Stretch and work your core in a standing position with this move.
Transcript
00:04The upside down pendulum is a great exercise for your core. Stand with your feet wider than hip
00:10width apart and your knees slightly bent. Hold a 3 to 5 pound dumbbell between both hands and
00:17extend your arms towards the ceiling. With your head between your arms, bend to the left as far
00:22as possible, keeping your hips and shoulders square. At the last moment, rotate towards the
00:27floor, then rotate back to forward facing position and return your arms overhead. Repeat on the other
00:33side, moving smoothly, just like a pendulum. This exercise works your abs from every angle.
00:40It's especially good for targeting your obliques. Do this move slowly. Avoid letting momentum pull
00:46your arms down as you move. To make it harder, add an overhead press each time your arms come back
00:53to
00:53the center. Bend your elbows to lower the weight directly in front of your chest, then straighten
00:58and extend your arms back overhead. The overhead press adds toning for your arms and shoulders
01:03to the move, which otherwise is all about the core.
