00:00Dinner. Thank you. Can you come get your plate so we can eat? I'm govin'
00:05I'm hungry.
00:08Hi, my name is Amber. Hey guys, I'm Kayla. So y'all remember that movie Freaky Friday?
00:14Where the mom and the daughter switch places? Well for this try this challenge
00:17I'm gonna be switching places with my mom. I'm switching places with my mama. And for one day
00:23I'm gonna be the mom. And she gets to be the daughter. It's Freaky Friday.
00:28So growing up, I mean my mom did everything. She was the one who drove me to every practice,
00:34came to every competition or game that I was in. She made sure I got to school. She made sure
00:39if I
00:40didn't wake up that I was up. She packed my lunches. She made me dinner. My mom made a lot
00:45of sacrifices for us. So I don't imagine that she would have a ton of me time. She never really
00:51has
00:52time for herself. She's always doing something whether it's like paying bills, cleaning, running
00:57errands. I'm excited to see how my mom reacts to this. My mother is just as dramatic as I am.
01:03She's not gonna make it easy on me. I already know. So follow me for the next day as me
01:09and my mama get
01:09our Freaky Friday on. Good morning guys. It is 5 a.m. and it is time to go wake up
01:19my mom.
01:20And rise and shine. Time to get up. Can I just get five more minutes please? No ma'am. You're
01:29gonna be late.
01:30Oh my gosh. I'm gonna choose your outfit and lay it out on the bed for you. How about you
01:36tell me
01:36what you want to wear today? I would like to dress as a princess today. I can't open my eyes
01:44because it's so bright. It's so early.
01:49It's 6 a.m. Oh my god. I can't. I'm so tired. Oh man. All right. Let's go wake her
01:58up everyone.
01:59I'm gonna get up. No. No. Get up. It's time to get up. You have to go. It's cool. I'm
02:06gonna be late.
02:08Fine. This is the fit that I have chosen. I'm gonna go start on breakfast. So it's about 6.30.
02:16I did a
02:17quick change and got ready first. I need to cook breakfast, make lunch, and get everybody fed,
02:25out the door, bags packed. Let's go. She only likes egg whites, so I'm gonna crack some egg whites in
02:33a
02:33bowl. We gonna try to get the whites out without the egg, the yolk, the, okay. Oh, yep. It's fine.
02:41That's what moms do all the time, right? We got bread, chicken, and mayo. These are the ingredients
02:48you gift with a picky eater. It's really good mom. Thank you. All I need in the world. Compliment
02:55from my daughter. Oh mom, guess what? What? Tomorrow afternoon there's an assembly,
03:00so you can take me, right? Will you pick up poster board for me? I need some new markers. When
03:04do you
03:05expect me to do all that? You just do it on your way home. It's fine. This is a healthy
03:09breakfast.
03:10We've got the sandwich there. We've got some juice. Also, I have packed snacks in your bag.
03:18Goody, what kind of snacks did you pack? Grapes and nuts. No chips. No chips. I need you to take
03:26my
03:26picture. Okay, well you need to leave. We don't have time. I look ratchet. Do it over this way.
03:30Not holding it high enough. Let me see. Oh god. Can't use that. Do you like it? I have to
03:37do it over.
03:37I have to do it over? Okay, well you need to leave. We don't have time. Okay, honey. See when
03:42you get home.
03:44What's for dinner? Bye. Are you going to pick me up at four? Yep. Okay, bye mommy. Love you. I
03:49was super duper prepared for
03:53my mom, like getting her ready, getting her prepared, but I don't have any outfit picked out for myself. I
04:02still need to get my life together before I go to work.
04:09I'm exhausted. I didn't understand how much that one hour would affect me during the day.
04:19I'm crashing right now. I'm trying to pick myself up, but I swear I'm like, where am I?
04:24It's about four o'clock and I feel like I've already had a full day. Oh my god, there's still
04:32so much left to do tonight. I am exhausted. I just want to go sit in bed and watch the
04:39Netflix,
04:40eat some dinner. I'm really just sitting here trying to figure out how I'm going to
04:44make dinner and then do all the things that I need to do. I need to help her with her
04:50homework. I also
04:51need to like have mommy time. I don't know if that's going to happen. I'm pretty sure that's
04:57not going to happen tonight, but we're going to try to squeeze it in. Time for me to make dinner.
05:04We've never been like a major cooking family, but today I have a rotisserie chicken that I'm going to
05:11cut up, put with a little side salad and get real chef life. I have started dinner. My mom is
05:18on her way
05:19home, so the goal is to have dinner ready by the time she gets home. Dinner. Thank you.
05:28Can you come get your plate so we can eat? I'm coming. Hurry. She's eating vegetables
05:36because I am making her eat vegetables. That's good. You're not allowed to drink wine.
05:43It's grape juice. Okay, so it's homework time. We are going to meet my daughter here. Some posters
05:50for SUNY council election. That's beautiful. Good job. It's horrible. Hey, it's not horrible. Be proud
05:59of your work and be proud of the effort that you put into everything you do. All that matters is
06:04that
06:04you try your hardest. Thanks mom. You're great. So I'm all done with dinner. I cleaned up and I decided
06:11to
06:12make some dessert. So I made some banana pudding. She didn't have any homework tonight. So she's having
06:19her play time in the bathroom and I'm about to go check on her to see what she got going
06:24on.
06:26What are you doing? I was playing makeup. Will you have any put these on? No, honey. It's time to
06:33go to bed.
06:34Okay, it's bedtime for my daughter. So I'm going to go make sure she goes to bed.
06:41Lights out. Strip roll. Time for bed. No other way around it. Time for lights out. Good night, mommy.
06:50Good night. All right, can you please close my door? Thanks mom. Tata. Close door. Don't forget. Mommy,
06:59can you read me a bedtime story? Once upon a time there was a little mermaid. This was delicious.
07:05May I have some more? May I have some water? May I have juice though? It's too late and you've
07:09already
07:09had a bunch of sugar so we're going to go to sleep now. But I'm not sleepy. All right, I'm
07:17officially
07:18done playing mom for the day and honestly I'm so wiped. Don't want her to hear me. Definitely have
07:2820 million times more respect for her now. And thanks mom. I love you for everything and I really
07:35appreciate everything you've done for me. I enjoyed myself. I loved doing this challenge. I was super
07:40duper tired. Like I'm still tired. But the biggest takeaway was my mom does a whole lot of stuff that
07:48I don't even realize that she does. Things that I did not consciously appreciate her for. So I'm wanting
07:54to thank my mom even for the little things. Give your mom a hug. Appreciate your mama. She
07:58does a lot for you. Never take your mom for granted. Thanks so much for watching and I'll see you
08:03in the
08:03next video.
08:04you
