00:05Hi guys, it's Yinka and on this episode of a Diet Coke Break With, I'm sitting down and having a
00:10chat with makeup artist extraordinaire Erica Marie. Hello. So first, walk us through your
00:16daily beauty routine. Okay, so every day my routine kind of changes depending on what I'm
00:22doing that day but at the moment I've been really liking something a bit more minimal,
00:26we go moisturiser, an illuminating cream, get the brows on, blush and a lip and that would be me,
00:33happy, bit of mascara and I'm good to go. So how did you get into the beauty industry? So I
00:40would
00:40probably say that I went quite a roundabout way than maybe some other people would have but it
00:46was through my study of fashion design firstly that made me kind of like explore the world of
00:53makeup artistry and working backstage during fashion week or in more creative settings or
00:58photo shoots and things like that. It really gave me a kind of different take on makeup that I had
01:04never seen before and that would probably be mostly how I got into it through that side.
01:10And Halloween is just around the corner. What would you say is an easy spooky makeup look to achieve?
01:16So I would probably say something that's like doesn't take too much effort or too much like,
01:21you know, pre-skill or something is just kind of more of like, it sounds very Halloween-y,
01:28possessed sort of witch, it's pretty easy. You just use the natural contours of your face,
01:34a little brown eyeshadow in there and like it will really just kind of give a haunting vibe and then
01:38you can wear whatever you want, you know, it's a pretty simple one to go for. What do you think
01:42is
01:42going to be the next big beauty trend? I definitely think softer skin, like a move away from like full
01:50coverage, more sort of natural brows, maybe like not even any product in brows as well, although we're
01:56not all blessed in that department. In an ideal world you just brush them up. But yeah, I think more
02:02natural skin and colour on the eyes, but natural everywhere else. And finally, what is the best makeup
02:09tip that you have ever learned? Definitely one that I learned because I've been wearing winged liner
02:15since I was like 12, since I could pick up an eyeliner and put it on my eye, that's what
02:19I've
02:19been doing. And I've noticed that if you look just directly at yourself, you can mark your wings out,
02:25yeah, straight on. You can just do your little wing part first, that's always the hardest. Yeah. And
02:31then you can just kind of connect it into the highest point of the centre of your eye. And that's
02:35generally like a good shape for most eye types. And it's a lot more personalised to the person as
02:41well, rather than trying to recreate something, you know, that you saw on somebody else's face.
02:45I want to try it. Do, yeah, send me a picture. Yeah, if it doesn't work. Send me one anyway.
02:50Thank you for having a diet coat break with me. Thank you so much.
