00:00Hello, good morning and welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office.
00:04A bit of a different feel out there for most of us, a cloudy, damp start,
00:09and that's thanks to weather systems moving in from the Atlantic.
00:12And the week ahead, well, further weather systems will move in,
00:15bringing some wet and windy weather at times, particularly across the northwest,
00:19though an area of high pressure will move across southern areas
00:22through the middle of the week to give some settled weather.
00:24And eventually it looks like high pressure may start to build in by the weekend.
00:30So let's look at the details for this morning.
00:32A lucky few of us will see some bright spells in the far east first thing,
00:36but it will soon cloud over.
00:37And then for most of us, a grey day to come.
00:40Lots of clouds, some outbreaks of light rain and drizzle pushing north and eastwards.
00:45We could see a few brighter breaks trying to develop as we move through into the afternoon,
00:49particularly across parts of Wales down into the west country.
00:52But for most of us, grey skies, perhaps some longer spells of rain for Northern Ireland,
00:56Western Scotland as well.
00:58With southerly winds, though, it will be drawing in some warm air for the time of year.
01:03So temperatures much higher than the weekend, generally reaching the high teens
01:07and then locally the low 20s, where we do see any of those brighter breaks trying to develop.
01:112021 Celsius not out of the question.
01:15And very similar into the evening time.
01:17Outbreaks of rain pushing across Scotland, staying cloudy for most of us.
01:21And then, as we head through the night, we'll see a band of heavy rain pushing across Northern Ireland into
01:28Scotland.
01:29Some of this accompanied by strong and gusty winds ahead of it, staying largely dry with variable amounts of cloud.
01:36A temperature difference behind the weather front.
01:38Temperatures dropping away, perhaps even into single figures in the countryside.
01:42But a very mild night to come across England and Wales ahead of that weather front.
01:4716, 17 Celsius in one or two spots.
01:50So a very warm night for the time of year.
01:53So a wet and windy start for western parts of England and Wales.
01:56This weather front slowly pushes south eastwards through the day on Tuesday.
01:59Behind it, much sunnier skies moving in, but also a scattering of showers.
02:04Showers most frequent across the north and the west.
02:06Some of them heavy at times across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
02:10Perhaps even the odd rumble of thunder and fairly blustry winds as well.
02:14So a fresher feel up here.
02:15Temperatures 14 to 16 Celsius, but still mild across England and Wales in the sunshine.
02:22Temperatures perhaps still lifting into the low 20s.
02:25That system will all push through into Wednesday as a ridge of high pressure starts to move through,
02:31giving plenty of sunny spells.
02:33Could turn a bit wetter again, particularly across the north of the UK.
02:36On Thursday, before then some fresher conditions move into Friday with sunny spells across the country.
02:42Temperatures again remaining well above average, particularly through Wednesday, Thursday,
02:47and then just starting to turn a little fresher by the end of the week.
