00:03I am Coco van and my room is called Love Letter to the World. I was a former pop
00:10singer for ten years and I evolved into performance art very spontaneously
00:16because what I am passionate about in this medium is the fact that you
00:21transform your life into an art piece. It's giving myself the opportunity, the
00:26possibility to like live inside of a fantasy in real life. So the Love Letter
00:32to the World Room is an extension of my art project The World Letter that I've
00:37been doing for a year and a half now. The World Letter is a participatory art
00:41project where the world writes together a collective love letter to the world.
00:46It was the hand of an abuela in Colombia. I did series of art installations around
00:53the world, different themes every time, different performances and one of them
00:58was me writing my love letter to the world. This one guy came up to me he was
01:05Chinese and first he asked what are you doing and I said I'm writing my love
01:09letter to the world and he's like but can I do it too? And I thought yeah sure so
01:16he started writing his love letter to the world in Chinese and then we had a
01:19Syrian family and a German couple and like next thing you know within 20
01:24minutes I had seven different people from seven different countries writing
01:28their love letters to the world at the same time in different languages on the
01:33same piece of paper. At that moment I just was looking around and it kind of
01:38clicked in my head that maybe I was not to write this love letter to the world
01:44maybe the world should write this love letter. 16,000 people have participated
01:50to what's called now the world letter and people from 127 countries and the
01:56letter is 400 meters long which is the height of the Ethel Tower and it's the
02:03longest love letter in the world. I think creating this big symbol of peace and
02:09uniting all of humanity on this one letter is a way to bring everybody
02:14together. This letter is a reminder that we are all one.
