00:01Beauty standards now compared to when I was younger is so different. We didn't
00:06have social media when I was in high school. There's so much pressure and I'm
00:09so glad I didn't go through that because I didn't wear makeup back then. I go out
00:13without makeup in public almost every day that I don't get my makeup done. When
00:18I'm not filming or when I'm not doing stuff like this, you will see me out in
00:22my gym clothes with zero makeup on, but my eyebrows will be done. Never leave
00:27your house without your brows done. So now we're gonna start with my makeup
00:31removal routine. I appreciate all of you complimenting my hair, but I do pay for
00:36it. So the first things first is taking these extensions out. Getting the hair out
00:43of the way.
00:51Here's the fun part and I'll warn you I am not cute when I take off my makeup. Here
00:55comes the wipes. I started wearing makeup more consistently when I was 18
01:01years old. I didn't know what I was doing. My looks were really harsh because I was
01:05big on black eyeliner and people were like, oh she just looks like a bitch all
01:08the time.
01:11So when I usually wash my face I use, you know, a sink with water and stuff like
01:16that, but sometimes I don't have that luxury because I'm on set and I know I'm
01:20gonna be way too tired when I come home. So a friend of mine introduced me to a
01:26cleansing water makeup remover thing and this is on my very, very lazy days.
01:31Here you go.
01:34So next I'm gonna use witch hazel. I'm just gonna say it. Listen,
01:38bullet's trick in the book. It works. I tend to feel the most insecure once a month
01:43around that time. You girls know. And I just got really down about myself about
01:48everything and I cry. I journal. I call my therapist and I asked my boyfriend, do
01:55you love me? Do you think I'm pretty? Tell me I'm pretty. I take my moment and
02:01then get up and go back out there and try again. I use vitamin C as my first
02:06little moisturizing serum. When I turned 28 my skin changed and I had to find a
02:11whole new routine. Little did I know that your hormones change every seven years.
02:16Age is great. After the vitamin C I actually do have a different
02:20moisturizer that I use. So I have huge eyeballs and I love mascara and eyeliner
02:30and eyeshadow and smoking them out and what happens? They get in your eye. And so
02:34now I have to start using eye drops because I can even feel it right now. I
02:39hate it. So this is embarrassing and wish me luck. Oh my God.
02:50And next I realized I still have residue. So I have to get my makeup wipe that I'm
02:54still using and wipe a little bit before I use my eye cream. The person that taught
03:01me to do makeup was actually my sister. She was always obsessed with makeup so she
03:06learned early on. And then eventually I was about 20 years old and she was tired
03:11of the way I was doing it. So she sat me down in her bathroom and that's where I
03:15learned how to do makeup. My sister. My little sister of all people. Like I'm
03:19supposed to be teaching her. And finally eye cream. I have not found what eye cream I
03:25like yet. So I have been using samples and I just want to say something. Do not buy
03:31anything unless you know what works. And you just tap it, tap it, tap it. And you
03:36look pretty and we don't want wrinkles. I learned how to take care of my skin when I
03:41was about 12. I was coming home crying a lot because of my acne. So my mom
03:47actually took me to the mall one day and introduced me to Clinique. It was the first
03:52brand that I ever used and it really helped clean up my face which is when I
03:57learned about soap that you actually use for your face. And toner and lotion and
04:01all that stuff.
04:04And that's that. It's not someone's makeup look or how much they contour or the lip
04:10that they use that matters. It's really the heart of someone. I'm glad that my mom
04:15didn't allow me to wear makeup when I was younger because it really taught me to
04:20appreciate who I was as a person and not the face that I put on. To me I feel like
04:25my
04:26most beautiful when I feel like myself. For example I'm here and I'm wearing
04:30sweats at Refinery29 and I feel more myself than ever. That's why I go out
04:34without makeup a lot because you know if you can't accept me at my natural then
04:38you can't accept me at my glam. Or you can't have me at my glam. You know what I
04:42mean. And now I want a glass of wine because I feel like I'm going to bed.
