00:13The power of art means to open your mind to new ideas and new ways of seeing and new ways

00:21believing. It took a while for me to find my creative voice but it came when I began to
00:28honor who I am. I have this motto, create from the inside out. What that means is honor who
00:34you are on the inside and then allowing yourself to share that with the world.
00:44My art is full of these symbols that I've created inspired by Egyptian hieroglyphs, adink
00:53symbols that originated in West Africa, artists like Keith Haring and Basquiat. What I really
00:58love is the meditation part of just creating without boundaries and seeing what comes to
01:06life and learning and finding out new things about myself through that process.
01:15As an artist, I am most proud of cultivating my creative voice and using that voice to have
