00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning. We do have a wind
00:04warning which kicks in at 10am across the far northwest of Scotland. It turns windy
00:09across many areas, all courtesy of this deep area of low pressure which is pushing up towards
00:13Iceland. However, we are in warm sector conditions so the air remains moist and relatively warm.
00:19Here's your warning zone through the day. Gusts could reach 60-70 mph and certainly
00:24gusty across the hills and mountains towards the north as it turns breezy further south
00:28and southeast. This morning, some rain. That's the warm front across the north and northwest
00:32of Scotland pushing up towards Shetland. Lots of cloud generally for Scotland, particularly
00:37exposed to wind which is strengthening all the while. So a cloudy start also across Northern
00:42Ireland. Southern Scotland, England and Wales, a clearer morning, a chilly one certainly.
00:47One or two drizzy showers can't be ruled out towards the southwest and we could see one
00:51or two mist and fog patches as well with a lighter breeze across central and eastern areas. So
00:56through the morning, yes, we watch as this warm front brings some rain towards the far northwest.
01:01That cloud always thick enough to shroud the hills and mountains towards Scotland and Northern
01:06Ireland and then those wind really picking up some strength through the morning and into lunchtime.
01:11Gales then across western Scotland as we head through into lunchtime and the afternoon. Gusts
01:17will reach through the afternoon 60-70 mph with those high waves. The breeze picks up further east but
01:23we will see brighter breaks through the latter part of the day and that will help temperatures
01:28rise quite nicely. So we're looking at probably 18 or 19 degrees Celsius here anywhere probably
01:33from east-southeast Wales towards the southeast of England and even across the central belt before
01:39the rain pushes in and clears 17 degrees Celsius. But this back edge of the rain could be heavy
01:45at times as it moves its way southeastwards as we head through this evening and overnight and
01:51certainly some very strong and gusty winds with gales along the coastline. So through this
01:56evening that wet weather rolls in, those winds as well associated with it mixing the air up,
02:02cloud thickening ahead of it and then eventually we will see some rain by around 11 o'clock midnight
02:08across the far north of England and some drizzy showers continue towards the southwest with that
02:13moist airstream. Notice by around 5am the rain still covering much of Northern Ireland, central
02:20belt of Scotland towards eastern Scotland. Towards the north we're now into a fresher and showery
02:25regime with a blustery breeze. Ahead of it the air is warm, mild, cloudy and a little bit damp in
02:33places.
02:33Here are your temperatures then holding out 15, 13, 14 across England and Wales, 8 to 10 across the far
02:40north
02:40and northwest of Scotland. And the air will turn fresher as that rain attempts to clear Scotland and
02:46Northern Ireland through the morning. But we could see some heavy pulses through the morning, tricky driving
02:51conditions, poor visibility as that band of rain continues its passage towards Northern England as well as
02:57northern and western parts of Wales. Again some strong winds associated with it. Ahead of it temperatures could
03:03reach 20, 21 degrees Celsius. Really exceptionally mild for this time of year. Further north and northwest
03:08fresh with those blustery showers a little sunshine coming through 13 degrees Celsius. That's the picture
03:16on Thursday afternoon. This rain will eventually clear towards the southeast but it will take its time.
03:24So as we head through Thursday here's that weather front. You can see the air mass changes from mild to
03:31chilly or fresh. And then into Thursday evening they're straddling England and Wales. Through
03:37Thursday night and into Friday clearing the far southeast of England. So a brighter day to come on
03:43Friday with a ridge of high pressure coming in. Still a few showers in the mix. Temperatures though struggling.
03:49You'll notice the difference across England and Wales and Southern Scotland. And we will see some brighter
03:54breaks coming through as well. And into Saturday yes it starts on a chilly note but also with some sunshine
04:01and a lighter breeze. I'll see you later.
