00:00Be who you want to be because trying to change yourself to fit in so other people will like
00:07you is not going to bring you happiness at the end of the day.
00:10I'm a human so there's going to be flaws and I've just gotten comfortable with that and
00:14if you don't like it then I don't really care.
00:17What makeup means to me has really changed throughout the years.
00:20I used to wear it because I was trying to cover acne or just kind of be older than I
00:26was and now makeup for me is more about self-expression whatever I'm feeling that day just painting
00:33that on my face and owning that and I get to wash it off and do something entirely different
00:39the next day or that night depending on how busy I am.
00:41I would say what I have on right now is probably my go-to.
00:46I don't do like no makeup makeup.
00:48If I'm going to put makeup on I'm going to put makeup on and I have like 25 pounds of
00:51it on so there's no in between for me.
00:53For the most part I would say I feel pretty good without makeup.
00:56It's taken a while to kind of grow into that.
00:58When I am wearing it I tend to like scratch my face or like rub my eyebrow off and not
01:02even like realize that I'm wearing makeup.
01:04So once it all comes off I just feel free again like I feel my face is naked.
01:10I'm feeling really good when I take my makeup off.
01:13So we're going to take off the makeup but first things first I got to take off any of the
01:17large
01:17costume jewelry that's going to turn my fingers green.
01:19For the most part I will take a pre-cleanse I'm going to take the Dermalogica pre-cleanse and
01:24when you put this on if you can see that it just melts the makeup off.
01:30I started using makeup when I was probably about eight years old.
01:35My mom always had tons of makeup laying around the house and I of course found it and she
01:42knew there was going to be a problem.
01:43I was like instantly obsessed.
01:44She never let me wear it out but she definitely would put it on me and we do like little
01:48makeovers
01:49and we take photos and it was a lot of fun.
01:55These days I just don't listen to beauty standards like whatever those are I kind of just do my
02:00own thing.
02:01I've had people tell me like oh how you did that like that's not how you're supposed to
02:04do it.
02:04It looks good to me and that's all I really care about.
02:10I always use a cleanser after I do the pre-cleanse because inevitably there's more makeup on my
02:15face because I wear a lot of makeup so today I'm going to be using the Murad exfoliating
02:19cleanser.
02:19This is going to be really good for me right now since I do have a bit of breakouts.
02:24Sometimes I am self-conscious about like for instance I have pretty small lips and I really
02:29like the look of larger lips so I do get my lips done.
02:33It's more so about how I feel and how I feel about the way that it looks.
02:38So the next step for me would be removing the residual makeup around the eyes.
02:43One of my favorite eye makeup removers is the NYX Eye and Lip Makeup Remover.
02:52Today I'm going to be using the Dermalogica BioLumen Sea Serum.
02:55This is part of their Age Smart line.
02:57I like to use this to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines.
03:02When I was younger I just got made fun of for a multitude of different things.
03:07It wasn't necessarily all about beauty.
03:10I didn't have a cool car.
03:12My parents didn't have enough money.
03:13I also had acne on my skin which I got made fun of as well.
03:16I would spend all of my Christmas money trying to buy the makeup that I wanted to get my hands
03:21on so I could kind of look a certain way and buy the cool branded clothing so I could
03:26fit in but the truth is like once I did that I still was made fun of.
03:30So what I kind of realized was that you know you can change yourself to fit into society's
03:36little box of like who you should be or you can just be yourself.
03:42This is kind of the final step for me.
03:44This is about moisturizing.
03:46Today I'm going to be using the Dermalogica Calm Water Gel.
03:49When I'm feeling insecure what I try and do is stop giving energy to negative thoughts
03:56and just remind myself about the things that I really do like about myself that I can be
04:00grateful for because what you think about you bring about and if you're sitting there
04:04thinking about you know all the things that you don't like about yourself you're just creating
04:07this giant snowball of negativity and bad thoughts and it's just not good for your soul.
04:13So I try my best to kind of just change my mindset and think about all the stuff that
04:20I am grateful for.
04:22Whenever I'm feeling you know insecure I kind of just look at myself and how capable I am
04:28as a human and how far I've come and just really focus on those positive things and it's
04:33not always about beauty in the way that you look it comes from within.
04:37Just loving yourself that is beautiful you know what you're passionate about and kind of
04:41doing that in life and if you feel good about what you're doing what you're putting out there
04:45into the world then that's really all that matters because the only person that can give
04:49happiness is yourself.
04:51You
