all the only reason they

07:59even did this

07:59match it gave swerve a match let him showcase his anger his frustration because that's gonna become

08:04relevant in a little bit after there we get a tag team match jay white and orange cassidy versus

08:09wheeler yuda and uh daniel garcia another solid match and oddly with yuda and garcia having so

08:17much time together as a tag team in the death riders i was a little surprised at the continuity

08:23of jay white and orange cassidy white and cassidy end up pick up the picking up the win and frankly

08:28i looked at this as thinking like this is a unification kind of between the bang bang gang

08:33and the conglomeration which i'm okay with we'll get back to that a little bit later because that's

08:37going to get far more complicated towards the end of the show we do have a backstage segment where

08:42we're talking to the new trios champions the good the bad the guapo so we've got hangman page brody

08:48king bandito talking about their win they are the first three-time trios champions which i would never

08:54even have thought about had they not said it on in the interview um i guess that's congratulations to

08:59them as they're having their interview they are interrupted by prince nana and they are interrupted by

09:05swerve strickland he represents himself and the new level and they want a rematch for the trios

09:11championship but not just any rematch at first hangman adam page talks about how that's how they

09:17got their rematch and you know same for them they will definitely grant them their rematch but then

09:23swerve throws in the caveat he wants it to be a texas death match and that's something that you

09:29immediately see a code switch of adam hangman page's character and he's like you know what i'm not going to

09:34volunteer my teammates to do this so his answer is no so i'm fairly confident we'll get the rematch

09:40i don't know how what they're going to do on screen to promote it and turn it into a texas

09:45death match

09:45but that should be what we get so now we have something to look forward to because that's going

09:50to be a killer match and i can't wait to see it i think these guys even though i'm kind

09:54of over the

09:55six of them being in the ring together and i really wish they moved past the um swerve strickland and

10:00adam page stuff the fact that they're going to get to run it back one more time and i suspect

10:04this

10:04will be the end of the feud between these two teams um i'm okay for it one more time just

10:09because

10:10they are that good um so and when you do a texas death style basically tornado tag style with notice

10:16qualifications and all that kind of crazy nonsense i can't imagine the stuff they're going to do now if

10:21it was just swerve and adam page i you already know there'd be all kinds of insane bloody spots and

10:27whatnot i have never really seen kofi and xavier woods get all that involved in the blood so i don't

10:33know where that's going to go as a texas death scenario but i think it's pretty obvious that

10:38that's where they're headed from there renee young i actually thought it was strange and by the way

10:43you put it in the comments below were the microphones off all episode this week did you

10:47guys have the same trouble i was having it almost sounded like everybody on commentary was in like an

10:51echo chamber that being said they go to talk to renee paquette standing in the ring and

10:56she's not even in the ring yet it's almost like she missed her cue or somebody didn't let her know

11:01that it was time to get in the ring and she starts talking before she's even in the ring to

11:05introduce

11:06mercedes monet mercedes is coming out she's still the aew women's champion she talks some trash about

11:12willow nightingale with who she won the championship front and then she talks about defeating uh tecla at

11:18the um at the last show at what oh my gosh wrestle dream which is fine i'm okay with all

11:24of that

11:24but she's basically out there trying to find out who is her next opponent going to be and it does

11:30not take long for us to get an answer to that question her new opponent to my surprise is marina

11:36shafir she comes through the crowd you couldn't tell right away but she was actually accompanied

11:40by john moxley shafir comes out gets right in monet's face monet looks like she's going to go at it

11:46shockingly there was a lot of profanity used in this part and you guys know i don't use a lot

11:51of

11:51profanity on my show i'm not going to repeat what they said very graphic stuff though check it out

11:55um monet ends up retreating but it's obvious this is the feud they're going to go with and then when

12:01she's retreating up the ramp way out next is roderick strong he's on the way to the ring because

12:06he has a continental classic championship qualifier match against john moxley who's now already in the

12:11ring and oddly we barely saw mox come out uh strong gets in the ring he and mox put on

12:17a clinic of a

12:18match i mean both of these guys can really go and i think roddy strong is doing some of the

12:22best work

12:22of his career they even said the same thing on commentary tonight and i think that's accurate

12:26i really do um i do have to say this i feel like tony shavani is on top of his

12:33game in terms of calling

12:34matches right now not overly impressed with uh excalibur and taz lately um really uh subpar you know and

12:43that's a shame because i think in the past both have done some good work but this really was not

12:48their best night it just wasn't in terms of commentary um but as the match goes on john

12:53moxley is going to pick up the win i thought it was interesting they made note of the fact that

12:58if

12:58um roddy strong were to have either beaten or gone to a 20 minute draw with moxley because it's the

13:05continental championship there's some like special stipulation that a draw or a win equals a win and

13:10then we get him a championship opportunity i thought it was weird that they decided to emphasize

13:14that so much from there the dogs come out of the back and they attack roddy strong well that doesn't

13:20really sit well with john moxley who when he goes to intervene the dogs attack john moxley so now

13:26you've got a beat down of a conglomeration member and a death rider by the dogs while they're attacking

13:33them gabe kid comes down gabe kid you know part of the death riders they turn on him and they

13:40attack

13:41him as well so now mox is down gabe kid is down roddy strong is down and out comes the

13:49rescue the

13:49conglomeration and the bang bang gang they slide into the ring they chase people away and as that's

13:55happening jay white turns on orange cassidy and lays out cassidy thereby joining the dogs the bang bang

14:05gang and the dogs now a unified front they take out the death riders they take out the conglomeration

14:11they hit a blade runner on moxley and then they do their guns up pose all together clearly a unified

14:18front i find this wildly interesting because they haven't done enough with jay white in the last two

14:24years to really keep me invested this is exciting this is like a throwback to new japan pro wrestling

14:30i loved it i loved all of this um i and i think that you know it gives the bang

14:35bang gang something

14:35more substantial to do and now they are a legitimate click of of people i don't know what you're going

14:40to call the combined group um i don't want it to be the dogs and i don't think you can

14:45continue with

14:45bang bang gang so obviously i feel like we're going to get a new name we'll have to wait and

14:49see what

14:50that is from there nick wayne has arrived he's in a limo he's got a new shirt on this is

14:55nick wayne

14:55defeated chris jericho two times or whatever um he's going to come to the ring when he gets there

15:00he's calling out jericho does not expect jericho to show up but he does jericho's music hits he comes

15:06to the ring and he has to apologize to nick wayne and he tries multiple times throughout this segment

15:12but keeps getting cut off by nick wayne eventually after getting cut off a million times he does eventually

15:17get to say his apologies and he also cautions nick wayne about when he was in his spot he benefited

15:24from all the information he got from the veterans he says that you know this kid is talented he could

15:29be a multiple time world champion um he's basically giving him a cautionary tale about how to progress

15:34his career i thought this was actually pretty solid stuff i would have liked for nick wayne to do

15:39something to goad jericho in um and to have some more physicality or like i said on my my show

15:46prior to

15:46wrestle dream i really think it might be interesting to have jericho join nick wayne

15:51instead of nick wayne joining jericho if that makes any sense to mentor him and help him get further in

15:57the business but not do it from the learning tree perspective let nick wayne be the leader of the

16:01group and jericho is the subordinate as strange as that sounds for the veteran to do that i think

16:06it would add a new layer and a new feel to that whole scenario from their number one contenders match

16:12for the tbs championship we have queen amanada taking on the returning mayo world and look the

16:17match was great uh for most of the match towards the end of the match i was really frustrated with

16:23the split screen side by side with some of the most important action towards the end of the match was

16:28taking place and then to couple that with the fact that the ending sequences it felt very rushed you

16:35know they come back from break they're outside the ring there's all this taunting outside the ring

16:38into the into the ringside steps back into the ring some basic basic moves before amanada finally

16:45hits a finisher and picks up to win quinn amanada will now take on persephone persephone and dr

16:50brit baker dmd were at ringside throughout the match talking trash which i thought was great because

16:55brit baker can actually do really great stuff on the microphone and it was nice to hear persephone

16:59speak a little bit um but obviously this is going to be an interesting feud amanada versus persephone i do

17:04not expect persephone to lose the championship during this feud i've said it a thousand times

17:09she is one of the most talented people on the aw roster right now i think she's underused and

17:15underappreciated she may be the one to take the championship from mercedes monet at some point

17:19um if it's not her i hope it's megan bain i think the two of them both but where the

17:23heck

17:23what is going on with camille we haven't seen camille in forever they really got to find a way to

17:28get

17:28her back to tv too because that would be another person that could be challenging monet for the

17:32championship in the short term that you know obviously would lose but at least keep the

17:36championship relevant that being said we get to our main event of the evening the debut of ilia

17:42dragunov taking on speedball mike bailey the match is amazing every ilia match really is speedball puts

17:49on pretty good matches as well this was hard hitting the end of the match sees him hit the d

17:55-bomb to the

17:56knee and then another one a much bigger one slamming into the head of mike bailey and ilia

18:01dragunov as would if we had done a prediction show we would have predicted everybody would

18:05is going to pick up the win in his debut now the only thing that surprised me about this

18:10is i really thought that they would have somebody come out to get in his face after the match

18:15set him up for his first feud and nobody came out now they did have a segment in the back

18:20prior to his

18:21match where the don callis family was back there talking about blood and guts i apologize that i did

18:25that kind of out of order but when they're back there don callis is making it very clear that they

18:29expect to destroy the other team at blood and guts but then he also at the end of the interview

18:33said

18:34how he had to leave because he wanted to go scout ilia now i don't want to see another wrestler

18:38join

18:38the don callis family and and we already have too many where we're not even seeing them all on screen

18:42like where was brian cage done it why isn't he a part of blood and guts why are we leaving

18:47members

18:48out in blood and guts you can have as many people as you want really that cage can hold plenty

18:52have brian cage be a part of it have lance archer be a part of it add two more people

18:56to the good guys

18:57two more baby faces i don't know who but add two people ilia could be one of the two one

19:03of the

19:03additions you know and if you are bringing in seamus or somebody like that they could be the

19:07other addition i'm just saying um but i don't know this show in all honesty this is a pretty solid

19:13show

19:13i'm going four stars this was a really good show as i said but in many times i'm not dave

19:19melzer i don't

19:20give bs ratings i just give you ratings from the heart i don't even have a criteria i go with

19:24my gut what

19:25i feel and i feel a four for this show because there really was some enjoyable segments great

19:29setting things up we have multiple matches set up for full gear at this point um it should be

19:34a great card as well i forget the data it's a couple weeks two weeks away i believe can we

19:38get

19:38to full gear um but yeah aw hitting on all cylinders right now lots of great in-ring action lots

19:45of great

19:45segments this was a very very good show but it doesn't matter what i think what matters is what you
