00:05so first of all King Belle how did you get that name um I gave it to myself because I
00:11just felt
00:12like because of obviously the industry I work in it's very boys yeah so I just wanted it was kind
00:19of like an alias like just to not make me feel so like alienated alienated so I was like you
00:25know obviously I'm a queen as well but I was like I'm a king too yeah I like the fact
00:30that you were
00:30like give me the crown yeah I'm not gonna wait for anyone to take it yeah just give me the
00:34crown
00:34all right yeah but how is it working in an industry that is because being like a presenter or working
00:40in music yes there are a lot of men but as a like a DJ by by trade you're one
00:47of the only full-time
00:48female DJ that I know when I first started there wasn't that many you know girls so I already had
00:55the kind of like battle at first because you know the lineups I was like the only girl or put
01:02as a warm-up yeah you know yeah playing before everyone gets there yeah before anyone gets there
01:08before the club opens yeah I guess like you have to be technically better because people will think
01:17unfortunately people might think you know oh she's booked because she looks this way exactly because
01:21there aren't any girls in the lineup so it's like having to show up and then like show
01:25out yeah yeah that's the thing proving that actually can DJ and that's another thing as
01:32well like I don't want people to be like oh yeah she looks really good on the lineup or she
01:37she's cute
01:38let's book her aren't people to deep to book me because I can actually like tell it down yeah
01:43sell it down yeah exactly I like to think that um you know I opened the door you know for
01:50other girls
01:50to come through and to come and join me on the lineup so taking it back to the beginning how
01:56did
01:56you first start your musical journey I started in store and then I was a studio with friends as
02:02well you know cool nights in East London East London had all the little parties going and I
02:07saw with a night could work it and that was just like friends and it was run by two peers
02:15and they
02:16just wanted to put a night on for our friends and for this type of music that we wanted to
02:20vibe to
02:20so it is festival season it is and you travel a lot for work what is the best festival experience
02:28you've
02:28ever had okay so the best one that I've ever had was Glastonbury yeah because also I said I'll never
02:36go to
02:36Glastonbury until I play and then I got booked well I mean speak it into existence yeah so then I
02:43was
02:43like okay cool we'll go Glastonbury and it was amazing because it is such a it's so many people
02:50do you have any festival survival tips for those rookies like imagine if it's somebody's first
02:56ever festival okay you're a seasoned professional okay so make sure you take wipes oh yeah yeah for your
03:03plans whites for the loo because when you're in there you're alone you're alone and it might be
03:08dark might be dark so you need whites because there's never any tissue or anything so finally
03:15Mishavon Bell what are your plans for this summer what are you up to um obviously going to loads of
03:20festivals I'll be traveling I'm currently planning a tour as well so I'm currently planning a Europe tour
03:28tour and an American tour and an Australian tour yeah yeah okay the real last question can I come
03:36on all these tours yeah come on this is what I'm saying this is what I'm saying yes Siobhan
03:41you
03:41you
