Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has released a video message urging citizens to join the planned November 1 march and rally from the Minto Road and Connaught Place junction to Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Meanwhile, over a dozen market and traders' associations across Delhi have written to Rahul Gandhi requesting a postponement of the rally. The business groups pointed out that the rally coincides with the pre-Diwali festive shopping week, expressing concern that large-scale demonstrations would affect footfall, sales, and their livelihood. They cited the postponement of the opposition's mock parliament event and urged a similar delay for the Ramlila Maidan gathering. In response, INDIA bloc leaders maintained that the event is a single-day gathering in a designated public space rather than a prolonged agitation, also questioning why similar objections were not raised during previous political demonstrations held in commercial hubs like Chandni Chowk.

00:05with Rahul Gandhi yet again coming in with a video message on the Platform X
00:10where he's urged people to come out and show up in numbers
00:14on November 1st for the rally at Ramlila Maidan.
00:19That is his request.
00:20In fact, we'll take you straight to that video message that's been posted by him.
00:23Listen in.
00:3012.01.19, March 1st, Minto Road and Connaught Place, Minto Road and Connaught Place,
00:35Junction and Ramlila Ground.

00:4512.01.19, March 1st, March 1st, Minto Road and Connaught Place, Junction and Ramlila ground.
00:55We'll be all end next to the Rammlila ground.
00:59So viewers, that is Rahul Gandhi's renewed calls and that is coming out to urge people to show up in
01:06numbers on November 1st.
01:08There is a lot of controversy, remember, that's gone down behind the November 1 rally.
01:13There are several aspects to it.
01:14Of course, there is the political side where the BJP has to say that this particular rally,
01:19the allegations that the opposition parties are making with regards to how people are being stopped from coming into Delhi
01:27from different states
01:28for attending this rally.
01:29Those are all false, while the opposition continues to amp up their attacks at the BJP
01:35and continue to urge people to join them on the rally.
01:38But on the other side, that's what's playing out is another aspect of this very debate.
01:42That's with regards to the Traders Association.
01:44And that is our next story that we're taking you to.
01:47Let's quickly take a look as to what we're learning.
02:00So viewers, even earlier in the day, what the Traders Association had come out to say is that
02:05this particular month, this week in fact, November 8th that is, is Diwali.
02:12This week would be pre-Diwali week.
02:14The festive season has officially started.
02:17So planning a rally of this extent at a pre-festive season time will only hamper their sales and their
02:25livelihoods.
02:26Which is a concern, they've come out to time and again pose to the opposition that
02:31please go ahead with your rallies but do not infringe upon our right to be earning our livelihoods.
02:37And this is yet again another development coming in on that very front
02:42where more than a dozen market associations across Delhi have written a letter to Rahul Gandhi
02:47demanding just a postponement, not a cancellation, but a postponement of the rally.
02:53The letter states that just as the mock parliament was postponed, postponed the Ramlila Maidan rally as well.
02:59This is the particular story that we're tracking and joining me would be our colleague Amit Bhatwaj.
03:06In fact, bringing us more details on the same.
03:09There are letters that have come in at this given point from the Traders Association
03:14and not one but more than a dozen Traders Association.
03:17Amit, very good afternoon to you.
03:19Very firstly, you know, since morning we've been talking to Traders Association as well
03:23and they have a simple demand that we do not have a problem with your right to protest.
03:28Please go ahead and protest but don't infringe upon our right to be earning a livelihood.
03:32Because even earlier the protests that had taken place were during a pre-festive time.
03:37That was pre-Navratri.
03:38This is pre-Diwali.
03:38And these are times when their sales really go up and this is a profit-making time for them.
03:45So how are we looking at this entire debate now?
03:47Absolutely right.
03:48You know, first it was the trade associations.
03:50And after that, one more business body had written to Rahul Gandhi, Miss Sonia Gandhi in this regard as well.
03:58And the opposition leaders are also receiving similar communications.
04:01But what the India Bloc is arguing right now, that look, we are not going for a long-term agitation
04:08as they had done before the Navratris.
04:12Here, what we are looking at is that it's going to be one-day affair.
04:16Rahul Gandhi and the India Bloc leaders marching from Minto Road CP Circle to Ramli Lamaidan.
04:23And from there, holding a one-day rally, like any political rally.
04:27And the opposition parties are also pointing out at now the Bharatiya Jinta Party's mass that happened in the heart
04:32of Chandni Chak.
04:33Which is basically the center for business as far as these, you know, traders, association, the business groups are saying.
04:41So that is also a counter that is coming from.
04:44That it's a one-day affair that we are doing at Ramli Lamaidan, a notified space.
04:47And if you have a problem with us, why there was no problem with the BJP's protest.
04:53Back to you.
04:53Right, Ahmed.
04:54So viewers, this is what we are looking at.
04:56It's a debate that's unfolding.
04:57And this aspect of the entire controversy is less of a debate, more of a request from the Traders Association.
05:05Remember, today there was a public impeachment of the CEC that had been planned.
05:08That has been postponed.
05:10So now the question is with regards to, that's been posed by the Traders Association,
05:14why can we not postpone the rally as well?
05:17So we will keep tracking this very story, but for now we have more developments coming in.
05:22Let's quickly take a look.
