00:09I'm a beauty editor who's terrified of contouring, but today I'm going to face my beauty fears
00:14and I'm double daring myself to give it a try.
00:18So contouring, what is the deal? Why are you so afraid?
00:21I think it's so scary. I don't want to look like I'm one of those really overdone 80s ladies.
00:27Dynasty drag. Yeah. Yes. Well, I have a few tricks that I think can make it very wearable for you.
00:33The secret is just to use the right product and the right brush.
00:36And the nice thing about contour, a lot of people think it's only about slimming down the face.
00:40It isn't only about taking off pounds, it's also about playing up your features.
00:45So I'm taking a large fan brush and a matte taupe shadow and I'm just hitting it up into the
00:51cheekbone.
00:52And what that's going to do, think of it like the shade of a tree.
00:55It's just going to play up that natural shape.
00:58Now contour is situational. You could also go in with a smaller brush.
01:02As women get older, they become more angular.
01:05And if we want to soften angles, we can actually go in and give a little lift with our contour.
01:10The other thing that I love to do is to take something soft that has a little bit of highlight
01:15to it.
01:15And I love this product because you literally bring it right onto the face and then sculpt it with your
01:21fingers.
01:22And you literally can feel those high points.
01:25And what that's going to do is soften down those lines and give you a look that feels supernatural for
01:32every skin tone, every size and shape face every day.

02:11You can also go in with a smaller brush and you can sculpt down and contour any area where you
02:19want to add a little bit of depth.
02:21I love your lip, so just going right below the lip and right into this divot below the nose with
02:27a soft taupe shadow.

02:35that Hollywood kissable lip.
